3 Rockets vs. Cougars Saturday Nov 3, 2012 Game Time - 7:05 pm Tonight s Preview: The Kelowna Rockets play game two of a four game home stand tonight when they host the Prince George Cougars. This is the fourth meeting of the season between the two teams. Back on October 18 th Jordon Cooke made 32 saves in a 3-0 shutout win. Myles Bell scored twice in the victory. The Rockets are in three games against the Cougars, having out-scored them The Cougars make a return visit to Prospera Place on December 8 th. Overall, the Rockets have one regulation loss in their last seven games ( ) with the lone setback being a 5-3 loss in Edmonton last Saturday. Following tonight s game, the Rockets host Edmonton Wednesday and Red Deer Friday night. Reflecting on October: The Rockets were in 12 games in the month of October.Zach Franko has failed to take a penalty this season. In fact, Franko has taken just one minor penalty in his last 28 regular season games In the Rockets four losses in October, they allowed three or more goals. Marc McNulty (4) opened the scoring for the Cougars early in the second period with both Troy Bourke, and Alex Forsberg assisting. Mac Engel turned aside 23 of the 24 shots he faced in regulation and has now earned points in back-to-back games. It was the third game in a row where the Cougars have earned at least one point. LEADING THE PACK: Through 16 games, 19-year-old forward Colin Jacobs leads the team in goals (8), assists (10) and points (18). Jacobs also leads the team with eight power play points and four multi-point games. 18-year-old forward Zach Pochiro (3G, 5A) leads all Cougars rookies with eight points so far this season. 19-year-old forward Caleb Belter leads the Prince George Cougars in plus-minus with a +6 rating through 14 games. 20- year-old defenceman Dallas Ehrhardt leads all Cougars defencemen with seven points (1G, 6A) so far. 20-year-old defenceman Dan Gibb holds the team lead in penalty minutes with 26. COUGARS-ROCKETS: Tonight s game marks the fourth of eight meetings this season between the Prince George Cougars and the Kelowna Rockets. So far this season the Cougars are against Kelowna, having beaten them 6-3 on home-ice back on October 5 th in Prince George. Zach Pochiro (3G, 2A) leads all Cougars with five points in four games against Kelowna so far this season. Last season the Cougars were against the Rockets with both of their victories against Kelowna coming on the road at Prospera Place. COUGARS ROSTER BREAKDOWN: The Cougars have 24 players on the roster with 14 forwards, eight defencemen and two goalies. Cougars forward Colin Jacobs leads all Cougars with five goals scored on the road. 17-year-old forward Alex Forsberg is now just one point away from 50 for his young career. The Prince George Cougars have had somebody different score the game-winning goal in each of their first seven victories to start this season. 11 of the Prince George Cougars forwards have scored more than once so far this season. The Prince George Cougars are 2-1 this season in games that have required a shootout.
