TREYJA: Peja Stojakovic has been a steady offensive weapon for the Hornets all season long over the past three games, Stojakovic has produced averages of 19.0 points, including 3.3 three-pointers a game and 7.7 rebounds. THE WRIGHT STUFF: Rookie Julian Wright has stepped up to the challenge and has helped the Hornets in a major way over the past seven games the former Jayhawk has hit for double-digits in points in four of the last seven games, including a career-high 20 points, 3/5 vs. ATL over the last seven games, Wright is averaging 11.3 points on 59 percent shooting (34-58 FG) and 4.7 rebounds in 22.4 minutes of action. LAST FIVE FOR CP: It is hard to put into words how great of a season Chris Paul is having, but his numbers definitely say more than enough over the past five games, CP3 is averaging 28.2 points on 59 percent shooting, including a 47 percent clip from three-point range, 14.4 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 2.6 steals. CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD: Tyson Chandler has been a beast on the boards all season long, especially over the past eight games Chandler is averaging 13.4 rebounds (5.0 offensive) to go along with 12.1 points on 53 percent shooting (40-76 FG) over the past eight games. 200 GAMES IN FOR CP: Chris Paul played the 200th game of his NBA career and handed out 18 assists as the Hornets topped the Hawks on 3/5...Paul's career total of 1,814 assists is the fifth-highest for any NBA player through the first 200 games of his career only Oscar Robertson (2,078), Kevin Johnson (1,853), Tim Hardaway (1,842) and Mark Jackson (1,829) had more assists at the 200-game mark than Paul. 5 MUCHO JANNERO: Jannero Pargo has been an integral part of the Hornets bench this season when given the minutes, he produces as evident of his 22 points, 3/5 vs. ATL in 30 minutes (his fifth 20+ point game this season) when Pargo plays 27 or more minutes, he is averaging 16.5 points on 47 percent shooting ( FG) and 4.1 assists in 11 games of 27+ minutes. DIVISION LEADERS AHEAD: The Hornets face the top team in the West (HOU) tonight and the top team in the East (BOS) Saturday night over their next two games their combined winning percentage is 75 percent (99-33). REUNITED AND IT FEELS SO GOOD: Newly acquired guard Mike James is teaming up with Morris Peterson once again the two were teammates during the season in Toronto and each player had their best season as a pro James averaged career highs in points (20.3 ppg), assists (5.8 asp), rebounds (3.3 rpg), field goal percentage (.469) and 3-point field goal percentage (.442) in 79 games (79 starts), while Peterson averaged a career-high 16.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 177 three-pointers made. THE WELL(S) IS NOT DRY: Newly acquired swingman Bonzi Wells should be a big factor off the bench for the Hornets the nine-anda-half year NBA veteran brings experience, scoring and rebounding to the team when given the minutes this season, Wells has produced in the 16 games Wells played 27+ minutes, he s averaged 15.9 points. IT S A WRAP: The All-Star Game put the city of New Orleans in the spotlight and it did not disappoint the Hornets had many representatives during the weekend on All-Star Saturday Night, Chris Paul finished second in the Skills Challenge, while Peja Stojakovic garnered a fourth place slot in the Three-Point Contest on Sunday, the Western Conference All-Stars, coached by our own Byron Scott, fell to the Eastern Conference All-Stars, David West contributed six points and four rebounds in 16 minutes, while CP3 put on a show, scoring 16 points, dishing out 14 assists and collecting four steals in 27 minutes. CP3 SHINES ON NATIONAL STAGE: Chris Paul did not disappoint in his first All-Star Game, leading the West back from 13-down in the fourth quarter, before falling in the final seconds Paul had 16 points and 14 assists, marking the first time a player has had 14+ assists in an All-Star Game since Jason Kidd (2000) in addition, Paul is just the fourth player in All-Star Game history to reach 14+ points and 14+ assists in the game (Magic Johnson-four times, Isiah Thomas-twice and Oscar Roberston-as a rookie in 1961). DUNK-O-METER: When you watch a Hornets game, chances are you are going to see Tyson Chandler throw down a dunk during the game whether it s an alley oop from Chris Paul or a follow up after an offensive rebound, TC has been dunking a lot overall, Chandler has 149 dunks this season, ranking him third in the NBA he 11 dunks behind the Suns Amare Stoudemire and 90 behind the Magic s Dwight Howard.
