1 RUNNING DISTANCES: MARATHON HALF-MARATHON RECREATIONAL RUN 1. LOCATION and DATE: Portorož - Sunday, 10 April RUNNING PATHS: municipalities of Koper, Izola and Piran. 3. ORGANISER: Društvo Istrski maraton (Association Istrian marathon) and co-organisers. 4. GENERAL SPONSOR: Banka Koper. 5. RUNNING DISTANCES: a) Marathon: m; Portorož - Izola - Koper - Izola - Piran - Portorož. b) Half-marathon: m; Koper - Izola - Piran - Portorož. c) Recreational run: m; Portorož - Strunjan - Piran - Portorož. Shorter runs for children and youth will take place on Saturday, 9 April Prior registration and registration fee payment will not be necessary. These runs will be presented at a later date. 7. NUMBER OF RUNNERS FOR EACH RUNNING DISTANCE: a) Marathon: 500 runners. b) Half-marathon: 2,000 runners. c) Recreational run: 1,500 runners. 8. REGISTRATION: a) Individual registrations for the runs will be accepted until 6 April 2016 through the registration form available on the website In case of free places, it will be possible to register in the registration office (Avditorij Portorož) on the day of the event. The registration becomes valid after the payment of the registration fee.

2 b) Group registrations will be accepted until 31 March 2016 through the registration form available on the website The registration becomes valid after the payment of the registration fee. 9. REGISTRATION FEE: i. The registration fee for all running distances includes: a technical T-shirt, a coupon for a hot meal, refreshments along the trail and at the finish line, and a medal received at the finish line. The registration fee includes also the cost of a single use chip, received by all participants as part of the race bib. Participants will not be able to run with their own chips (Champion Chip). ii. Group registrations are valid for groups of at least 8 persons. The payment confirmation statement must be attached to the group registration form, or the registration will not be valid. The association or club or team leader makes the group registration and payment (if the group is not organised in the context of a legal person). 3 IMPORTANT NOTICE: The registration becomes valid after the payment of the registration fee. The last day for registration and payment is Tuesday, 6 April 2016, or until the dates and at prices indicated in the table above, or until the fulfilment of available places. Registration fees paid after 6 April 2016 or after the announcement of the maximum number of runners reached will not be returned. Until 31 March 2016 the cancellation and registration fee refund are possible without a medical certificate, however, administrative costs of 5 euros will be charged. Later cancellation and registration fee refund will be possible only upon presentation of a medical certificate, administrative costs of 5 euros will be charged. The last day for the submission of the registration fee refund request is 15 April In case of cancellation of the event due to greater force or other reasons, which the organizer cannot control, all registered participants will receive a package with various materials. 10. 4 12. HEALTH and RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PARTICIPANTS Participants take part in the running competition at their own risk. Parents and guardians are responsible for underage participants. Medical help will be available along the trails and in the finish line area. By submitting the registration form, participants affirm that all the given data is real. They affirm to be healthy, in good physical condition to participate in the run and medically examined. They will follow the organiser s instructions and participate in the competition at their own risk. 5 13. RUNNING TRAILS: Marathon (Portorož, Izola, Koper, Izola, Piran, Portorož) The start/finish line is in Portorož, at the crossroads between the rose garden and the supermarket Mercator. Runners run along both driving lanes to Lucija, turning at the crossroads into Podvozna cesta on the Parencana trail. The slightly rising Senčna pot leads to the tunnel Valeta and through it. Then a gentle descent to the Strunjan valley follows. Near the underpass in Strunjan, runners keep right and continue along the Parencana trail towards Izola, through the tunnel Šalet, and down a slight descent to Livade. The path leads through vineyards to Južna cesta, where runners cross the pontoon bridge, take a sharp turn left and continue along Južna cesta. They run along the right driving lane to Simonov zaliv and the beach, then along the coastal footpath to the Izola Marina and Lonka. The path takes to the lighthouse, and then along Kopališka ulica, Ulica ob pečini and Zustovičeva ulica to Cankarjev drevored (Cankar Avenue), where runners continue along the pavement. The Parencana trail passes the campsite Jadranka and continues towards Koper. The path leads along Semedelska cesta into Pristaniška ulica, down Kopališko nabrežje past the passenger terminal, down Vojkovo nabrežje and again along Pristaniška ulica to the Banka Koper headquarters (the half-marathon start line). Runners run along the right driving lane of Piranska cesta, at the roundabout near Semedela they turn right into the coastal