FIRST WIN IN THE HIVE The home opening night victory at New Orleans Arena against Cleveland improves the Hornets all-time opening night record to 11-10, and 7-1 since moving to New Orleans (2-0 in OKC, 5-1 in NOLA). SUNS NEVER LEAD IN HOME LOSS The Suns never led in their home loss to the Hornets. Phoenix had held a lead in its last 174 home games since losing to San Antonio on March 6, That had been the second longest current streak in the NBA behind the Spurs, who have led in their last 244 home games. PERFECT PRESEASON New Orleans finished the pre-season with a perfect record of 7-0 for the first time in franchise history. This is the first time an NBA team has gone undefeated in the pre-season since the Detroit Pistons went 8-0 in BEE-FENSE The Hornets held opponents to just 84.9 points per game during the preseason, while scoring 99.9 points in seven exhibition contests the 15-point average win margin included allowing opponents to hit on 40.8% of field goals, while New Orleans shot 46.6% during the preseason the Hornets averaged 10.0 steals per game, including a team-best 15 steals from Chris Paul. SELLING OUT: A sellout at the New Orleans Arena is nothing new these days the Hornets have sold out 14 of the last 15 games at home overall, they have had 21 sellouts since returning to New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. 4 HORNETS DON NEW DUDS In addition to a trio of new faces, the Hornets will debut new uniforms, new colors and new logos for the campaign Creole Blue, Deep Passion Purple and Mardi Gras Gold will make up the Hornets color scheme, and three new logos will be used to represent the team, including the Fleur-de-Bee, a logo that was featured on last year s uniform Below are the Hornets three new logos that will represent the Hornets connection to not only the city of New Orleans, but its tradition, flavor and textures : CP3 S YEAR Only one player (Steve Nash, last season) other than Chris Paul (11.6 assists, this season) has averaged at least 11.5 assists for a season in the last 13 years. Paul is the fourth player since the NBA started tracking steals in to lead the league in both assists and steals in a season. Paul is the first player in NBA history to lead the league in assists and steals while scoring 20 or more points per game. Paul is the first player ever to average at least 21 points, 11 assists and 2.7 steals per game he finished the season first in the NBA in assists and steals, becoming the first player to finish first in steals and assists since John Stockton in Chris Paul became the first player in 15 years to average at least 20 points and 10 assists (Tim Hardaway, GSW, 21.5 ppg, 10.6 apg, season).
