2 RULES All rules as per 2012 BSPS Rule and Show Hand Book, except for any new or amended rules as indicated in the Schedule. BSPS rules must be adhered to at all times. This Show is affiliated to the British Show Pony Society and all persons entering, competing, showing or otherwise taking part whether a member or not shall be deemed to the jurisdiction of the BSPS. The Show is also affiliated to the British Show Horse Association and the relevant classes will be judged under their rules The Show is also affiliated to the British Skewbald & Piebald Association and the relevant classes will be run under their rules. This show is a qualifier for the BSPS Summer Championship Show The 1 st and 2 nd prize winners in the Open Nursery, Novice and Open WHPs Open SHPs Open L/R F/R and Open Show Pony classes will qualify. The 1 st 2 nd and 3 rd in the Cradle stakes, Open Intermediate classes and Heritage M&M will qualify. This show is a qualifier for the 2012 Royal International Horse Show. The highest placed pony not already qualified from the first 3 will qualify in the following classes: Open LR, Open F/R, Open Nursery Stakes, Open 133cm 143cm and 153cm WHP, L/R of HT, Open 122cm 133cm, 143 cm & 153 cm SHP, Open Intermediate SRT small and large, Open & Pretty Polly Heritage Ridden, Intermediate SH & WH, Pretty Polly LR & 1 st Ridden, Pretty Polly Mixed Height Show Pony, Pretty Polly Mixed Height SHP, Heritage LR and 1 st Ridden & Heritage Open Ridden. In these classes ponies must be owned and ridden by a BSPS Member. Except for the Anglo and Part-bred Arabs who must be registered with the AHS. This show is a qualifier for the BSPS Classic Security UK Limited Challenge the highest placed pony in the L/R 1 st Ridden and LR of HT, Open Show Pony, Open SHP, Open WHP, Cradle & Nursery Stakes, and Open Intermediate WH, SRT, SH that has not qualified for the 2012 HOYS in the appropriate class will qualify. If the highest placed pony has already qualified the qualification will be awarded to the next eligible pony. The Blue Riband Pony of the Year competition: 1 st & 2 nd placed prize winners in each of the Open WHP, SHP, Open Show Pony, L/R and 1 st Ridden classes and 1 st 2 nd & 3 rd prize winners in the Open Intermediate WH, SRT & SH classes will qualify. Owners and riders must be BSPS members and the pony registered with the BSPS to compete in classes with Blue Riband qualification. BSPS Premier League Competition: This qualification will be awarded to the 1 st 2 nd, 3 rd & 4th placed ponies in the following Open classes that are NOT RIHS qualifying classes. 128cm, 138cm, 148cm, Open Show Ponies, Open SHP Open WHP Nursery and Cradle Stakes Heritage Ridden and Heritage WHP. BSPS Black Country Saddles Rider of the Year Competition: The best rider from each of the following classes will qualify, Open Show Pony, SHP, WHP Open L/R F/R L/R of HT Cradle /Nursery Stakes and Open Intermediate classes and Heritage classes see rule 455. Neither the BSPS nor the committee, any judge, steward or any other official shall be liable for injury or damage to any person, animal, article or property. It is a condition of entry that each exhibitor or competitor shall indemnify the organizers and hold them harmless against such matters aforesaid. Correctly secured British standard scull/riding hats No. EN1384 PAS 015 (USA) ASTMF 1163 that meet current safety standards MUST be worn at all times when mounted. The committee reserves the right to alter the times of classes or the Judge if necessary. All objections must be submitted in writing within 30 minutes of the completion of the class to the secretary with a deposit of 30. Only tack permissible in the ring in BSPS classes is allowed on the showground when mounted. No exercising in the rings anyone doing so will be disqualified. No entry fees will be refunded and no substitutions will be allowed. All prize money to be collected on the day or it will be forfeited. All horses or ponies must be 4 years old or over. Mare or Gelding only unless otherwise stated. Rings will not