3 Page 3 GALVESTON COUNTY BENEFIT GOLF TOURNAMENT Please plan to participate in the planning meeting to be held for this year s 4 -H Benefit Golf Tournament and the County 4-H Recognition Event! Neither of these events can occur with out the concerted efforts of volunteers who believe in the 4-H Program and what it is doing for youth in your clubs. These two events are made even better when there is representation from each of the 4-H clubs in Galveston County. No one club has the monopoly on good ideas, creative leaders, or dedication. Everyone brings their one particular gift to the table. This meeting is open to adult volunteers, parents, and youth aged 12 and older. I look forward to your leadership! Please keep your eyes open for info on the date. Please attend if interested. You do not have to know anything about golf to assist with this important project. The Texas 4-H Youth Development Program is pleased to announce our state s participation in the event once more. Participants engage with some of the nations leaders through interactive workshops as well as general assemblies, tours, and recreational activities. In addition to youth participating in the educational components offered by National 4-H Congress, this event provides the opportunity for 4-H members to meet other 4-H members and learn about other leadership, citizenships, and project experiences conducted in other states. Applications for the 2015 National 4-H Congress will be accepted online through 4-H CONNECT from March 1 to March 31. From the applications, a slate of 4-H members will be chosen to participate in interviews during the Texas 4-H Roundup.
