2 FRATERNAL ORDER OF EAGLES FLORIDA STATE AERIE HALL OF FAME PREAMBLE PURPOSE The Fraternal Order of Eagles, Florida State Aerie, has a long and rich tradi on of social and charity accomplishments. It is only fi ng that the organiza on remembers, recognizes, and honors the outstanding achievements and contribu ons of its members. NAME Therefore, hereby is established a FRATERNAL ORDER OF EAGLES, FLORIDA STATE AERIE, HALL OF FAME to create a las ng tribute to those who have brought honor to themselves, the Florida State Aerie and our fraternity.

3 FRATERNAL ORDER OF EAGLES FLORIDA STATE AERIE HALL OF FAME BY-LAWS ARTICLE I - SELECTION COMMITTEE Sec on 1. There is hereby established a selec on commi ee of the Florida State Aerie. Such commi ee shall be composed of all living current Hall of Fame members. Sec on 2. The selec on commi ee shall select a Chairman and Recording Secretary from within its members. ARTICLE II MEETINGS Sec on 1. The annual mee ng of the selec on commi ee for the purpose of elec on of officers for the ensuing year and selec on of candidates for enshrinement into the Florida State Hall of Fame shall be held in conjunc on with the annual Florida State Conven on. Sec on 2. The selec on commi ee shall present plaques and name tags to those members selected for enshrinement during the Florida Mid-Winter Conference. ARTICLE III ELIGIBILITY Sec on 1. Any member in a local Aerie in the State of Florida, who has accumulated not less than fi een (15) years of membership in the Fraternal Order of Eagles and is in good standing on the rolls of a local Florida Aerie, is eligible for nomina on. Sec on 2. In case of a deceased member, such member shall have been in good standing on the rolls of the local Aerie at the me of his demise with not less than fi een (15) years of membership in the Fraternal Order of Eagles to be eligible for nomina on. Sec on 3. To be eligible, a prospec ve nominee shall, during the course of their membership in the Fraternal Order of Eagles, demonstrated outstanding character, leadership and service to the

4 Florida State Aerie together with dedica on to the principles of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. ARTICLE IV - PROCEDURE FOR SELECTION Sec on 1. Each local Florida Aerie may sponsor one (1) candidate for nomina on to the Florida State Hall of Fame. Such sponsorship is not limited to the members in the sponsoring Aerie, but can be from any Aerie within the state of Florida. Sec on 2. The nominee recommended must be approved by a mo on on the membership floor at a regular Aerie membership mee ng. Sec on 3. The local Aerie Secretary shall furnish the Florida State Hall of Fame Recording Secretary a short one-page resume/le er of recommenda on including a statement that the member being recommended meets all the eligibility requirements. It shall be a ested too, with the proper Aerie seal and the signatures of the local Secretary and Worthy President. Sec on 4. All submissions must be received by the Florida State Hall of Fame Recording Secretary no later than sixty (60) days prior to the annual Florida State conven on. No submissions received a er the cutoff date will be considered in the current year. Sec on 5. All submissions shall become the property of the Florida State Aerie Hall of Fame Commi ee. ARTICLE V - SELECTION AND ENSHRINEMENT Sec on 1. From the local Aerie submissions, the selec on commi ee, by majority vote, will select no more than three (3) living members and two (2) deceased members for induc on into the Florida State Hall of Fame in any one year. The Hall of Fame Commi ee may nominate addi onal candidates if deemed in the best interest of the Commi ee. Sec on 2. Submissions that are not accepted for enshrinement during the current year will be retained by the selec on commi ee for a period of one (1) addi onal year provided their eligibility is retained.

Sec on 3. At the annual Florida State Conven on, the Hall of Fame Chairman shall announce the approved selec ons that are to be enshrined in the Florida State Hall of Fame. Sec on 4.

The Florida State Execu ve Board shall provide a master plaque on which all enshrined names will be inscribed. The plaque shall be permanently located in the Memorial Library Building at the Eagle Village facility in Bradenton, Florida. Sec on 5. Each living member shall be presented with a suitable personal plaque and name tag at the Mid-Winter Conference. ARTICLE VI AMENDMENTS Sec on 1. The Florida State Hall of Fame selec on commi ee reserves the right to revoke, alter or amend these by-laws upon vote of two thirds of the members present at any legally called mee ng. These By-Laws were voted into acceptance on June 16, 2017 and remain in effect un l otherwise amended or repealed by the Florida State Hall of Fame Commi ee.
