To be owned /kept, produced, ridden/handled by a person who does not derive their main income from working with horse/ponies. The sponsors rosette is also awarded to the pony receiving the qualification. Ponies shown in these classes mus be produced and shown by the owner/spouse, or his/her immediate family, who does not derive income from working with ponies or horses. See NPS 2018 Rule Book. A pony is not eligible to compete if, before 1st January in the current year, it has done any of the following: i.won an open NPS affiliated mixed M&M Ridden class ii.qualified for Horse of the Year Show, Olympia or RIHS Open M&M Ridden classes iii.qualified for the M&M Novice or Intermediate Ridden final at the NPS Summer Championship show (N.B. Ponies can compete as novices in this competition for two consecutive years provided they do not submit an entry to the final in the first year). iv.if a pony qualifies for Horse of the Year Show, Olympia or RIHS in its second year it is immediately de-noviced and cannot compete in the Picton Final. Open to members and non-members. All competitors and grooms must adhere to VHS Rules in all circumstances. Failure to do so may result in immediate disqualification. VHS Regional Final qualification. All competitors placed 1st to 4th in each Area Qualifier class will qualify for the corresponding class at VHS Regional Finals. Members must carry their card in the ring at all times and have their showing card signed by the judge as proof of qualification. 11 RING 3 Commencing 8.30 AM COLOURED HORSE/PONY CLASSES CHAPS "This show is affiliated to The Coloured Horse & Pony Society (UK). Affiliation No Both owner and the rider/exhibitor need not be a member of CHAPS (UK) nor must the horse or pony be registered with CHAPS (UK) to compete. However in order to Qualify both Owner and Rider/Exhibitor need to be a current showing member and present their valid Qualifier card IN THE RING for signing by the judge. Members to apply in writing to CHAPS (UK) for appropriate qualifier card. This show will count as a 2018 qualifier. Date of Championship Show to be confirmed. Please ensure you have 2018 qualifier card. Applications for these can be made to CHAPS Admin office from Mid August. The following classes are CHAPS (UK) Qualifiers [Show Secretary to insert class numbers]. For full rulings and information on competition/qualification, please refer to the CHAPS (UK) Members' Handbook; or visit for rulings. All stallions, 4 years old and over entering these classes must be graded with CHAPS (UK). All stallions must wear Stallion ID Discs in the ring without exception. Ridden Classes 62,63 are BSPA/Equifest Ridden Piebald/Skewbald Qualifiers. The first three places also qualify for the BSPA Championships. Subject to their show rules and conditions. Attention may be paid to the rider s personal appearance but detailed inspection of the rider or tack is not required. Fancy Dress or Period Costume is not permitted. Competitors are required to walk, trot and canter. No individual show is required but the judge may ask groups of three or four riders to give short displays. A Special Rosette will be awarded to the highest placed Adult and Junior Member of the S.S.A. carrying their current Championship Points Cards. N.B. Judges may request a short show, but will not ride exhibits, horses will not be stripped. Traditional habits must be worn. Fancy Dress and Period Costumes NOT permitted. N.B. The highest placed horse/rider combination qualifies for the Final to be held at the National Side Saddle Show. In the event of previous qualification, this may be passed down to fourth place. Qualifying combinations are required to become Full Members of the SSA 21 days prior to the National Side Saddle Show or as soon as possible if after that date to be eligible to compete in the Final. 21 H.O.P.E. RULES AND AFFILIATIONS 1. The Promoters, Organisers, Committee and Landowners ( The Committee) shall not be liable for any claim in respect of any damage to any person, horse or other property of any land howsoever it may have been caused. It is an express condition of entry, that each competitor shall hold the Committee harmless and that he or she shall indemnity the Committee against any legal proceedings, actions, expenses, costs, claims, demands or damage whatsoever arising from any accident or other incident which may occur. 2. All vehicles parked at their owners risk. 3. Entries to be accompanied by the appropriate fee and will not be acknowledged unless an SAE is enclosed. Numbers to be collected from the Secretary on the day. 4. No refund of entry fee unless the Show has to be cancelled for any reason. Should this be deemed necessary, the Organisers reserve the right to retain up to 50% of any entry fee paid to cover pre-show expenses. 5. The Judges decision is final. 