7 Rules and Regulations This show is affiliated to the British Show Pony Society (BSPS) and all persons entering, competing, showing or otherwise taking part in BSPS classes, whether or not members, are subject to the Constitution & Rules of the BSPS, including disciplinary procedures and shall be deemed to have consented to the jurisdiction of the BSPS. All rules as per the 2016 BSPS Rule and Show Handbook. This show is a qualifying show for the BSPS Winter Championships 2017 to be held at Arena UK, 14 th 16 th April Novice classes the 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd prize winners will qualify. In the case of a mixed height novice class, 1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd and 4 th will qualify. Restricted classes Animals eligible for restricted classes must not have been placed 1 st 8 th at the RIHS, HOYS or Olympia in the relevant class in 2015, 2016 or 2017 (with the exception of pretty polly or young rider classes) which they are entering. The three highest placed Restricted animals will qualify. In the case of a mixed height open class, the four highest placed Restricted animals will qualify. Qualification cards will be presented in the ring to those qualifying. Cards to be sent with entries for the Winter Championships. Riders of Restricted animals must wear an armband. BSPS Industrial Salt Supplies Winner of Winners Ponies placed 1st in the Heritage Open/Restricted classes will qualify for the finals to be held at the BSPS Summer Championships BSPS Premier League 1st 4th prize winners in all Open (Restricted) classes will qualify for the Premier League finals to be held at the BSPS Summer Championships Animals must be registered before the date of the show at which they qualify for the BSPS Championships and must be ridden by BSPS members, except in the case of exhibitors who have never been members before, who are allowed 7 days in which to become members and register their ponies, provided they have a valid JMB certificate before the date of the Championship they qualify for. CHAPS (UK) Winter Restricted Classes exhibits not to have qualified for HOYS in 2015 or The 2 highest placed from each height/type category may qualify. Neither the owner or rider need be fully paid up members of CHAPS (UK) at the time of the qualifying show, nor must the animal be registered, but to validate qualification both membership and registration must be in place with CHAPS (UK) before entering the final at the BSPS Winter Championships Show and both sections of the qualification cad must be returned as per the instructions on the card. Membership / Registration forms can be obtained from CHAPS (UK) Admin, 1 McLaren Cottages, Abertysswg, Rhymney, Tredegar NP22 5BH. All stallions must be graded with CHAPS in order to compete in these classes. The Committee does not accept liability for any accident, injury, damage or illness to horses, ponies, owners, riders, spectators or any other person or their property. It is a condition of entry that each exhibitor or competitor shall indemnify the organisers and hold them harmless against such matters aforesaid. Stabling: stabling is available on the showground. 8 Directions to College EC, Keysoe From East A428 to St Neots, carry on past St Neots on A428, you will go under road & railway bridges, past a crane storage on left, then over a roundabout by Tesco. At next roundabout turn Right on to B1428 (Great North Road), over at least 3 mini roundabouts then at mini roundabout immediately after pedestrian lights turn left on to Bushmead Road. Follow that for about 3.5 miles, then straight over crossroads, and after 1.5 miles you come to a T junction, turn Right. Church Road in Keysoe is 2 miles on the left From South M1 J13 A421, and stay on that road for 13 miles until the last Bedford exit (A428 Bedford & Great Barford). First exit on roundabout at top of slip, then at next Roundabout (by ʺGo Outdoorsʺ store on Right) Turn Right, carry straight over roundabouts for 2 miles, then at Roundabout for Kimbolton Road (it has trees in the middle and a pub called The Pheasant on other side) Turn Right, past Golf Course and carry on for 8 miles to Keysoe. Church Road is one mile into the village on the left. From the South A1 After Tempsford bridge, take the A421 for Bedford at the Black Cat Roundabout (sign Milton Keynes A421) after 4 miles take the Bedford A428 exit (signed Bedford A428 Great Barford) Right at roundabout at top of slip, over other slip roundabout then at next Roundabout (by ʺGo Outdoorsʺ store on Right) Turn Right, carry straight over roundabouts for 2 miles, then at Roundabout for Kimbolton Road (it has trees in the middle and a pub called The Pheasant on other side) Turn Right, past Golf Course and carry on for 8 miles to Keysoe. Church Road is one mile into the village on the left. From the North M1 J15 A45 past Northampton & Wellingborough to Rushden, at big roundabout take third exit for A6 south. At next roundabout take first exit for Kimbolton (this route is subject to an 18 ton limit) take this road for 10 miles, then on the far side of Kimbolton turn right onto the B660 on the far side of Kimbolton turn right onto the B660 (sign Bedford Pertenhall B660). Church Road in Keysoe is 5 miles on the right From the North M6 A14 Past Kettering carry on to J16 (Old Weston Kimbolton B660) take the exit slip and at T turn left for Kimbolton. Follow B660 to end T junction, then turn left through Kimbolton (18 ton limit) on the far side of Kimbolton turn right onto the B660 (sign Bedford Pertenhall B660). Church Road in Keysoe is 5 miles on the right From the North A1 Past Huntingdon to Buckden roundabout, turn right for Grafham (Kimbolton B661) Follow that road to T junction at end in Great Staughton (by Snooty Tavern) Turn right for Kimbolton, as you approach Kimbolton turn left on B660 on the far side of Kimbolton turn right onto the B660 (sign Bedford Pertenhall B660).
