1 2016 WARREN COUNTY FAIR EXHIBIT HALL RULES & CLASSES CHAIRMAN: ARDELL MIKUS Note: Any exhibits in any department that are re entered from previous fairs will be disqualified. Monday, June 27th Receive FFA and open class exhibits from 9 11 a.m. And 5 8 p.m. Household Arts, Household Science, Fine Art, Junior Division, Woodworking, Handcrafts, And Agriculture Department. Wednesday, June 29th Receive all open class Floriculture, Horticulture, And Houseplants from 9 11 am. Sunday, July 3rd All exhibits released from 8 10 a.m. Items not Picked up will forfeit premiums. Exhibit Hall Hours: Tues. 6 9 p.m., Wed p.m., Thurs. & Fri. 4 9 p.m. & Sat. 10 a.m. 9 p.m. GENERAL RULES 1. Judging of exhibits will be Tuesday, June 28th in the morning. 2. Flower judging will be done immediately after entry on Wednesday morning June 29th. 3. All exhibitors will be permitted to enter only one item in each class. All articles must be the work of the exhibitor. 4. All items entered must have been completed from July 4, 2015 and July 4, No entries will be allowed that have been previously entered in a Warren County Fair. 6. The Warren County Fair will not be responsible for damages or loss of any item that may occur, but all precautions will be taken to prevent loss or damage. Coordinators will not be responsible for unclaimed money or items. 7. All judging will be done on the basis of the quality of each entry and not just the class entered. In classes with one exhibit, first place will be awarded if the judges feel the exhibit is worthy. 8. The Best of Show placing is reserved for the judge s choice for most outstanding entry in listed classes. 9. Entries are open to all residents in Warren and adjoining counties.

6 HOUSEHOLD SCIENCE Household Science Special Rules: 1. All food entries must be made by the exhibitor. 2. Homemade breads, rolls, cookies, and candies must be entered on a heavy paper plate and covered with clear plastic wrap or clear plastic bag. A sample must be provided in a separate bag. 3. All decorated cakes must use forms or pans. Cake boards should not exceed 1 margin on each side of the cake pan or form. Must use royal icing or fondant only. Real cakes or buttercream icing displays containing these items will not be accepted for entry. 4. All canned goods must be in standard canning jars, sealed with two piece lids, and less than one year old. Bands should be in place for transporting jars but will be removed for judging. Entries must be labeled with product name, date of preparation, processing method, length of processing time and recipe source. 5. Example of qualified label: Snap Beans 7/20/2016 Pressure Canned 10 pounds 25 Minutes Ball 6. All foods must be processed according to USDA, Ball, Kerr. No craft or paint by number pictures or purchased items accepted. 2. Exhibitors will be permitted to enter only one entry in each class. 3. All judging will be done on the basis of the quality of each entry. 4. All paintings, drawings, and sketches must be framed, mounted or equipped for hanging. 5. All photographs must be matted with a single mat board that is not larger than 11 x 14 or mounted on a foam board. 6. Photographs must not be smaller than 5 x 7 and not larger than 8 x No framed photography will be accepted. 8. Photographs must be placed in a zip lock style bag to protect from dust and moisture. 15 FLORICULTURE & HORTICULTURE Floriculture and Horticulture Notes: All exhibitors must enter at main gate. Take exhibits to the exhibit hall for registration. Please exit at main gate immediately after exhibit is registered if you do not want to be charged admission. Thank you for your participation and we re sorry for any inconvenience. Special Rules : 1. All Floriculture and Horticulture accepted from 9 11 am Wednesday, June 29th. Judging will be held immediately after. 2. Exhibitors must be amateurs and flowers must be homegrown. No artificial flowers except for specified classes. 3. Natural foliage is allowed in most arrangements and with all horticulture exhibits. Appearance of exhibit is important. 4. Arrangements must be shown in a suitable vase or container. 5. Horticulture and rose exhibits are to be shown only in clear glass bottles or jars suitable to size of specimen displayed. 6.
