The opening half was fairly even, with both sides playing neat football, but Stur created the better of the chances hitting the post twice and crossbar once. Sturminster took the lead midway through the first half with a crisp passing move down the right hand side from Elliott Eavis, who sent in a cross for Harry Mcgrath at the far post for the opening goal. They soon doubled their lead with a deflected shot from Jamie Danoris wrong footing the Lyme goalkeeper. Lyme hit straight back with a well worked goal and started to put the pressure on, but just before half time Darren Spiller headed home to keep the two goal advantage. 3 1 to Stur at half time. Lyme started the better of the two sides and closed the goal-deficit early into the second half, but as the half wore on Sturminster were able to press back Lyme Regis and scored their fourth goal through another header, this time from Neil Sweatman from a corner, and soon afterward a looping shot from thirty yards out from Eavis beat the Lyme keeper to score Stur s fifth goal of the day. Stur pressed for more goals as Lyme tired, but the Lyme keeper stepped up and made good saves in the closing of the game. A good match and advert for the DPL and Dorset Football. 2 DORSET PREMIER LEAGUE HOLT UNITED 1 2 SWANAGE TOWN It was a fiercely contested match that resulted in Holt s second home defeat of the season as they were host to Swanage Town in the league. Holt took the lead after five minutes when Charlie Gadjic headed home from a well-placed corner which beat the keeper to open the game up for the home side. Swanage fought back and only ten minutes later, after some confusion in the Holt defence, The Swanage captain Nat Scott latched onto a loose ball and lobbed Lynch in goal to equal the scoring. Holt had one more chance before half time but the Swanage keeper was equal to Luke Homer s. 1 1 at half time. Holt started the second half with intent, and after ten minutes Homer s free kick found Mike Haskell s head, but keeper Jack Watson made another fine save. The game looked set on ending at a draw until the deadlock was broken in injury time and Swanage s Cam Beard capitalised on another defensive lapse to put Swanage ahead and win the game. Unfortunately, the celebrations were cut short when the scorer was sent off only a minute later. A very entertaining game nonetheless. Dan Hislock played in a good ball to Ben Bosley, who buried it in the back of the net from the edge of the box and put Parley ahead. Parley made great chances to extend their lead, wastefulness from Dan Hiscock and Mike La Ronde led to nothing. As the first half was nearing its end, Bridport hit the Parley cross bar with a deflected effort to keep the game alive. Following their chance, the game was made level by a poor clearance falling to Bridport s Josh Hunter, who finished well with the last kick of the first half. 1 1 at half time. The second half started slowly, until La Ronde picked up a loose ball twenty-five yards from goal and curled a sensational shot into the far corner in the 54th minute. Matt Newbery extended Parley's lead only three minutes later with a counter-attack leading to a La Ronde cross for Matt Newbery to tap home. In the sixty-second minute Ben Bosley won a foul in the area and Matt Newbery stepped up to slot home the penalty for Parley Sport. Bridport responded immediately and broke down their left, Tom Blair making an impressive run and putting a shot towards the far post, which Mike La Ronde could only head into his own net in 65th minute. Bridport had the better of the final 10 minutes as they threw men forward in a desperate attempt to get back into the game, but the Parley defence held firm, backed up by a couple of fine saves from Sam Jones. In the first minute of stoppage time, Parley Sport broke away and Adam Trimby crossed a ball to the far post, where James Shering volleyed home to give Parley their fifth goal, and wrap up the game. 3 DORSET SENIOR TROPHY BLANDFORD UTD 4 3 HAMWORTHY UTD RES. Blandford came from behind three times to beat Hamworthy United and progress to the next round of the Dorset Senior Trophy in a sensational cup tie. Hamworthy were ahead inside 20 minutes as they moved the ball fast from their own half and King was able to cross the ball for Randall who s headed effort looped over the top of Blandford keeper Ben Robbins. Hamworthy looked especially dangerous on the counter attack and moved the ball fast in dangerous areas. The home side had their chances to get themselves back in the game, with Paul Ford forcing Hamworthy keeper James Isaac to make a good save on his effort at goal. Blandford were then awarded a corner at the end of the first half, and a good delivery from winger Callum Wray allowed forward Dan Vater to draw the score before half time. The teams looked to be heading into the break level, but Ollie King found himself on the edge of the box, took two touches and rifled an unstoppable shot into the top corner. 