Please contact the office at , as soon as possible. TALENT SHOW 2007 FRIDAY JUNE 15TH 11:30-12:45 PARENTS WELCOME! Sign up with Mrs. Durgin ASAP. If you plan to be in the show, you must plan to attend AT LEAST TWO(2) after school rehearsal sessions. These will take place Tuesday June 5th from 2-3, Thursday June 7th from 2-3, Monday June 11th from 2-3 and Tuesday June 12th from 2-3, in the AD Gray gymnasium. We will determine the order of presentation. You must come with all you need in order to perform. Students performing will be called to the auditorium on Friday June 15th before audience members are called. It is up to YOU to be ready for this show! FMI see Mrs. Durgin.

Many thanks to the parent chaperones who took part in our overnight Adventure program to Bog Brook. We all had a great time. The weather was perfect and the kids were terrific! Thanks again for giving us this powerful field trip opportunity! 7th Grade Staff Historical Hysterical Fashion Show Saturday, May 19, at 6:30pm Friendship Village School Bring the Family and enjoy the Fun! Vintage clothes then clothes with a "twist." Come and see who and what we have! Warren Plant Sale Save the date- On May 26th beginning at 8 am the Warren Field and Garden Club will hold it s annual fundraising plant sale at the Red Farm (formerly the Sheepskin Shop) on Route 90 ( 1584 Camden Road) in Warren. Proceeds from this sale support community gardens including the Warren Post Office garden, perennial beds at the Warren Historical Society building, as well as at Payson Park. The club also plans to landscape the 3 new Warren town signs this year. The club also contributes garden plant books to the Warren Public Library. Plant material for sale includes locally grown perennials, bushes, and trees along with houseplants. A master gardener will be on site to assist anyone with concerns related to the plant world. For more info or questions about the sale please call Diana at or Helene at WALDOBORO TO HOST PEPSI/MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL PITCH,HIT & RUN COMPETITION Waldoboro, Maine The Waldoboro Recreation Department, Waldoboro Little League and the Medomak Valley Community Foundation will host the annual PEPSI MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL Pitch Hit & Run Competition on Saturday, May 19, 2007 at Medomak Valley High School s baseball and softball fields. Registration will begin at 1:00 p.m. The competition will start around 1:30 p.m. The rain date is Sunday, May 20th. This event is free and is open to all boys and girls in the Midcoast region ages 14 & under. Participant s birth date must be before July 18, 1992, or after. The Pitch, Hit & Run Competition is the Official Skills Competition of Major League Baseball. The program provides youngsters with an opportunity to participate; free of charge, in a competition that encourages and recognizes individual excellence in core baseball skills. The competition includes pitching at a target, hitting baseballs from a fixed tee for distance and accuracy, and running from 2nd base to home plate for a timed score. There are four age divisions: 8 & under, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14. Boys and girls compete together. Age group winners have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including the Team Championships at Fenway Park and the National Finals at the 2007 MLB All-Star Game in San Francisco. In the local competition, the First Place winners in each age group for Pitching, Hitting, and Running, along with the All- Around Champion in each age group will advance to the sectional competition on June 2nd in Bangor. All participants must bring a birth certificate or baptismal record to verify age and complete a registration/waiver form prior to the start of the competition. 3 ANNOUNCING!!! The MSAD #40 Summer Reading Challenge!! Can the students, families, and community members of MSAD #40 - Friendship, Union, Waldoboro, Warren, and Washington - read for 1,000,000 minutes in the summer of 2007? Let s all work together to tally our reading minutes and find out! Everyone who lives or works in the five towns of MSAD #40 - Friendship, Union, Waldoboro, Warren, and Washington - is invited to participate. It s easy and fun. In the next few weeks watch for announcements and the form for keeping track of your reading minutes. Then all you need to do is READ! Drop off your tally at your local public library any time during the summer or when you return to school in the fall. Can the students, families, and community members of MSAD #40 - Friendship, Union, Waldoboro, Warren, and Washington - read for 1,000,000 minutes in the summer of 2007? What does reading for 1,000,000 minutes mean? How long would it take one person to do that?? Would it take longer than one summer? Do some math and figure out how many minutes there are in a day, a week, a month, and a year. Then you can figure out how many days, weeks, months, or even years it would take one person to read for a million minutes. When you have the answer, send it in a note to the ADG Office. Your name will go into a summer reading challenge prize drawing, and the answer will be printed here next week.
