2 welcome last time we met about us History Welcome to Collingham Football Club Good afternoon and welcome to Station Road for this afternoon s game. We would like to welcome the players, management, committee and supports of Dinnington Town to Collingham FC. Another good win last week which makes it 5 wins in the last 6 games has got us in touching distance of the top half of the table. With 9 games to go a top 6 finish is now a realistic target! The Collingham FC gold day has been pencilled in for Saturday 3rd June. This is a good fundraiser for the Central Midlands team and more details will follow in the next programme. Enjoy the game. Collingham Football Club was established in 1887 and currently has 24 teams and approximately 400 playing and social members from age 4 upwards. In 1994, a Senior Saturday team was created which joined the Central Midlands League Premier Division. Having finished 14th in their 1st season promotion to the Supreme Division was clinched the following season by finishing 4th. The following 5 seasons were played out in the Supreme division with a best placed finish of 5th in the 2000/01 season which also included an appearance in the league cup final in which a goal in stoppage time gave Shirebrook Town the trophy in a 1-0 win. The 2001/02 season saw entry into the FA Vase for the 1st time in the clubs history. The 2nd Qualifiying round match vs Meir KA was played at Station Road on 22nd September 2001, resulting in a 2-1 win for Collingham. Boston Town were the opposition in the 1st round proper on Saturday 20th October, but the cup run come to an end after a 3-2 defeat. At the end of the 2001/02 season, the team from Collingham was disbanded and it was not until the 2015/16 season that the team returned to the Abacus Lighting Central Midlands Football League South Division and with a talented young squad many of whom had not played adult football previously they managed a very respectable 13th place winning 13 of their 34 games in the league. enquiries@collinghamfootballclub.co.uk Club Officials Chairman - Adam Stephenson Vice Chair - Mark Housley Treasurer - Ian Holmes Club Secretary - Diane Smith Director of Football - Mick Goodwin 1st X1 Manager - Paul Hyde 1st X1 Coach - Dean Hyde 1st X1 Coach - Steve Buckthorp 1st X1 Coach - Martyn Jackson U21 - Steve Newton/Simon Biggs Head Groundsman - Gerry Williams 1st X1 Secretary - Tom McGill Youth Secretary - Sarah Holmes Welfare Officer - Karen Bentley Programme - Jon Townsend top goalscorers Collingham FC Top Goalscorers 2016/17 Marlon Grundy 15 Luke Clifford 9 Dominic Agnew 4 Tom Moore 3 Jackson Buckthorp 3 Kieran Helsdown 3 Jake Newton 3 Jordan Curtis 2 Sid Costa 2 Tom McGill 2 Craig Bridge 2 Saturday 7th January 2017 Black Dragon Division North 0-3 Collingham travelled to Dinnington Town for their opening game of 2017 and a confident performance resulted in a 3-0 win. They started the game really well and showed no signs of rustiness after a 4 week Christmas break. It took until 27 minutes before the deadlock was broken when a corner was flicked on by Matt Ward and Jackson Buckthorp was loitering at the back post to slot the ball home. The lead was quickly doubled when 2 minutes later Luke Clifford slid a wonderful ball through which split the defence and allowed Marlon Grundy run onto the ball and finish low under the keeper to double the advantage. The home side started the second half in much more determined mood but the Collingham defence were repelling anything that they could throw at them and it was the visitors that completed the scoring in the 75th minute when Drew Allwoods cross found an unmarked Grundy who drove the ball across the keeper and into the net to seal the 3 points. Both teams were flat in a pretty uneventful 1st half with the 1st shot on target not coming until the 35th minute of the game when a Craig Bridge free kick was superbly turned round the post by the visiting keeper. There was more intensity from both teams after the interval and Collingham opened the scoring on 53 minutes when debutant Chris Funnell fired home from 12 yards out. The lead was short lived as a goalmouth eventually ended up with Simon Biggs putting through his own goal to gift the visitors a leveller. The home side scored what turned out to be the winning goal on 77 minutes when a sweeping counter attack ended up at Craig Bridge who produced a cool finish and secure a third successive victory for a Collingham side who are now looking up the table with the aim of finishing the season in good style. 4 the gaffer Good afternoon, I would like to welcome all the officials, players and supporters from Dinnington Town. Firstly I must say well done to everyone that has been involved in the work that has gone on within the changing rooms. I know a lot of people have put a lot of their own time into completing them and I speak for everyone when I say that they now look fantastic and we are very grateful for all the hard work put in over the past few months. It wasn t the best game last week against Appleby Frodingham but it was another 3 points against what I thought were a decent footballing side who like us had a lot of young players in their line up. Black Dragon Badges South Division There were just two matches played in the Black Dragon Badges South division. An 82 nd minute goal from Hucknall Town s Adam Nelson was all that separated his team and Swanwick Pentrich Road. The other game was rather more clear-cut, a youthful Matlock Town Reserves inflicting a 7-1 defeat on Linby Colliery. Tom Savage and Jordan Lee put the home side two up in the first twelve minutes, but Matlock really got into their stride in the second halfwith a four goal burst in fifteen minutes, Lee