7 5 GENERAL INFORMATION & SALE NOTES LOCATION see page 4 for directions. VIEWING The sale sheep are available for pre-sale viewing, please contact Mr John Sinnett to make arrangements. The sheep will also be available to view on the morning of the sale. ACCOMMODATION see page 4 for listing. CONDITIONS OF SALE The Pedigrees and Descriptions of each lot are believed to be correct. The flock will be sold under Dispersal Sale rules and no warranties of any sort are implied or given. FLOCK HEALTH STATUS All sheep are MV Accredited, all vaccinated for Schmallenberg and on Heptavac P system. PREGNANCY SCANNING The ewes and gimmers have ran with the respective ram as stated in the catalogue until sale day and will be scanned prior to sale day with the results being announced from the rostrum. GENOTYPE A random selection of sheep have been tested for Genotyping and all the results returned ARR/ARR. These sheep have been indicated with an asterix * against their registration number. For information purposes only, there is no guarantee for genotyping status is implied. EXPORT PURCHASE The Suffolk entries will be available for Export Purchase. Any lots for purchase to Northern Ireland will be available to go for Direct Export on sale day. Any lots for purchase to Europe (excluding Ireland as an additional MV test is required) must have all Export paperwork applied for at least 7 days prior to the sale. Intending purchasers must notify the Auctioneers of their interest to purchase to assist with the necessary importation licence requirements. All costs are borne by the purchaser. HAULAGE to the North of England and Scotland can be arranged, subject to the purchasers expense. Please notify the sales office on day of sale. REGISTRATION CERTIFICATES All stock in the Suffolk Sale are registered with the Suffolk Sheep Society. All paperwork will be available for collection on sale day. METHOD OF SALE All sheep will be sold in guineas (105 pence) and strictly in catalogue order, unless alteration is announced by the Auctioneers. COMMISSIONS The Auctioneers will dutifully execute commissions to purchase for buyers unable to attend the sale personally, upon receipt of written instructions. SETTLEMENT AND CLEARANCE OF STOCK Settlement in full is due immediately at the close of Sale. No animal may leave the Sale Premises without an official Pass Slip, obtainable only from the Auctioneers upon settlement. LUCK PENNY INSURANCE All Suffolk sheep sold will be insured at the fall of the hammer for One Month. REFRESHMENTS Available.

8 6 THE STOCKTON FLOCK The Stockton flock was founded in 1973 with the purchase of 13 ewes from the Earl of St Aldwyn. It was extended in 1975 by the purchase of 20 ewes from Perrinpit and again in 1980 with the purchase of a further 25 ewes from the Cressage Dispersal Sale. Additions have since been made from many of the country s top flocks. Stud rams have always been carefully selected either from our own production lines or from well-known flocks. Production sales of both males and females have been made on an annual basis either from home or through Society Sales and at Builth Wells. We have achieved some at-the-time world record prices selling Stockton Almighty for 75,000gns (to Glenho) and a ewe lamb for 23,000gns (to Cairness), still the record price for a ewe lamb. Over the years, the flock has had unique success in the National Flock competition having won the coveted Bristol Gold Cup on 5 occasions in 1991; 1993; 1994; 2004 and Historically in the show ring, including this year s season, we have enjoyed considerable and occasionally unique success usually we have chosen to take only one or two carefully selected individuals out to represent each age in the flock and we have not been stuck for choice as it could have been any one of several! We have won the Breed and Overall Supreme Interbreed Championships over many years at all of the major shows [Three Counties, The Royal; RHAS and RWAS]. The whole flock is being offered for sale as the farm has been sold and the partnership is being dissolved. We believe that the day affords an ideal opportunity for buyers to purchase foundation or replacement stock.

9 Service rams bought this time are probably the best selection that we have ever used because we believe that our ewes are the best bunch we ve ever had. This year s ewe lambs are quite exceptional and their counterpart ram lambs were also very good one of them taking top price of 15,500gns (to Rhaeadr) at the National Sale in Shrewsbury. There are 204 lots on offer today and they will be presented not in a traditional by-age manner but in runs which we hope will hold and spark interest. There are no notes to individual sheep other than to the three show winners as I believe that they all have potential to be show and sale winners of the future, they just never had the chance here!!