2 1 to Hamwothy at half time. Blandford immediately fought back and equalised early when Alex Robbins controlled a lofted pass perfectly and float the ball over the onrushing Hamworthy keeper. Blandford then fell behind again when Randall bagged his second of the match, after effortlessly slotting the ball under Royals keeper Ben Robbins. Hamworthy should have put the game to bed only four minutes later when they were awarded a penalty after Robbins brought down Russell Liston inside the box, but King failed to convert the spot kick and add to his goal tally, leaving Blandford s way back into the game open. First Blandford captain Rob Manson scored a header at the back post after a brilliantly weighted ball from midfielder Joe Wells to draw level at three-apiece, before Forward Paul Ford made a chance out of nothing and rounded the keeper to slot home the winning goal late in the game. Hamworthy couldn t do anything to pull back the lead as the lost to the home side in a seven-goal-frenzy. WAREHAM RANGERS 7 0 WITCHAMPTON Wareham started the game positively against Witchampton, keeping possession and having plenty of chances inside the opening 10 minutes of play. The breakthrough came after a shot from Danny Gale was parried and Rich Parsons scored with a follow up finish after twelve minutes. Wareham played every ball out from the back and were comfortably in control for the next fifteen minutes, but could not convert any of the chances that were being created. Wareham had a slow end to the half and Witchampton applied pressure to the home team, hoping to force a mistake from them. 1 0 at half time to Rangers. But Wareham came out in a more positive manner in the second half, scoring two goals In quick succession through well-struck shots from Suwie Thompson and Lee Phibbs. Wareham controlled the whole of the second half and played attractive football with a further four goals coming from Rich Parsons, earning himself an impressive brace, a further two from Chris Woods and a goal on the stroke of full time from Kevin Gill who had only come on off the bench 5 minutes earlier. Full time 7 0 to Wareham Rangers. SHERBORNE TOWN RES. 4 1 BOSCOMBE POLONIA After having the better of the early exchanges, Sherborne took the lead at thirty-seven minutes when Rowe was on hand to slide home a low right wing ball across the box. The lead was doubled only three minutes later when Lukosrus scored from close range to add to Boscombe s issues. 2 0 at half time to Sherborne. Boscombe were back in the game early in the second half when the Sherborne keeper misjudged a high ball and dropped it at the feet of a Boscombe forward, who closed the gap between the two teams. The keeper redeemed himself only minutes later with a fine double save to keep Boscombe out of the game. Sherborne gave themselves breathing space after the hour mark when Rowe scored his second, this time from a free kick. Another set-piece kick led to a forth and final goal when Turner was on hand to score from close range. Sherborne saw out the remaining minutes comfortably to progress to the next round of the Dorset Senior Trophy comfortably.

4 DORSET SENIOR TROPHY HAMWORTHY REC. 2 2 BALTI SPORTS AET HAMWORTHY REC. 4 2 BALTI SPORTS (PENALTIES) Hamworthy Rec. edged into round two of the Senior Trophy in a thrilling game with Balti Sports that went all the way into penalties. Both sides played good football from the start, but they couldn t break each-other down and create chances. Rec came closest when Liam Teixceira headed against the bar from a corner, before Balti caused problems themselves with a good ball into the box, cleared at the expense of a corner. Balti went in front after a goal-less half time due to poor marking from Rec allowing the Balti man to get his team ahead. Rec managed to spurn a succession of chances, with Callum Charlton's shot saved by the keepers legs and Mark Smith's free-kick sailing past the far post. Just as it seemed Balti would hold out for the win, Hamworthy struck in the 90th minute. Max Wilcock's cross found the head of Sam Rea, who made no mistake from close range to make it 1 1 and take the game into extra time. The first period of extra-time was goalless, before Rec. took the lead themselves at the start of the second period when great work by Charlton set up Marc Fairbrother for their second goal, but within minutes Balti were level with a close-range header after keeper Luke Dawe had made a great save from the initial shot, forcing the game into a penalty shoot-out. Osborne, Fairbrother, Smith and Logan converted for Hamworthy Rec, whilst Luke Dawe made a great save from Balti s fourth attempt to clinch the game for Hamworthy. DORSET SENIOR TROPHY ROUND-UP Gillingham Town Res. Made it safely through to the next round fixtures after goals from Cullen, Robertson, Blackmore and O Shea saw them defeat Alderholt in a 4 1 victory.
