The State Convention will start on Thursday June 15, Meeting will start at 9 am, Friday June 16 meeting will start at 10 am and Saturday June 17 meeting will Start at 10 am. State Convention Registration forms must be received by e State Secretary by May NO Delegate Registration will be accepted at e Convention. Banquet Order Forms must be received by May All Grand Aerie Charity Money must be sent to e Grand Aerie by May or it may not get credited to your Aerie or Auxiliary by e time of e State Convention in June. The District at will be hosting e Hospitality Room Please let me know how many Worker Passes you need for e Day you are doing e Hospitality Room. There will be a $40.00 charge per Person for a Day Pass for e Hospitality Room for e State Convention for ose Members not on e Preregistered List. 3 From The State Madam President Dear Sisters and Broers, Hudson #3997 did anoer amazing job on e State Picnic. The attendance was down from last year. The State Picnic is for you, e members. It is our way (State officers) of giving back to e membership as we serve and bartend e event. Please consider attending next year. It is always e last full weekend of March. Words can't express my gratitude to Auxiliary #3496 for e very special anniversary. From e fantastic decorations to e fabulous food, it was truly a surreal experience at I will never forget. More appreciation goes out to e Orlando Aerie and Auxiliary #3496 for putting on a successful elimination dinner. They did a superb job and we had so much fun raising money. Next we traveled to Clearwater #3452 for Forever Summer. The dinner and decorations were very tropical. It was great seeing old and new friends wearing eir boldest shirts. Then we helped Palm Bay #4249 celebrate eir 27 anniversary. We were treated to a traditional Easter dinner and even had an Egg Hunt wi e Easter Bunny. Earlier in e mon I received a call from G.M.P. Judy Johnson regarding a complaint letter she received about a Florida Auxiliary. Sisters, if you are having problems wi your Auxiliary, please follow e chain of command and contact your S.M.P. The State Auxiliary is here to help you and we can't afford to lose any more Auxiliaries. We have lost four Auxiliaries is year. Only one of ose called me before contacting e Grand Aerie to surrender eir charter. We are here to help you. Please contact us first. 7 EAGLES LANDING AERIE #4385 Congratulations goes out to Charlie Sperrazza SER chairman for e Golden Age Eagle Fund. On April 23, 2017 a golf Tournament was held and is was to benefit e Barbara s Dream Fund at e McKnight Brain Institute, at e University of Florida. This year s tournament was e most successful since its inception, over 15 years ago, reporting a total of $25,000 at was donated. Through e Grand Aerie s Golden Age Eagles Fund, e proceeds will benefit Research and Education for Alzheimer s, Parkinson s Frontotemporal Dementia, Muscular Dystrophy, and ALS. PAST PRESIDENTS LUNCHEON AT STATE CONVENTION For e Auxiliary Ladies at are going to e Past Presidents Luncheon on Friday please DO NOT forget to bring your items for auction. See Rayetta Patton and give em to her. FLAG CEREMONY AT STATE CONVENTION All of e following information is in your Convention packet from Barbara Barber. Complete e form in e packet and return to Barbara Barber and Alvena Matis. At e 2017 State Convention in Tampa, we will again have an Opening Flag Ceremony to recognize e Auxiliaries in our state. Each Auxiliary will have a representative carry eir flag into e meeting room. It is recommended at e representative be e out-going Madam President from e year. If she is not attending, anoer sister could be e flag carrier. You may include someing on e flag at signifies your area of e state, your Auxiliary's name, or it can just be your name and Auxiliary number. Please be creative! If you had a flag in a previous year's ceremony, you may use e same one. The flag should be rectangle and as close to 11 x 14 inches as possible. (The 11 inches would be e vertical sides and 14 inches, e horizontal sides.) Please include a dowel to extend approximately 18 inches beyond e bottom of e flag. The dowel should be no more an 7/16 inches in diameter in order to fit in e flag holders. On Thursday, prior to e Opening Ceremony at State Convention, e representatives should gaer in e hallway outside of e meeting room to line up for e flag presentation. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ FLORIDA HALL OF FAME FOR AERIE AND AUXILIARIES It is time to start inking about nominations for e Florida State Hall of fame. The following are e requirements for nominations: (1) Any member in a local Aerie/Auxiliary, including dual members, in e State of Florida who shall have accumulated fifteen (15) years of membership in e FOE, and in good standing at e time of nomination. (2) Any deceased member who was in good standing and on e rolls of eir local Aerie or Auxiliary in e State of Florida, and had not less an fifteen (15) years of service, at e time of eir demise. (3) The prospective nominee, during e course of his/her membership in e FOE, shall have demonstrated outstanding character, leadership and service togeer wi showing a positive dedication to e principals of e FOE. There must be at least 20 prepaid signed up members. The classes are $25.00 per member, e host Aerie generally serves a light lunch for $5.00. We invite all members who want to attend to attend.
