WPB: RFP for Repairing Division Street Fences -- ISSUED: November 2016

1 Intent The Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce and the Special Service Area #33, seeks a contractor to repair or replace sections of fences surrounding tree pits on Division Street that are part of the streetscape on Division Street, between the Kennedy Expressway and Damen Avenue. See Attachment A: WPB Boundary Map- The fences are within the area marked by the red rectangle. For more details of the existing damage to the fences including estimated measurements and photos, please see Attachment B: Existing Conditions of Division Street Fences. Scope of Work Each damaged section of fence is to be repaired if possible and replaced if missing or not able to be fixed. All fencing must be powder coated to protect the fences from rust. Additionally, all fencing must be to specifications required by Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT). It is recommended that the selected Contractor communicate with CDOT to ensure the proper specifications are met. All work must be completed with proper permits obtained from the CDOT by the selected vendor. All vendors must maintain and provide proof of proper insurance for full installation and repainting, as described herein. Once the work is complete, the area around the fence(s) must be returned to its original or better condition (broom swept) and the planting beds inside the fence(s) must also be restored to original or better condition post painting. Timeline November 8, 2016: RFP released November 29, 2016: Proposal due, via at NOON, NO EXCEPTIONS. December 8, 2016 : Winning vendor(s) informed of selection; contract(s) executed. Winter : Work on fences begins, weather permitting. Submission Requirements Please submit the proposal as a PDF by . Please include the following information: A detailed schedule and staffing needs for fence repair project. Details of fencing materials to be used for project details of any warranty or guarantee you provide on your work. Short description of your organization s capacity to obtain proper right-of-way permits to complete scope of work in full. Budget (details below) for project Three references who are familiar with your work in this field. Budget All proposals must include a complete budget, detailing the following factors: 1 P a g e

2 Cost of materials and list of tools to be used on project. Total amount of staff to be used for project; total cost of staff time. Cost per fence: Please break out the price/cost of fencing repair and replacement per tree pit, include the cost of enlarging the tree pit if necessary. Cost of obtaining proper permits and permission from governing entities (CDOT), public way, Alderman s Offices (1 st, 2 nd and 32 nd Ward).
