4 Welcome to the bsme netball championships Netball is undoubtedly the strongest sport at Brighton College Abu Dhabi: Not the strongest GIRLS sport but simply the strongest sport. No boys sport comes close to the success enjoyed by our girls teams over the last few seasons. The successes of our teams are as a result of a magic mix of outstanding coaching and rigourous preparation and organisation by our staff and some exceptional talent and team spirit amongst our girls. I am sure that the next two days of competition will bring out the very best in all that take part. I hope that this first BSME Netball tournament can be remembered for all the right reasons. On court girls should not be measured by their goal shooting accuracy or their marking skills we should judge them on the way they are humble in victory or gracious in defeat; think not what others think of your netball skills and instead be mindful of how others judge your character. I will finish if you may with my favourite short sporting quote from Mohamed Ali, Champions are not made in gyms. They are made from something they have deep inside them, a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have the skill, and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill.
