6 MESSAGE TO PROSPECTIVE EXHIBITORS Attracting visitors from near and far, we are extremely proud of the long standing history and reputation of The Keith Country Show, renowned as one of Scotland's best and friendliest shows. This year we look forward to celebrating a tradition of 142 years standing and are, as ever, keen to maintain this proud tradition and to continue to broaden the appeal of the Show. We would like to thank everyone who exhibited at last year s Show and also to congratulate exhibitors for presenting and parading your animals so professionally and achieving such high standards. We appreciate that exhibiting livestock is very time consuming and becoming increasingly expensive and thank you for returning again this year;. The Stock Judging Competition which is kindly sponsored by Seafield Veterinary Group, will be on Sunday 27th July at Midtown of Glass, Huntly starting at 1pm and very kindly hosted by our Chairman, Gary Christie and his family. The Stock Judging Competition is open to everyone and there will be classes for Individuals, teams and young farmers. There will also be some fun classes, a raffle, bar & stovies. We are delighted that the W R Simmers Scottish Beef Supreme Cattle Championship will again be held at Keith Country Show and look forward to building on the success of the previous years very well supported competition. It has proved to be an exciting addition to the show. Open to Beef Champions from all of the Scottish Shows, the W R Simmers Scottish Beef Supreme Cattle Championship provides a terrific spectacle and a very prestigious competition attracting entries from throughout Scotland. The restructure of the Sunday Horse Classes last year, with all classes being held in the Main Arena was very well received by both Exhibitors and Visitors. Moving the Unaffiliated Show Jumping to Sunday afternoon in the Horse Ring, enabled entries from the morning classes to compete in the Show Jumping. The well supported Gypsy Horse Section will again be a qualifier for the TGCA National Championships. The Veteran Champion and Reserve will qualify for the Veteran Horse Society Scottish Veteran Horse of the year 2014 and there are Bright Stars Qualifiers in the Riding Horse and Ridden Pony Sections for the BSPS Summer Championships. In the Monday Classes, the Ridden Clydesdales are a qualifier for the 2014 Blair Horse trials and the Clydesdale Horse Young Handler will qualify for the 2015 Royal Highland Show. An action packed programme of events is lined up for the Main Arena on both days and we are delighted to present on Sunday: The Jason Smyth Adrenaline Stunt Show to thrill the crowd and also Haggis Hurling, Horse Parade, Vintage & Truck Parade along with Children s Races and the Pets Parade. On Monday another full programme includes The Jason Smyth Adrenaline Stunt Show along with the excitement of Scottish Beef Supreme Cattle Championship, The Grand Parade and the ever popular and entertaining Pony Club Games. The Balloch Hill Race and Charity Challenge both take place on Sunday as will the Highland Dancing Competition. Pipe Bands will be performing on both days. We would like to thank the various businesses who support the Show, through generous sponsorship and donations your contribution is really very much appreciated. There is a new range of Sponsorship Packages now available, please ask any committee member for details or see the website. The Trade Stand area will be full to capacity again this year, with a wide and varied choice of goods on sale. We are sure Visitors, Exhibitors and all who take part in the Show will find it an interesting, enjoyable and rewarding experience, and, from us all, thank you once more for supporting us. Please note: Separate schedules are available for the Industrial and Horticultural Sections, Vintage Section, Truck Show, YFC Competitions, Highland Dancing and Crop Competition.