be held up under any circumstances. Unmannerly behaviour towards officials will not be tolerated. RING 3 to commence at 9.00 am Judge: Ride Debbie Monaghan Conformation Mrs AJF Loriston-Clarke (Hampshire) CHERIF RIDDEN REGISTERED ANGLO AND PART-BRED ARAB CHAMPIONSHIP This Show is a qualifier for the Cherif Championship Open to registered Anglo and Part-bred Arab stallions, mares and geldings, four years old and over, any height. All Part-bred Arabs must contain the minimum 12.5% Arab blood. Novice classes or those mixed with Pure bred Arabs are not eligible for Cherif Championship qualification. The final will be held at the Cherif Championship show, Addington Manor Equestrian Centre, Addington, Bucks, on Wednesday 12 th September All details and Qualifying Cards from Miss Lynda Temple, The Stables, Ashton Gifford Lane, Codford, Wiltshire. BA12 OJX.. Please state the name and accurate height of horse/pony. S.A.E please and contact telephone number. All exhibitors are issued with colour coded Qualifying Cards, which state the Height Section of the Horse/Pony. Competitors must carry their qualifying cards with them in the ring to be signed by the Judge. Failure to produce the Card for signature means non-qualification. No cards are to be brought into the ring once the class has started. A photocopy of the AHS registration must be produced with the entry form. Class 32: The BSPS RIHS Anglo and Part Bred Arab. Mare or gelding 4yrs or over, exceeding 148cm. Riders any age. This class is a qualifier for the Cherif Championship To qualify: One White Card (over cms) One Green Card (over 153 cms). Will be ridden by the judge. Two may qualify. The highest placed entry within the first four in the class at (a) up to and including 153 cms (15hh) and (b) over 153 cms (15hh) will qualify. No entry placed higher than fourth may qualify, even if only one height section is covered by the top four in the class (see rules) Class 33: The BSPS RIHS Anglo and Part Bred Arab. Mare or gelding 4 yrs or over, not exceeding 148cm Riders any age. This class is a qualifier for the Cherif Championship Two entries will qualify. One up to 138cms (Pink Card) and one over cms (Blue Card). Both must be within the first four in the class in order to qualify.will not be ridden by the judge at qualifying shows, but will be ridden by a lightweight adult at the Cherif Championship final. One entry will qualify. 6 RING 3 Continued.. BRITISH SHOW HORSE ASSOCIATION ROYAL INTERNATIONAL QUALIFYING CLASSES Held under the rules of the British Show Horse Association. Horses must be registered with the Association and all owners, exhibitors and riders must be Association Members. Riders must be 15 years of age or older. Classes are qualifiers for the Royal International Horse Show. The first prize winner will qualify to compete at the final. If already qualified the second will qualify, if the first and second are already qualified then the third will go forward. Horses competing in the Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain classes at their affiliated shows cannot compete in Hack and Riding Horse classes at the same show. This does not apply to SHB (GB) Ridden Sport Horse classes The three highest placed prizewinners in all OPEN affiliated classes will qualify to compete in the BSHA Classic Supreme Classes at the National Championship Show on September 7 th & 8 th The BSHA offer a Novice, Young Rider and Amateur rosette in each open class and a Championship rosette for each section. The highest placed Amateur Home Produced exhibit in all Royal International qualifying classes will need to contact Sarah Butler by sarah@bluechipfeed.com or on (a maximum of one rosette to be won at a RIHS qualifier and one rosette at a HOYS qualifier per horse. The award will then pass down the line). To be shown hogged. OPEN COB CHAMPIONSHIP 1st & 2nd Prize winners from Classes are eligible to compete. Class 40a: Unaffiliated Racehorse to Riding Horse Class. Judge will not ride horses but they will be asked to perform an individual show.

