Soil: Silty Clay Loam Notes: 2013 = The hot and dry weather did not affect the 2013 crop as much, but on August 7th a severe hail storm with rain blew through the plot taking the tops out of all varieties. I believe the later maturity varieties suffered more yield damage the the earlier varieties. The plot was also irrigated 1 time. 2012: Though we had drought conditions in 2012, as soil reserve moisture ran out, we were able to irrigate the plot in order to insure more "normal" growing conditions and yields. 2011: The early frosy of September 15, 2011 affected this plot also. I have separated out the 2013 plot results. The first 2 columns of yield and % of Average are for the entire plot. The next 2 yield columns for 2013 break out yield by maturity groupings 2013 Protein scores look to be running a little higher than normal.

However, a killing freeze on September 15, killed all varieties in this plot except the very early maturing Group 0 soybeans varieties 2010 was the last year when weather did not affect the maturity, yield or harvest timeline of the plot. I have broken down 2013 plot yields. The first 2 yield columns are entire plot yields and % of plot averages. The second 2 columns with the brakets, breaks the yields and % of plot averages down by maturity group.
