3 Nolan County Fair & Rodeo T Shirt Design Contest for 2017 T Shirts Rules: 1. Design to be created on 8X10 white piece of paper. 2. Include 2017 Nolan County Fair & Rodeo on the design. 3. Entries must be turned in by Wednesday, October 6th fromnoon 7:00 p.m. at the Nolan County Coliseum Annex. 4. Entry fee is $ All ages can enter. If your design is selected by the Nolan County Fair & Rodeo Commi ee, the winner will be announced Saturday, October 8th at 6:00 in the Coliseum, and will receive $100 cash award. The design will be for the 2017 Nolan County Fair & Rodeo T Shirts. 4 2016 Nolan County Fair & Rodeo Nolan County Coliseum Annex Sweetwater, Texas Wednesday, October 5th Noon 7:00 p.m. Schedule Entries taken at the Annex Thursday, October 6th 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. Entries judged Friday, October 7th 10:00 a.m. 7:00 p.m. Entries open to public for viewing Saturday, October 8th 10:00 a.m. 7:00 p.m. Entries open to public for viewing All entries need to be picked up on Saturday, October 8th between 7:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. *Best of Show Winners will have a special recogni on me. *****The Best of Show Winners will have a special recogni on ceremony Saturday, October 8th at 6:00 p.m. in the Nolan County Coliseum. If you win your division, we would love to present your award to you at the awards ceremony, Saturday, October 8th at 6:00 p.m. You will have more instruc ons given to you during the Fair & Rodeo. 3

5 Judging 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m., Thursday, October 6th, 2016 RULES 1. Open to the public without regard to socioeconomic level, race, color, sex, religion, disability or na onal origin. 2. Entries will be accepted on Wednesday, October 7th from noon to 7:00 p.m. at the Coliseum Annex Building. Judging will take place on Thursday, October 6th from 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. 3. Exhibits will be on display Friday, October 7th, 10:00 a.m. 7:00 p.m.; and on Saturday, October 8th, 10:00 a.m. 7:00 p.m. Exhibits will need to picked up on Saturday, October 8th between 7:00 8:00 p.m. 4. Nolan County Fair & Rodeo will not be liable for exhibits during and a er Fair hours. 5. There will be a $1.00 fee per entry. Care home residents and school projects are not subject to a fee unless otherwise specified in division rules, such as the Art Division excep on. Proceeds from the entry fee charge will be used to purchase supplies. 6. There will be a youth and adult categories for each division. 7. We are not liable for exhibits le in the Building a er closing me of the Fair. Any items le a er 5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 9th, will be discarded as deemed necessary. 8. All entries shall be judged individually according to the score card standards. Superintendent will recommend appropriate division and/or category for entry. 9. Exhibits must be made by the Exhibitor, to compete for prizes. 10. Upon entry exhibits must be securely labeled by the Division Superintendent. 11. Youth 18 & under may enter ar cles in the Youth Division. 12. All canned foods must be in standard canning jars that have been properly processed canned to be accepted for exhibit. 13. All canned food must be canned since June 2016 and must be homemade. 14. BEST OF SHOW WILL RECEIVE A PRIZE. Your cash prizes will be given to you on Saturday evening. 15. Previous winners of Best of Show will only be accepted as an Exhibi on Division Entry. Exhibi on Division 1. No entry fee required. 2. Nolan County Fair will not be liable for exhibits during and a er Fair hours. 3. People s Choice Award will be chosen by the votes of spectators. 4. Refer to page 10 for exhibit categories. Awards and Prizes The BEST OF SHOW in each category will be selected from the First Place Winner of each sec on. A Best of Show will be awarded in each sec on. Best of Show for each division for youth and adults..$25 Ribbons awarded to 1st 3rd places. 4

10 5. ART SHOW DIVISION Scharles Kelley, Superintendent RULES 1. All entries must be crea ve, original work of the exhibitor and created in the last year. 2. Pain ngs will not be accepted with an OVER ALL size (canvas plus frame) larger than 26 inches by 38 inches. 3. The Exhibitor s name, address, age if youth, and category the pain ng is entered in should be a ached to the back of the entry. Any name on the front must be concealed un l a er the judging. 4. There will be no limit on number of entries. 5. Each exhibit must be brought in and registered from Noon 7:00 p.m. Wednesday. 6. There will be a $1.00 fee per entry for adults and youth. 7. A professional is considered to be persons who own businesses of said profession, teachers, instructors, or those conduc ng seminars. Ribbons, cer ficate and rose es will be awarded. 8. Pain ngs must be dry before entering. 9. Artwork has to be ready to be displayed. Each category par cipants may enter through any of the following sec ons: 2 Dimensional: 1. Mixed Media 2. Pain ng A. 11 6. PHOTOGRAPHY DIVISION Chris e Shaw, Superintendent RULES: Photographs must have been taken by the person entering the photograph. 1. Entries will be limited to 3 per sec on. 2. ALL PHOTOGRAPHS MUST BE SECURELY MOUNTED DIRECTLY ON TOP OF WHITE POSTER BOARD RECOMMENDATIONS: *5x7 picture mounted on 8X10 white poster board *8X10 picture mounted on 11X14 white poster board. No poster boards larger than 11X14. Photographs should be no larger than 8 x10 and no smaller than 3 x5. The Division Superintendent reserves the right to reject any photography not mounted correctly and photos that do not comply with the General Rules. 1. Name, address, will be affixed to the photography a er judging. 2. Entries should be photographs taken in the past 12 months and not previously entered in the fair. 3. A professional judge will be judging the photography exhibits. Best of Show for Adults and Youth will receive a prize. The judge s decision is final. 4. Exhibits must remain un l pick up me.
