General 1.1.Intrductin This dcument gives a technical and functinal descriptin f Depr`s 175 knm trque tl and calibratin unit. 1.2.Purpse and intended task The trque tl can be used subsea/tpside where high tque is required. Output interfaces are fully custmizable accrding t client requirements. 6 2. Functinal descriptin 2.1.Purpse f the Equipment The Purpse f the TT is t prvide trque fr equipment with dcking interface. The TT, cnsists f the fllwing: 1) The TT which is primary planned t be perated by a standard Wrk Class Remtely Operated Vehicle (WROV), but may als be perated n land fr test purpses and can be used in the fllwing cnfiguratins: a) Pwered and cntrlled, via TT CL 6+ n pre-installed TT 175kNm dcking interface. TT CL 6+ t be driven by htstab WROV interface. b) Pwered and cntrlled, via a TT CL 6+ driven by a Pwer Unit (HPU) n land. 2) By dcking the TT nt the CU, which is used t verify and calibrate the trque prduced by the TT. 2.2.Trque Tl When the TT is inserted in a dcking interface, the reactin nse ensures that n peratin trque is transferred t the ROV system. The TT maintains its psitin in the receptacle either by gravity and \ r lcking mechanism n dcking interface. The TT transmits trque frm a TT CL 6+ Running trque and reactin frces are transferred t the dcking receptacle via the reactin nse n the tl. The TT utput trque is adjusted by adjusting the pressure input. TT 175kNm and TT CL 6+ t be calibrated and used in cnjunctin. The number f turns dne by the tl scket is displayed n a turns cunter integrated n tp f the tl. 2.3.Trque Tl Turns Cunter The TT Turns Cunter cnsists f an electrnics canister and a magnet wheel. The canister cntains the cunter electrnics, display and sensrs as well as batteries and is equipped with a Burtn bulkhead cnnectr, prviding battery charging input. Unit is filled with glycl t cmpensate fr external pressure. This will prevent water frm entering the turn cunter and generate failure. The Turns Cunter is pwered by a battery. It is equipped with a pwer saving feature prviding temprary shutdwn if n rtatin is detected within 3 minutes. Turn Cunter is turned n autmatic when the TT is perated. 7 2.4.Trque Tl Calibratin unit The TTCU is designed t verify that the TT prvides the crrect trque utput. During calibratin a Calibratin Sheet is prepared giving Trque utput as a functin f Pressure input. The TTCU cmprises an interface cnnected t a Read-ut Display. The trque frm the TT is transferred via the stem in the receptacle t a trque transducer at the base f the stem. The signal frm the transducer is then sent t the Read-ut Display where the actual trque value is shwn. DEP-DO Technical and Functinal Descriptin Page 7 f 9

8 3. Technical data The TT 175 knm fr dcking interface is supplied as a cmplete tl. Main parts: Gear Husing and reactin nse with bearings Scket t fit the client requirements Seal plate and seals Turn cunter Guide plate Lifting arrangement Tw ROV bucket interfaces. One fr running trque and ne fr final trque. The TT has a reactin nse fr lad transfer t the dcking interface segment. Inside the nse there is a scket that fits the hexagnal blt head in dcking interface. TT is equipped with a battery pwered turns cunter giving the actual number f stem turns. Empty battery is recharged by a turn cunter charger. Ignre turns n TT CL 6+ and use turn cunter munted directly n TT 175 knm.