7 Judge: Mr S Somers (Suffolk) RING 4 to commence at 9.00am BRITISH SKEWBALD AND PIEBALD ASSOCIATION RIHS QUALIFYING CLASSES These classes are affiliated to the British Skewbald and Piebald Association and are qualifiers for the Royal International Horse Show, Hickstead Open to Skewbald and Piebald Horse/Pony only. All classes will be judged under BSPA rules and eligibility criteria, forms/rules can be obtained from or BSPA shows office All horses/ponies must be registered and all owners and riders BSPA members prior to the show. Riders age taken from 1 st January, all stallions must be graded and licensed with BSPA, no rider under 14 may exhibit a stallion in any class. Membership and qualification cards must be carried in the ring by riders and produced as required for inspection or signature. Failure to do so will mean disqualification. Spurs must not be worn in any pony class, 153cms and under (with the exception of miniatures and Shetland who are exempt) must possess a current JMB Height Certificate submitted to BSPA prior to show. RIHS schedules available from QUALIFICATION: First place and the next unqualified competitor standing 2 nd or 3 rd qualify from each class, no competitor may qualify from lower than 3 rd place. Registered Pure Bred Ponies 4 years old or over, riders any age. Class will be split if sufficient entries. Class 52: The BSPS RIHS Heritage Mountain and Moorland Open Ridden Class. Registered Pure Bred Dartmoor, Exmoors and Shetlands. Riders any age, ponies 4 years old or over. Class 53: The BSPS RIHS Heritage Mountain & Moorland Open Ridden Class. Registered Pure Bred Welsh Section A & B. Ponies 4 years old or over. Riders any age. Class 54: The BSPS RIHS Heritage Mountain and Moorland Open Ridden Class. Registered Pure Bred Welsh Section C & D Ponies 4yrs old and over, riders any age. Class 55: The BSPS RIHS Heritage Mountain and Moorland Open Ridden. Ponies 4yrs old and over, New Forest & Connemara. Ponies 4 years old or over. Riders any age. Class 56: The BSPS RIHS Heritage Mountain and Moorland Open Ridden. Riders MUST jump in their correct height section and be the correct age for the height of the animal they ride. Riders may ride more than one pony providing the animals are of a different height section. (see rule 39) Riders must declare if they are competing in the 153cms. or the Intermediate Section Class 63: The BSPS Novice Nursery Stakes. Mare or Gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 133cms. Riders not to have attained their 12th birthday before 1st January in the current year. Class 64. The BSPS Cradle Stakes Mare or Gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 122cms. Riders not to have attained their 11th birthday before 1st January in the current year. Class 65: The BSPS Mixed height Open W.H.P/Intermediate W.H. Mare or Gelding, 4 years old or over, not exceeding 158cms. Riders MUST jump in their correct height section and be the correct age for the height of the animal they ride. Riders may ride more than one pony providing the animals are of a different height section. (see rule 39). Riders must declare if they are competing in the 153cms. or the Intermediate Section. The 1 st prize winner from Class 65 will qualify for the BSPS David manning Champion of Champions. CHAMPIONSHIP First and second prize winners from classes qualify to compete for the Championship. The winner qualifies for the Supreme Champion of Champions class at the BMHS International Breed Show in September 2012.

10 UNAFFILIATED MINIATURE CLASSES These classes are unaffiliated classes, open to members and non-members of the British Miniature Horse Society for both registered and un-registered horses. 1st to 3rd prize winners in each class will qualify for the British Miniature Horse Society Breed Championships, unaffiliated classes in September 2012 at Stretcholt Farm in Somerset. Non-members must purchase day or full membership to attend the Breed Show Championships. Further details can be obtained from the BMHS office on Class 77 Class 78 Class 79 Open to Yearlings and Two Year olds, Colts, Filly's or Geldings. Yearlings not to exceed 82 cms and Two Year olds not to exceed 84 cms. Three years and over Mares & Geldings. Three year olds not to exceed 86 cms and Four year olds not to exceed 87 cms.