6. Any objection must be handed to the Secretary in writing within 10 minutes of the alleged incident accompanied by a 25 deposit which will be refunded if the complaint is upheld. 7. No unauthorised person allowed in the Show ring. 8. Hard hats to current safety standards must be worn at all times when mounted and by Young Handlers 9. No galloping allowed on the Show ground. The making of an entry is irrevocable consent for the storage and disclosure of information in this way. TSR Showing Finals- This show is a qualifier for the 2018 TSR Regional Finals. 22 National Pony Society Affiliation Rules 2018 Affiliation Number NPS Qualifying Rounds: These classes are judged under the rules of the NPS. Ponies must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Part breds are not eligible for Mountain and Moorland Classes. To compete in Show Pony and Show Hunter Pony classes, ponies must be registered in the NPS Riding Pony Stud Book, Register, Appendix, International or Sports Pony section of the BRPSB, the GSB, the AHSB, the AASB or in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Part breds are not eligible unless entered in the NPS British Riding Pony Stud Book, Register, Appendix, International or Sports Pony section of the BRPSB. 23 Traditional Gypsy Cob Association (TGCA) Show Number TGCA/06/18/076 TGCA TOYS In Hand and Ridden Classes Pure Bred classes are qualifiers for the Best of Breed Finals at the Traditional Gypsy Cob Association's (TGCA) National Breed Championship Show TOYS.Classes are open to all pure bred traditional gypsy cobs. Part Bred classes, are open to all part bred traditional gypsy cobs and are qualifiers for the part bred finals at TOYS. The exhibit must have one parent that is pure bred traditional gypsy cob, a minimum of 50% breeding is accepted. Stallions All stallions (pure or part bred, four years and over) in order to enter any TGCA affiliated class MUST have be TGCA registered, have passed TGCA evaluations and their TGCA stallion disc displayed on their bridle Stallions and colts over the age of two, MUST be shown in a stallion bridle with a metal bit and chain lead as per the current TGCA rulebook. Existing TGCA members must present their qualification card to the judge in the ring for signature. Nonmembers will receive a qualification card from the judge and have 21 days to join the TGCA and register their horse to validate the qualification. Championship Shows 1st, 2nd and 3rd from the TGCA classes may go forward to the Quest for a Star Championship,provided they are current TGCA members and the horse is TGCA registered. Membership cards and qualification cards (specific to that exhibit) must be presented upon entry into the ring. The Champion and Reserve qualify for the Ultimate Star Championships at TOYS. Part Breds go forward to the Go for Glory Championship, for 2018 and 2019 qualifiers there is no requirement for membership or registration (apart from stallions) on the date of the show. The Champion and Reserve qualify for the Crowning Glory Championships at TOYS RoR Amateur Definition 2018: An amateur is a person who for the purposes of RoR classes does not/has not during the current season or previous season: Engage(d) in breeding, livery, buying or selling, dealing or hiring horses (for the show ring) in a commercial capacity. Horses must not have been stabled at or reside in a Professional Producer s/trainer s yard (in the current season or previous season). Riders must not have ridden any animals produced in a Professional/Trainer in the current or previous season. Horse and riders must not have received any help from a Professional/Trainer at a SHOW in the current or previous season. Horses must not have been ridden at a show by a rider who has ridden for a Professional/Trainer in the current or previous season. Any breaches of this ruling will be taken seriously and will result in disqualification from future classes. Veteran Horse Society AREA QUALIFIER First round qualifier for the Veteran Horse Society Supreme Final: VETERAN HORSE OF THE YEAR 2018 Kindly Sponsored by Allen & Page. Open to members and non-members. All competitors and grooms must adhere to VHS Rules in all circumstances. Failure to do so may result in immediate disqualification. VHS Regional Final qualification. All competitors placed 1st to 4th in each Area Qualifier class will qualify for the corresponding class at VHS Regional Finals. Members must have their showing card signed by the judge in the ring as proof of qualification. Non-members will receive a red qualification card which can be exchanged for signed showing card when applying for VHS membership. Regional Finals are open to members only. Young Rider Championship qualification. A Young Rider rosette and qualification will be awarded to the young rider of the Judge s choice, entitling them to enter the Young Rider Championship at the National Veteran Open Championships. This award is given at the Judge s discretion.
