2 Horticulture ENTRY SCHEDULES These are automatically sent each year to the previous year s exhibitors. If you miss a year, please tell us at the show or by post to be sure of getting a schedule. COMPETITORS will not be allowed to make more than one entry in any one class. ALL PRODUCE exhibited must be grown by the exhibitor. ENTRY FEES Classes 1, 2, 50, 51, 114 See schedule. Classes p per class Five entries or more see Entry Form Classes p per class Five entries or more see Entry Form STAGING & ACCESS HORTICULTURAL EXHIBITORS must provide their own vases and are urged to name their varieties wherever possible. People like to know. EXHIBITS FOR ALL CLASSES may be delivered and staged after 1pm on Friday and before 9.00am on Saturday. Late and Additional Entries must be booked in by 8.45am and staged by 9.00 when the marquee will be closed for judging EXHIBITORS CARDS should be collected and checked and placed by each exhibit. They will be available on Friday after 1pm and before 9.00am Saturday morning in the Horticultural Marquee EXHIBITORS DELIVERING exhibits on Friday Must Park close to the marquee to avoid obstructing Emergency Vehicle access. Access on Saturday and Sunday is only from the car park outside the perimeter fence that has an entry gate at the rear of the Horticulture marquee. No Person, Trade, Judge or private individual, will be able to leave a vehicle on the site after unloading. JUDGING & PRIZES JUDGING will be conducted under RHS, RNRS, BFS, NCS, NDS, or NVS rules, unless otherwise stated. ALL VEGETABLES will be judged according to the latest edition of the RHS Horticultural Show handbook in respect of their condition, size and uniformity. All vegetables may be washed. JUDGING Cookery and Handicraft will be judged according to W.I On with the Show latest handbook. STEWARDS may move exhibits at any time if necessary. PROTESTS and objections must be made in writing by 2.00 pm Saturday to the Horticulture marquee staff. POINTS for the Challenge Trophies will count as follows: 1st 5 points 2nd 3 points 3rd 1 point NO TRADE cards must be placed on exhibits until after the judging The Committee reserves to itself the right to vary the prizes according to the number and quality of the exhibits. PRIZE MONEY may be collected from the Horticultural Marquee any time Sunday on production of the exhibitor s Claim Card. If you are unable to attend on Sunday please arrange for someone to collect your exhibits on presentation of your exhibitor s Claim Card. TROPHIES will be presented at the Prize Giving in the Horticultural Marquee at 4.30pm on the Sunday of the show. Trophy winners will need to make themselves known to the Horticulture Marquee staff on arrival on Sunday. END OF SHOW No Exhibits may be removed from the Horticulture Marque until after the Prize Giving on Sunday (17.30hrs) Exhibitors are requested to remove their exhibits before 6.30pm after which time they will be disposed of. BUREE PERPETUAL CHALLENGE CUP Exhibit of Horticultural Produce entered by Trade Exhibitor. Maximum space allowed 20ft x 8ft. (Orders may be taken). Large Gold, Gold, Silver, or Bronze Medal Cards may be awarded at the discretion of the judges. Goods may be sold from a Supplementary Stand, not exceeding 6ft, adjacent to the exhibit. Please indicate on Entry Form if required. Please state number of 6ft x 2ft trestle tables required. NOTE: Exhibit, excluding selling space, MUST NOT exceed 20ft. (Even overhanging foliage is enough to disqualify.) ENTRY FEE Prize Money: 1 st nd rd - 15 SPECIAL NOTE: Goods from the Exhibits class 1 must not be disposed of until after 4pm on the second day of the show. Exhibitors must undertake their own sales. Under new safety regulations, trade vehicles will be parked in the car park outside the perimeter fence at the rear of the marquee. THE LES PACKER TANKARD for the Best Vase of Medium Dahlias in the show RHS BANKSIAN MEDAL for the highest prize money in horticulture (previous two years winners excluded). FLORAL ART SECTION Flower arranging Exhibitors to provide their own vases or containers Class Entries can only be assembled in or delivered to the marquee on Friday between 1500hrs and 1830hrs or on Saturday between 0730hrs and 0845hrs Class 61 THEME : The Oval - Cricket and Tea ENTRY FEE 50p PER CLASS Prize Money An arrangement using fresh Flowers and Foliage, 1st 3 2nd rd 1 Space allowed 24x24 inches Height 36 inches, Accessories permitted. 7 CRAFT SECTION Only ONE exhibit per person per class 1 Entries must not previously been exhibited at The Egham Royal Show 2 All entries submitted should be clean and fresh but should not have been washed or dry- cleaned. 3 Please include a Ball Band or Yarn Type in the knitting classes Baby s garments, no Ribbons allowed. 4 Details of the exhibit may be submitted with the work.