and Savage each getting a second with Matt Wilkinson and Max Hunt also joining in. Cameron Jones pulled one back for Linby but Billy Whitehead had the last word with a goal three minutes from the end. With 9 games left to play we are now just 6 points behind last season s final point tally of 42 points which is a fantastic effort in a tough physical league. I can t really praise every one of the lads that have featured over the last 2 seasons highly enough and am thankful for their efforts. I would like to welcome Chris Funnell to the club and he started well last week grabbing a goal on his first appearance. We also welcome back Tom Moore today after his injury which is a big boost make us stronger as we look to finish the end of the season well. Enjoy the game. 5 weekend round up Report by Richard Lane Abacus Lighting Central Midlands League Roundup for March 18th 2017 Black Dragon Badges North Division Most relieved team in the league after this afternoon s matches has to be Welbeck Lions who picked up their first win of the season at the twenty-fourth attempt, finally ending a winless run which stretched back to December A frantic last few minutes saw them score three times between the 83rd and 88th minutes through Dan Robinson, Taylor Askham and James Whitfield before Davy Wyres got one back for visitors Bilsthorpe in added time. At the other end of the Black Dragon Badges North table FC Bolsover shot back to the top with a bang, putting Thorne Colliery to the sword as they scored ten goals without reply. The division s leading scorer Josh Parfitt led the way with four, Ryan Cancellara added two, with the others shared between Josh Scully, Adam Kimberley, Josh Aitken and Jordan Jones. Bolsover now lead Clay Cross by a single point, both teams having played 24 games. AFC Bentley won again, their 14th consecutive match without defeat coming thanks to a 2-0 defeat of Phoenix, a result which brings their recent good run to an end. Zac King and Brad Maddison were both on target as Bentley march on. Tideswell United are up to joint fourth position following a two goal win at Askern. Both goals came from Alex Pugh, the first coming as early as the 3rd minute, the second a penalty on the hour. Harworth Colliery were also 2-0 winners against Newark Town in a match notable for two outstanding goalkeeping displays, Harworth s Matthew Leese and Newark s Nathan Burrows both excelling. The home side s goals came from Lee Edmondson after 8 minutes and Marley Alder four minutes from time. Collingham were 2-1 winners at home to Appleby Frodingham. All three goals came in the second half, Chris Funnell and Craig Bridge scoring for the hosts, with Frod benefitting from an own goal. Dronfield Town Reserves visited Dinnington Town and returned with all three points after another 2-1 win. Scorers for Dronfield were Martin Danceusky and Adam Dobson, Reece Land replying for Dinnington.

DINNINGTON COLLIERY ( ) entered in the wartime Wharncliffe Charity League. This league was established due to the shortage of teams allowed entries from minor leagues up to the standard of the Football League. During this wartime period the club won the Hatchard Cup and Aston Charity Cup on two or three occasions. DINNINGTON MAIN COLLIERY ( ) rejoined the Hatchard League in 1919 and in 1921 made their first entry into the FA Cup where they lost 4-3 to Silverwood Colliery after extra time. In 1921 the club were promoted to the Sheffield Association League. DINNINGTON ATHLETIC ( ) continued playing in the Sheffield Association League when the team was formed in 1928 which saw the start of a golden era for the club. In 1932 the club won the prestigious Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup beating South Kirkby Colliery 3-0 in the final replay at Mexborough. This success enabled qualification for the FA Cup again the following season when Athletic beat Bentley Colliery and Silverwood Colliery by the same 3-1 margin before losing to Rawmarsh Welfare in the next round. However it was the season which saw the club finally reach the first round proper of the FA Cup for the first time, having valiantly tried for many years. Local football history was made when in the final qualifying round replay, a crowd of 2,800 saw Athletic beat South Bank 1-0. The club was rewarded entry into the Yorkshire League in and stayed there for many years, their high point coming when winning the Second Division title in A season which also saw the club again reach the final of the Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup, only to lose 2-1 to Worksop Town at Kiveton's Hard Lane ground. DINNINGTON COLLIERY ( ) joined and played in the Midland League. As the mining industry declined so did the club's fortunes and in 1985 the club folded. DINNINGTON TOWN ( ) for the first time in its history the club would be known as Dinnington Town, beginning footballing life again in the Central Midlands League. The ground facilities prevented promotion for a few seasons but didn t stop winning ways, including 2 League Cups in 2002/3 & 2005/6. the latter season also seeing the club gain promotion to the Northern Counties East League. In with the NECL Division 1 League Title came promotion to the NECL Premier Division, its highest ever status in league football and also a run in the FA Cup proper to the 3 rd qualifying round. Another League Cup win in was the last honour as Dinnington Town and following relegation to NECL Div 1 and financial implications becoming too great the club withdrew from the NECL at the end on DINNINGTON TOWN 2014 ( ) reformed with a new management team born from the substantial junior section of the club Dinnington Town has re entered the Central Midlands Football League
