Class 72 Jubilee Top Vase (for Trophy) A vase of mixed flowering stems containing a total of between 5 and 10 stems, taken from a minimum of 2 different KINDS of plants: 2 varieties of the same plant are NOT 2 kinds. Only fresh HOMEGROWN flowers may be used. Stems used must show flowers only and not berries or seed heads. The vase can be any shape, size and be in proportion to the display. There are no marks for the vase. No accessories, or additional foliage will be allowed. Only foliage which is attached naturally to the flowers will be allowed. Packaging material including floral foam to keep the stems in place is allowed. The vase will be viewed from all directions. 4

7 Section K Cookery continued Round Fruit cake 129 Sultana Malt Cake see recipe Cornish Pasties ( 5 First Prize) Fish Cakes 132 Traditional Ploughman s Lunch 134 Jar of Mincemeat 135 Jar of Jam name variety 13 Jar of Marmalade 137 Fruit Spirit bottle of alcoholic beverage - name variety Apple and Cinnamon Layer Pudding 200g/8oz Self Raising flour Pinch of Salt 100g/4oz Shredded Suet Cold Water to mix 450g/1lb Apples 50g/2oz Sultanas 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon Sugar to sweeten For the pastry mix flour, salt and suet, add sufficient cold water to make a pliable dough. Turn the dough onto a floured board and knead lightly. Allow to rest for a few minutes before rolling out. Divide pastry into four pieces and roll out into circles, each one a little larger than the last. Peel and slice apples, mix with sultanas, cinnamon and sugar. Grease a 2 pint basin, place smallest circle of pastry in the bottom, add a layer of fruit mixture, and continue the layers, ending with a layer of pastry. Cover and steam for 2 hours, turn out and dredge with caster sugar. Sultana Malt Cake 200g/8oz Self Raising flour 1tsp Bicarbonate of Soda 2 tbsp Golden Syrup 2tbsp Malt Extract ½ pint Milk 1 Egg 100g/4oz Sultanas Sift flour and bicarbonate of soda. Melt syrup, malt extract and milk together. Beat egg and add to flour with liquid. Add sultanas and pour mixture into greased 1lb loaf tin. Bake in moderately hot oven F, C, gas mark 4-5 for minutes. 7

Class 198 The Life Of A Cupcake They put me in the oven to bake. Me, a deprived and miserable cake. Feeling the heat, I started to bubble. Watching the others, I knew I was in trouble. They opened the door and I started my life. Frosting me with a silver knife, Decorating me with candy jewels. The rest of my batch looked like fools. Lifting me up, she took off my wrapper. Feeling the breeze, I wanted to slap her. Opening her mouth with shiny teeth inside, This was the day this cupcake died. 10

11 RULES 1. Exhibits must be placed in the Marquee between 5pm and 7pm on Friday 29 th July or between 8am and 11am on Saturday 30 th June. 2. No Exhibit to be removed from the Marquee before 5.00pm and to be cleared by.30pm on Sunday 1 st July after which any articles left will be disposed of. No vehicles will be allowed onto the showground before 5.00pm on Sunday 1 st July. The committee will not be responsible for the loss of or damage to the exhibits or containers. Where possible, exhibitors are advised to mark the underside of containers. 3. Plants in Pots: Pots shall not exceed 10 (inside diameter) unless otherwise stated. 4. Judges decision is final as regards the merit of the exhibit(s). 5. All produce must be exhibitor s own growing.. No one shall be present in the Marquee during judging, except Judges and Stewards. Judging will commence at 12 noon on Saturday 30 th June. The Marquee will be open from 10am on Sunday 1 st July for viewing. 7. The judges decision shall be final and he/she has the power to vary the number of prizes according to merit. In the event of a tie for a trophy, competitors will each hold it for an equal period. 8. All trophies are perpetual challenge trophies and cannot be won outright. All trophies remain the property of Wrangle Show and holders are held responsible for any loss or damage incurred while in their possession. All trophies to be returned to the Committee by 20 th June Prize money will be available after 4.30pm on Sunday 1 st July. 10. Points awarded: 1 st 4 points, 2 nd 2 points, 3 rd 1 point. 11. All objections must be made in writing by 3pm on Sunday 1 st July 2018 and handed to the Marquee Secretary, together with a deposit of 1 which will be returned if the objection is upheld. 14. All exhibits must be clean, free from private marks and conform strictly to the schedule. 11
