5 AUCTIONEER S CONDITIONS OF SALE 1. The stock will be exposed according to the lots and numbers in the following catalogue and the highest offer on each lot will be preferred to the purchaser. 2. The pedigree and description of the lots are believed to be correct, but are not intended as a warranty and therefore shall be taken with all the faults and errors of description. 3. All animals are at the risk of the vendor before sale and at the risk of the purchaser after the sale. 4. The service dates, while believed to be correct, cannot however, be guaranteed. 5. The auctioneers reserves the right to accept bids from a vender and they reserve on behalf of themselves and of the vendor the following rights: a) To bid on behalf of a vendor c) To rearrange, consolidate or withdraw any lots or vary the order of sale and d) Without giving any reason therefore, to refuse to accept the bids of any person. 6. All sheep will be sold in euro gns ( ) 7. The person making the highest accepted bid shall be the purchaser 8. No bid shall be retracted 9. If a dispute arises as to any bidding, then at the discretion of the Auctioneer, either: a) The lot to which the disputed bid relates shall immediately be put up again, or b) The auctioneer shall determine the dispute, and their decision shall be final and binding on all parties. The purchaser shall, if and when required, give his name and address to the Auctioneers, and shall if required, pay to the Auctioneers the purchase money for each lot at the fall of the hammer, or so soon thereafter as the Auctioneer may require. 10. Purchasers paying by cheque must be prepared, if required, to produce a bankers reference. 11. No lots shall be removed from the sale premises until a written delivery order has been given by or on behalf of the Auctioneers. 12. Each lot shall, at the purchaser s expense, be removed from the sale premises within a reasonable time after the close of sale. 13. All statements in the catalogue or made by the auctioneer at the time of sale relating to any animal are believed to be correct. No sale shall be invalidated by reason of any defect or faults in any of the animals by reason of any of the animals being incorrectly described in the catalogue, or by the Auctioneer in the ring, and no compensation whatever shall be paid in respect of any faults or errors of description. 14. All shearlings and ewes are sold as having being scanned in lamb unless otherwise stated. 15. All animals are sold as they stand, the Purchaser is deemed to have examined each animal and fully satisfied himself about the animal prior to sale. 16. All Suffolk s in this sale are fully registered and eligible for immediate transfer to any Suffolk flock. Registration certificates will be given with all purchases. 3

6 GLYDE SUFFOLKS The Glyde flock was established in 1989, with 10 gimmers from the Moatfarrell flock of my late father, Denis. Over the years, we have achieved consistent success in both sale and show rings at national and local level. At our Branch Premier show and sale we have won the Group of 3, female and reserve overall Championships with ram lambs selling to 10,200gns, an Irish record at the time. Other rams have sold for 7,500gns, 5,000gns and numerous between 1,000gns and 3,000gns. Many rams have been purchased by fellow breeders in Ireland and a number have been sold to renowned flocks in Scotland and England has been another very successful year. At the National Championships in Kilkenny, we won first prize in three out of the five classes. Our stock ram, Burnview The Duke, won 1st prize in the shearling ram class, with a homebred ewe taking 1st prize in the senior ewe class. One of our top ewe lambs was awarded 1st prize in the ewe lamb class. At the Premier Show & Sale at Roscrea, a ewe lamb by Rookery Rodeo, won the Female Championship and achieved the top female price of 1,200gns. This was the second time in 3 years the Glyde flock was awarded Female Champion at the Premier Show & Sale. Also at this year s Premier Show & Sale, we were 3rd in the Open ram lamb class and 3rd in the Group of 3 for the second year in succession. We have always placed value on exhibiting at local shows, believing it is worth the time and effort to present our own stock and promote the breed itself. This year was successful for the flock, with various prizes including breed and interbreed championships being won at Dundalk, Athlone, Mullingar, Oldcastle, Tullamore & Virginia shows. Our flock consists of a relatively small number of ewes, with the emphasis strongly on quality rather than quantity. Over the years we have endeavoured to use the best genetics possible to breed the type of Suffolk we like. With that in mind we are delighted to offer females for sale which we are confident will do well in their new flocks. We would especially like to take this opportunity to express our thanks to the O Keeffe, Wilson and Gahan families for the opportunity to participate in this sale. 8 MALINHEAD SUFFOLKS FOREWORD Malinhead Suffolks was established in 1988 and later the Doherty Brothers flock was established. The females are run as a commerical flock. The flock has been successful at the Donegal Club sales and South of Ireland Branch Sales. 20 ANNAKISHA & CLYDA SUFFOLKS The Annakisha Flock, established in 1952 by the late Arthur O Keeffe and the Clyda Flock, founded by Susan O Keeffe in 1988 have won 18 Championships and 14 Reserves at the RDS and National Championships. Many other successes for both flocks followed, the most notable of recent years being; 11 Times winner of the Male and Supreme Champion at the Premier Show and Sale, 11 times Reserve 10 Times winner of Female Champion Premier Show and Sale 9 Times winner of the Group of Three Ram Lambs at the Premier Show and Sale, 10 Times Reserve 7 Times winner of Sire of the Year, 4 Times Reserve and 4 Times winner of Homebred Sire of the Year 19 Times winner of the Female of the Year, 18 times Reserve The Clyda flock was Reserve Bristol Gold Cup and won the Sainsbury Cup. We have not entered the Flock competition since 1999 due to time constraints.
