5 Sashes to all champions/ Easter Prizes in all classes * Denotes Equifest Qualifying Classes Silver Medal Championship NPS/KILMANNAN STUD M&M In Hand Silver Medal Rosette Championship (SM-MMIH) A Silver Medal Rosette is offered by the National Pony Society for the best registered pony owned by an NPS Qualifying or Life member in the M&M In Hand section. The Sponsor s Rosette is also awarded to the pony receiving the qualification. Membership cards must be presented in the ring to receive the medal and/or the qualification. Excludes Part Bred These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS. NPS Silver Medal Rosettes are only awarded when the owner of the champion pony is a Qualifying or Life member of the NPS. A valid membership card must be in the rider s/handler s possession on entering the ring and be produced immediately on request by either the judge or the steward. If the owner of the Champion pony is not a member, or the owner s membership card is not immediately produced, the rosette may be awarded to the Reserve Champion provided they have the required membership card. If the Champion pony has previously qualified it is still entitled to the Silver Medal Rosette but the qualification card goes to the Reserve Champion pony, provided the owner of that pony is a member of the NPS. The Silver Medal Rosette and the qualification card can be awarded no lower than first Reserve (third). Foals are not eligible for Silver Medal Championships. A pony is not eligible to compete if, before 1st January in the current year, it has done any of the following: i. Won an open NPS affiliated mixed M&M Ridden class ii. Qualified for Horse of the Year Show, Olympia or RIHS Open M&M Ridden classes iii. Qualified for the M&M Novice or Intermediate Ridden final at the NPS Summer Championship show (N.B. Ponies can compete as novices in this competition for two consecutive years provided they do not submit an entry to the final in the first year). iv If a pony qualifies for Horse of the Year Show or RIHS in its second year it is immediately de-noviced and cannot compete in the Picton Final. Ponies must be shown in a snaffle bit. Ponies must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Part breds are not eligible for Mountain & Moorland Classes. To compete in Show Pony and Show Hunter Pony classes ponies must be registered in the NPS British Riding Pony Stud Book, Register, Appendix, International or Sports Pony section of the BRPSB, the GSB, the AHSB, the AASB or in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Part-Breds are not eligible unless entered in the NPS British Riding Pony Stud Book, Register, Appendix, International or Sports Pony section of the BRPSB. Qualifying rounds for most NPS competitions are open to ponies owned by NPS members and nonmembers but only ponies owned by adult NPS Qualifying or Life members are eligible to qualify for the final of the competition at the NPS Summer Championship Show at Malvern from 31 st July 2nd August 2018 The highest placed pony, if owned by an NPS member, in each class will qualify for the final. Qualification may pass down to third place if the first and second ponies are already qualified. NPS/Rosettes Direct Home Produced Ridden Championship - Riders of Home Produced ponies (see definition in the NPS Rules Book) can wear a white arm band in classes where this is indicated. These ponies, if owned by NPS members, are then eligible to qualify for the final at the NPS Summer Championship Show. The Owner s Membership cards MUST be produced in the ring when requested or the qualification will be forfeit. SHPS Amateur Highland Pony Breed Championship Qualifier for July 2018 Tartan arm band must be worn The championships to be held at the Southern Highland Pony Show, Onley Showground, Rugby on Saturday July 14th for rules see their facebook page or ask us for a copy, will be displayed on the day *This show is Affiliated to EQUIFEST, taking place at The East of England Showground on the 8 th 12 th August 2018 Qualifying classes are marked by * Qualification cards must be signed by judge or show secretary, available from Equifest or some will be available on the day from secretary. 8

9 South West Pony Association Championships Qualifying Rules This show is a qualifier for the South West Pony Association Championships to be held 30 th August -2 nd September 2018,at The David Broome Event Centre, Crick, Gwent.. To qualify for the Championships: 1. Enter one of the qualifying classes. 2. Be one of the two highest placed exhibits not already qualified within the first four and receive a qualification card signed in the ring. 3. Complete the entry form on the qualification card. 4. Return the card to together with any registration fees due within 14 days of this show. Please Note: Registration fee for 2018 is 30 to include all members of the family and equines owned by the family. Show Rules * Please park where instructed * Correctly secured up to latest stand hard hat MUST be worn by riders at all times when mounted. *The committee reserves the right to alter the times of classes or the Judge if necessary. *The judge s decision is final. *Unmannerly behaviour towards officials will not be tolerated, offenders will be asked to leave the showground. *Stallion discs must be worn by all colts over 2 and they must be bitted. *No entry fees will be refunded. *All ridden horses or ponies must be 4 years old or over. *All riders must be 3 years old and over. *NO BOXES TO BE MUCKED OUT ON SHOWGROUND 10 PENALTY BYE LAW. *First aid cover 4 per rider. *Push chairs, wheelchairs, buggies or bikes are not allowed in the horse walks and collecting rings without prior arrangement with the Secretary so that details can be checked with our insurance. *Please respect the show and the venue and tidy around you before leaving eg: litter, hay, muck etc. *The show committee insists that competitors have adequate third party insurance, the show will not accept any responsibility for any issues. Competing with ponies can be dangerous and it is each person responsibility to insure themselves, you accept this by entering the show.