road (Istrska cesta) and run to Izola. At the roundabout at the entrance of Izola, runners turn right and run along Cankarjev drevored (Cankar Avenue) to the city centre, and continue along Drevored 1. maja, Dantejeva ulica, Morova ulica then crossing Prešernova cesta they reach Južna cesta. After 400 meters they turn right on the Parencana trail. The path leads through the tunnel Šalet to the Strunjan valley, where runners go through the underpass under the coastal road and turn right near the campsite. They follow the direction towards Beli Križ, and go up Belokriška cesta past the Salinera Hotel, then turn right at the third curve into the forest above the coastline. After 800 meters of forest trail, there is another ascent to Pacug, and then a steep descent down the Slope of Love (Klanec ljubezni) towards Fiesa. The footpath leads along the coastline to Piran, and along Ulica IX. korpusa to Tartini Square in the centre of Piran. Runners go along Cankarjevo nabrežje and Dantejeva ulica, in Fornače they keep right and run along the sea line past the parking lot to Bernardin. Passing Bernardin and reaching the coastal road, runners turn right and continue down the pavement and cycling track on the coastal side past the former warehouses of salt. 6 Half-marathon (Koper, Izola, Piran, Portorož) The start line is in Koper in Pristaniška ulica, near the Banka Koper headquarters. Runners run along the right driving lane of Piranska cesta, at the roundabout near Semedela they turn right into the coastal road (Istrska cesta) and run to Izola. At the roundabout at the entrance of Izola, runners turn right and run along Cankarjev drevored to the city centre, and continue along Drevored 1. maja, Dantejeva ulica, Morova ulica then crossing Prešernova cesta they reach Južna cesta. After 400 meters they turn right on the Parencana trail. 8 TIME BARRIERS: - Recreational run: finish line 3 hours. - Half-marathon: finish line 4 hours. - Marathon at 21km in Koper (start line 21km) - 2:50 hours, in Strunjan at 34 km 4:40 hours, finish line 6 hours. After 4 pm, race times will no longer be recorded and trails will not be secured. Runners will be redirected to pavements and will be obliged to follow traffic regulations. 14. AWARDS and AWARD CEREMONY: The public award ceremony for each running category will take place at the Portorož beach one hour after the arrival of the last participant at the finish line. The three highest ranked participants in each category, barefoot run included, will receive medals. The three highest ranked participant in the absolute category, women and men, will receive cups. Female participants over 65 years (1951 and older) and male participants over 75 years (1941 and older) will receive special recognitions. Participant who will not collect their recognitions, medals or cups at the public award ceremony, will be able to do so in accordance with the head of the registration office, Tina Kofol, , until 24 April Afterward, participant will no longer be entitled to receiving their awards. Official results will be announced on the website and in the start/finish line area on the day of the event. Participants will be able to print their own memorial recognitions with the reached time from the website after the announcement of the results. 15. COMPLAINTS: The organiser will accept complaints in Portorož (Avditorij Porotorž) in a specifically indicated area 20 minutes after the announcement of the results. 16. PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA: The organiser ensures the protection of personal data, which will be used exclusively for registration and information purposes, and for the announcement of the results. The organiser guarantees that the participants data will not be handed over to a third party. In case of ambiguity at registration, the organiser reserves the right to contact a participant through means of distance communication. With the registration, participants allow the organiser to collect and use the personal data, given at the moment of registration. The organiser permanently stores the given data in a secured and protected computer system. In case of a break into the computer system, the organiser does not bear any responsibility. The organiser will use and store the personal information in accordance with the law for the protection of personal data (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia no. 94/07). 9 statistical analyses, and for sending offers, promotional material and invitations to similar events. The given personal information may be stored and processed by the organiser for an unlimited time, or until a participant s written revoke. Participants have all the rights in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, no. 98/04, 114/06, 126/07, 86/09, 78/11 and 38/14). IMPORTANT NOTICE: By submitting the registration form, participants accepts the terms and conditions of the execution of the event, its individual activities and running distances described in this notice. Participant also agree with the publication of their photos, audio and video recordings, and personal data for promotional, documentary and artistic purposes without requesting any refund. 17.
