12 U.S.Soccer Federation USSF is taking an active role in Youth Soccer. Both Jürgen Klinsmann, Jill Ellis and the national coaching staff are making changes for better player development nationally. Starting with 3 major initiatives. 1.Player Safety, Concussions Effective immediately 2.Calendar AGE determination Effective Fall Spring 2017 Season 3.Small Sided Mandates Effective Fall Spring 2018 season

14 1.Player Safety Concussion Awareness Heads-Up Concussion Awareness Form This is on-line and mandatory reading for registering a child in any youth soccer league. No heading for children 10 and under. DYSC In-House already had this rule Now indirect free kick for intentionally heading. CDC.gov on-line course the link is on our DYSC website. Please take this FREE course!

23 2. Calendar AGE Upcoming Fall Spring 2018 Season 2012 U U U U9 * 2008 U U U U U U15 DYSC is fielding U9 travel teams.

24 3. Small Sided Mandates To advance player development, it is proven that small sided games provide more touches and confidence with the ball for every player. Smaller field size with less players, increases ball movement allowing each player to have more opportunities to influence the game. USSF used models of player development from other countries and created the following set of rules specifically for all U.S. Youth Soccer Organizations

25 3. Small Sided Mandates 4v4 play for U6, U7 and now U8 7v7 play created for U9 and U10 9v9 play created for U11 and U12 11v11 play for U13 and older. These changes will begin in the Fall 2017 Spring 2018 Season

28 DYSC Club Update DYSC Player Development Program has continually evolved as the game and the soccer environment has changed. However, the central theme has, and always will be, we put our players first. DYSC Small Sided Coaching Philosophy will enhance our player development program and our Soccer Culture.

29 DYSC Training Staff DYSC Technical Training Staff has been growing and improving for over 10 years. ALL Travel and Premier teams have professional and USSF licensed Trainers. We have an effective Coaching Education program and regularly meet to find ways to improve soccer for all our players. Our Technical Coaching Staff is responsible for nurturing our Soccer Culture.

31 DYSC Club Upcoming Events Summer Soccer Camp July 24-28, M-F 5 to 8 pm, $100, T-shirt All professional trainers in groups IH Coaches volunteer free for your child. High School Camps late August Registration will be on-line Tryouts will be after Memorial Day. 5/30-6/9 Practice schedules will be changed and canceled so children can attend tryouts Registration will be on-line
