Congratulations to the Renegade Regiment for our 1st place finish at the Broken Arrow Invitational yesterday!! What a great reward for all of the students hard work. And what a great compliment to our program to truly be in competition with such a musical power house as Owasso. It s also great to be going head to head with such a great class of students, parents, and staff. I can t tell you how many congratulations and compliments the Owasso staff continued to give us after the finale Saturday night. If you re going to STL, make sure to not only make a lot of noise for Renegade Regiment but also for all our neighboring Oklahoma bands. If you re not going, feel free to watch the Renegade Regiment perform live on a large projection screen at Palen Music in Broken Arrow. Renegade Regiment performs in prelims at 6:45 pm on Friday. Notarized Medical Release Forms Your student s Medical Release Form must be notarized before the St. Louis trip. Although we planned to have a notary available at last Thursday s rehearsal, the weather worked against us. Therefore, the public notary will be available at this Wednesday s rehearsal beginning at 7:30 pm (Oct. 14). If it is more convenient for you, parents may download another blank Medical Release Form from the band s website. Go to and under the Parents link select resources/downloads. Print off the Medical Treatment Authorization Form. Complete the form, and take it to your bank or another notary to be notarized OR bring it to rehearsal on Wednesday at 7:30 to be notarized. 3 St. Louis Itinerary October 16-18, 2009 The itinerary below highlights the main elements of our trip to St. Louis. The directors will discuss a detailed itinerary with the students later in the week. A Suggested Packing List will be distributed on Wednesday. 4 St. Louis Trip - October 16-18, 2009 Friday, October 16 (Arrival at Embassy Suites-St. Charles - Preliminary Performance at Edward Jones Dome) The Embassy Suites-St. Charles was built in 2005 and has been awarded the #1 Embassy Suites World-Wide for 2 years!! The students will receive a cooked-to order breakfast in the garden atrium on Saturday morning. The rooms consist of a 2- room suite with a living room and separate bedroom. The hotel also offers an on-site restaurant, snack bar, day spa, fitness center, and indoor pool. The Edward Jones Dome is located in downtown St. Louis near the Gateway Arch and is home to the St. Louis Rams. Embassy Suites - St. Charles Saturday, October 17 (Depart Embassy Suites, Rehearsal at Lindenwood University, arrival at the Hilton at the Ballpark - Anticipated Finals Performance at the Dome) Rehearsal will take place at Lindenwood University late Saturday morning. The college is approximately 2 miles from the Embassy Suites. This 500 acre campus was established in Rehearsal will take place in Hunter Stadium, a 15,000 seat facility. We will spend the remainder of Saturday at both the Dome and The Hilton at the Ballpark in downtown St. Louis where the students will be resting and eating a hot buffet dinner. The Hilton is located adjacent to Busch Stadium and Kiener Plaza. We will depart for Tulsa immediately following the awards ceremony at the Dome. A detailed trip itinerary will be released soon. 5 Watch Renegade Regiment Perform LIVE in St. Louis Watch the BOA Super Regional LIVE via satellite at Palen Music Center!! Palen Music Center will be projecting the BOA Super Regional in St. Louis live via satellite on our new (bigger) big screen! Come cheer on your band students with us on Friday-Saturday, October 16 th and 17th. There is no cost; just bring a folding or lawn chair. There will be limited seating available. We will have some snacks and soda, but feel free to also bring something for yourself or to share. Doors will open at 8:00 am. Call the store at for more information. You can also check out for more contest information. We are located on the southeast corner of 61 st and Elm in Broken Arrow near the Bass Pro Shops. Renegade Review Update / OBA 4A-5A Sign Up The 27 th Annual Renegade Review was a success thanks to all those who volunteered their time, energy, and skills. It s now time to continue with the planning required for OBA 4A/5A State contest on October 24. Nineteen bands are scheduled to compete. I m working on the adult schedule. If you have signed up and are not able to help, please let me know ASAP at renengadereview@unionbands.com Again, thanks to all those adults and students who worked during Renegade Review. Steve Helt Merchandise Merchandise Pick Up Anyone that has ordered show shirts or other Renegade Regiment merchandise can pick them up at Wednesday night s rehearsal. We will be set up along the sidewalk near the band entrance if the weather allows. If it is raining or really cold we will be inside the atrium. Band Jackets The first order of band jackets were scheduled to be shipped Oct. 9. They should be here soon. Julianna will notify you when your jacket arrives. 6 Fundraising Opportunities Blue and Gold - We will be placing another order. The orders and money will be due on Oct. 29. There is a downloadable order form available on the website. Click on fundraising info. on the home page. Then click on high school fundraisers. Pansy orders and money are due on Oct. 14 at practice. If the weather is permitting, we will be set up at the north end of the stadium. There is an order form available on the website. Delivery will be around Oct. 28. Entertainment Books are on sale for $30. The first two students to sell 7 will receive a $25 gift card from AMC Theatres. If you have checked out books, please turn in the money and any unsold books at practice on Oct. 14. ALL CANDY MONEY IS DUE NOW! Qboba Spirit Night is Oct. 13. Please place your receipt in the bowl provided by the cash register. Please invite your friends and family to eat at Qdoba and support the Renegade Regiment. Bedlam T-shirts - Orders for Bedlam t-shirts are currently being taken. Youth to adult XL are $15. Adult 2XL and 3XL are $16. Adult 4XL are $18. The order will be turned in on Oct. 26.
