All vehicles transporting livestock will be subject to a documentation check before entry to market site. All visitors and traders must ensure they wear clean clothing and footwear before entering market site. All visitors and traders using car park areas please use main entrance. Hauliers and farmers delivering livestock must disinfect their boots before and after loading or unloading. Livestock purchased or unsold will not be allowed to move unless an authorised pass slip has been issued by the main office. No livestock will be allowed to remain on the premises after a sale. Only staff, livestock hauliers, owners or their agents are permitted to load or unload livestock. Wash hands thoroughly when leaving pennage areas. 8 6 Conditions of sale 1. The sale will be conducted according to the rules of the Bluefaced Leicester Sheep Breeders Association. 2. All Ewes must be guaranteed in lamb by the vendor at the date of sale. If any female sheep, which was described in the catalogue or at the time of sale as being in lamb, proves not to have been in lamb at the time of sale within 21 days after the day of sale the purchaser gives written notice to the auctioneers of his intention to return the animal, supported by a veterinary surgeon s certificate that such sheep has proved not to have been in lamb, then the purchaser may return such sheep to the vendor. 3. All sheep will be sold in guineas and a commission of 5% will be charged by the Auctioneers on all sales. 4. An upset price of 100 guineas will stand on all sheep. 5. 1% Society Levy will be deducted on all sheep sold. 6. All sheep to be sold singly and in catalogue order. 7. All sheep will be identified with tags hung around their necks. 8. All sheep must be penned before the start of the sale otherwise they will not be sold. 9. Normal inspection procedures will apply and will commence from 9am onwards. The inspectors decision is final. 10. Black wool must be declared by the vendor at the time of sale but inspectors still have the right to reject sheep for black wool so extensive as to seem not true to breed type. If black wool is not declared and found by the purchaser before it leaves the market, the sheep can be returned on that day. 11. No shaving or clipping in front of the eyes will be permitted and sheep will be removed from the mart. 12. a) Any complaint for cudspilling must be lodged with the Auctioneers before the sheep is removed from the sale premises. b) The return of a Sheep for cudspelling shall be a matter to be resolved between purchaser and vendor. 13. Whilst all sheep are inspected by Association Officers purchasers must satisfy themselves as to the correctness of any animal which will be their responsibility on the fall of the hammer. 14. The Pedigree and descriptions of the lots are believed to be correct, but not intended as warranty, and therefore shall be taken with all faults and errors of description. 15. All sheep are sold as correct in mouth and udder unless otherwise stated. 16. Any disputes will be a matter to be resolved between purchaser and vendor. 17. A claim must not exceed the purchase price of the sheep. 18. Entry Fees are Non Returnable. 19. Vendors are responsible for taking the sheep to the Sale Ring and returning them back to the pens after being offered for sale. 20. We introduced him back into the flock last year; F1 and F17 are sons of him both with excellent potential T14 Dalehead This ram has a large influence in the flock. He was another ram of extreme power on the Leicesters. He sired hard, clean coloured mules with a very good white W22 Midlock Purchased for 4500 from the Midlock flock in He was the son of V3 Bull & Cave out of Hewgill ewe. He was a powerful ram on Leicesters and bred very good mules Y21 TY-Gwyn A home bred ram with excellent crossing ability. His sire goes back to M1 Star Green. He produced modern day coloured Leicesters and excellent mules. 980-Z9 He was a very correct Leicester getter and sired excellent mule lambs.

16 A1 Ty-Gwyn The best son of T14 Dalehead, out of a P1 Ty-Gwyn ewe. He is a ram used a lot within the flock for his natural power and ability to sire excellent mules C17 Ty-Gwyn Sired by A1 Ty-Gwyn, and dam is lot 2, this ram is one of the best mule producers we have ever used. Some of the ewes in the sale are in-lamb to him C4 ST Ravenscar Purchased from J Stenton. He is the son of Z1 Todhills, out of a Hundith ewe. He is a naturally powered ram with modern day colours and has exceptional teeth. He is an excellent mule lamb producer. His sons are doing well, selling to a top of 8500 out of Z9 Hewgill ewe. Lot 10 is bred the same way D11 Ty-Gwyn A homebred ram out of a ewe purchased from P Smith at the Dyke. His sire goes back to L1 Snab Green. This ram is an outstanding mule producer. We hope to use him for many years to come, due to his ability to sire strong, powerful sheep with modern day colours and good skin F1 Ty-Gwyn This ram is the son of L1 Snab Green. He is a coloured ram with a very fine skin and is out of a Y21 Ty-Gwyn ewe. This ram will be a stock ram for the future F17 TY-Gwyn Another ram by L1 Snab Green out of a Z9 Hewgill ewe. His mother has bred many good mule producers. We think this ram has great potential and will meet the modern day requirements. Sired by Myfyrian Blue Dragon E+ and out of Cassington Shona A44, one of our best ever breeding ewes. Cassington Tyson is a full brother to Cassington C1 E+ who was purchased by Paul Howell s long Mynd flock and went on to do exceptionally well for him including siring his 2012 Carlisle sale Champion that went on to make 7,500. Cassignton Tyson has a very good performance recording figures with an index of 140 putting him in the top 5% of the breed. Vendors must inform Harrison & Hetherington Limited of any livestock due to attend the market whose temperament, behaviour or condition may call for additional precautions for its safe handling. When loading or unloading livestock handlers must ensure that the dock and vehicle gates are securely fixed so as to prevent the escape of animals. Traders are responsible for providing and maintaining suitable livestock handling equipment. They should ensure that livestock handlers are fit, experienced in livestock handling and familiar with the livestock in their charge. Children must not be permitted in any area where they may be at risk from livestock or machinery. In the case of bulls, during the period when the show/sale is open to visitors, bulls in stalls or pens should not be left unattended. If the handler is temporarily absent, arrangements should be made with another vendor, steward or member of Harrison & Hetherington staff to oversee the bull until the handler returns. Handling of Livestock at shows and sales: Harrison & Hetherington Limited recommend that an adult person should accompany any junior person during the showing/ sale of livestock in the ring and reserves the right to intervene at any point if, in the company s opinion, the person showing the livestock is at risk in undertaking that activity. Passageways must be kept clear at all times during the auction sale. PLEASE DO NOT STAND IN THE SALE RING ENTRANCE AND EXIT PASSAGES. The auction ring man escapes and refuges must be kept clear at all times. All portable electrical equipment supplied and/or used by visitors and traders must be safe and fit for the purpose and should have a valid portable appliance test certificate. AUCTIONEER S TERMS & CONDITIONS OF SALE (Incorporating the Auctioneer s Terms and Conditions ) 1. The biddings to be regulated by the Auctioneers and the highest bidder, subject to the Vendor s reserve (if any), to be the purchaser. No bid shall be retracted and if any dispute should arise between two or more bidders, the Lot in dispute to be put up again and resold, or the Auctioneers may determine the dispute at their own discretion and their decision shall be final. The Auctioneers reserve the right to refuse the bid of any person without being called upon to give reason for such action. 2. The Purchaser to give his full name and dwelling place and pay for all Lots purchased immediately at the close of sale.
