All Forms (i.e. membership, trip, and waivers) can also be found on the website at Board Meetings Board Officers meeting is held the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 pm at the Dunham Public Library in Whitesboro. 3 NOTES FROM THE PRESIDENT September 2018 Hello Club members and friends, Yes, it is time to start thinking and planning MORE about Ski & Snowboard related things is the first meeting for this season. I would like to thank Andy Reath for his many years of contributions to the Club and to the Board. Andy, we thank you for your passion to the sport of skiing and for your efforts in supporting and promoting the Club in many ways. Thank you for being a source of knowledge and advice to the club. We'll miss you at the Board meetings. You can still stop in for a late dinner at 99 Restaurant. I'm sure we'll see you at meetings and on the slopes! At least one Trip is full, but there is a waiting list. Others are open like our trip to Snowmass/Aspen. And the contest we're running is like nothing we've done before! See more in the Newsletter. Remember, we now have added, MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL via an On-Line method in addition to Renewal of Membership in person at the Membership meeting. Look for the article in this Newsletter. Did you know that once again we will NOT be charging for admission to Member meetings! Plus, we still have door prizes and the 50/50 Raffle. Come on in. BRING a friend and introduce them to the club and show them the TRIP Table. Give them a copy of the Club Events sheet for this season. Reminder: Sept. 25th is the one unusual meeting day. Normally it is the 3rd Tuesday of the month. But for September, we have it on the 4th Tuesday. Let's also keep some prayers for healing for several of our members; Jeannine Murtaugh-Reath, Pat Tahan and Jerry Gortner and Andy Reath too. Our VP, Jerry has arranged a Guest Speaker for September. Nick, from Snow Ridge, will give a quick talk about some new things there. Come learn what's new about them! We always have a fun time whenever we visit them. Look for the Event Sheet in the Newsletter to see scheduled events this season and ADD THEM in your own calendar for the season. This sheet will change as more dates are added from our Ski Councils that we are affiliated with. Watch for us on Facebook and give us some "likes"; it helps in promoting our club. May I ask all members to INVITE their Facebook friends (even the ones that don t ski, they may have children that do ) to LIKE our Facebook page. 16 Frequently Asked Questions / More Info: 2019 WESTERN TRIP Mount Bachelor, Bend, Oregon Sat, February 23 Sat, March 2, 2019 $1,856 per person Trip Insurance is strongly recommended. Contact your trip leaders or Tracey Clemens at , tracey@ski.com if you need help with this. You must be a member of Onondaga Ski Club to participate in this trip There is a three hour time difference in Bend: Noon in Syracuse = 9:00 am in Bend The drive from Portland to Bend is 3 hours. There is a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker in each room, we are holding King and Queen/Queen rooms. Free Wi-Fi is provided at the hotel. Meals are your own responsibility, except for daily breakfast and the pizza party included in your package price. There are a number of restaurants in walking distance from the hotel, since we are in the downtown area. There is a 25% discount at the NW Press Bar near the Doubletree. The distance to the mountain from Bend is 22 miles, a minute drive. Shuttles specifically for hotel guests run to Mt. Bachelor at 8:15 and 10:00am. Return times are 2:00 pm and 4:15pm. There are also community shuttles available, which run every ½ hour till 5:00pm and are free for ski club members. However, the community shuttles drop you 1 mile from the hotel.
