3 Date: Saturday May 24 th, 2014 Location: Excelsior Springs High School Tiger Stadium 612 Tiger Drive (612 Lynn Rd) Excelsior Springs, MO Phone # / Fax # General Meet Information There will be a coaches meeting in the high school gymnasium at 10:00 AM. All jobs assignments must be filled by coaches! The bullpen will be located at the NW end of the track (at the start of the 100). An athlete will be given a hip number to be placed on the left hip. NO FOOD, GUM, OR SUNFLOWER SEEDS ALLOWED ON THE TURF. Only athletes and meet officials may enter the field of competition. Athletes and officials may enter the track on either end of the home stretch. There will be designated coaching boxes for high jump and pole vault as they will be contested in an area that is not easily accessible from the stands or outside the fenced area. Athletes not currently participating in an event must remain outside the fenced area (unless warming up for an event). Coaches not currently officiating or coaching a high jump or pole vault participant must also remain outside the fenced area. All MSHSAA rules will apply to uniforms, electronics (including video, cell phone, etc ), and jewelry. Team camps may NOT be set up in the stands on either side of the stadium. Please be courteous of fans in those areas. Tents can be set up in grassy areas surrounding the stadium and around the school. There are level, grassy areas south of the visitor stands on the east side of the stadium, south of the discus field on the top of the hill west of the stadium and around the north side of the high school and career center. Meet results will be posted on the railing at the back of the press box. In accordance with the MSHSAA guidelines, admission cost is $5 per person. Entry Information Sectional qualifiers are automatically uploaded to the Sectional 4 Track and Field Championships. There will be no Sectional Meet entry form to turn in; however, coaches have from Monday prior to the Sectional Meet to Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. to scratch an individual participant and confirm relay names on the online entry website (

4 Running Event Information With only 8 competitors, there will be no preliminaries. FAT will be used, with back up timers and pickers if needed. The 4x800, 800m, 1600m, and 3200m will utilize a one-turn stagger start. The 4x400 will utilize a three-turn stagger start. Relays are not to use tape on the track. Tennis balls are encouraged. Athletes must use 1/4 or less pyramid spikes. Field Event Information All field events must report when called. Be sure to check in with the event judge. Shot and discus are located in the throws area behind the press box. This area is accessible through a gate located at the top of the home stands in the northwest corner. Coach s boxes will be designated in the throws area. Long jump and triple jump runways are located directly behind the press box. Only athletes and coaches will be permitted inside the jumps area. A coach s box will be designated in the jumps area. High jump and pole vault are located inside the stadium. The high jump apron is at the north end of the field and a coach s box will be provided as there is no access to athletes for this event from outside the fence. Pole vault will use an elevated runway in the middle of the football field also with a coach s box designated. Prior to competition, each shot and discus must be inspected and approved by the head field event judge. Implement weigh-in will take place during the coaches meeting and will be located outside the press box at the north end (closest to the entry gate to the throwing area). Competitors in the shot put, discus, long jump and triple jump will be placed into 1 flight in reverse order of qualification (by distance, not place). These competitors will be allowed 4 attempts. Opening heights for the high jump and pole vault will be determined at the coach s meeting. Poles will need to be checked in by a meet official and this will take place near the pole vault competition area. Scoring, Awards, and Qualification Information Scoring will be for individual and relay events. However, no team awards are given. Top 4 place finishers will earn medals and advance to the Class 3 or Class 4 State Championships at Lincoln University in Jefferson City on May 30 and 31. All awards will be available in the press box upon completion of the final event. Results will be posted on trxctiming
