The Cardinals were down 2 starters and we started out a little out of sync but it didn't take long to get rolling as the defense set the tone once again proving to be a thorn in the Spartans side all night and we were off to the races. Team defense, unselfish passing and depth were big factors in the win. Scoring was paced by Kayla Feldhake with 16, Kendall Kohler 13, and Kiki Miller 10. Kara Thomson 8, Courtney Gould 5, Kelby Olson- Rodel and Maggie Slagle 3, and 2 each for Kaye Paschka, Elise Stockmoe and Ella Grove. Rebounds were led by Kiki Miller with 6 and Kayla Feldhake tearing down 5. Assists were led by Kendall Kohler and Kiki Miller dishing out 4 each. Ken Kohler jumped on 5 steals also. The Cardinals now stand at 13-2 overall and 9-0 in the CLC. We begin a 3 game home stand this week on Tuesday vs Little Falls, Thursday hosting Apollo, and Bemidji on Saturday for a boy/girl double header and also our Youth night and Lace em up to fight cancer day. Go Cards! TOP 20 TIP OF THE DAY Top 20 Thinkers and Teams understand that they will take hits as a team thru out the Journey, but have the leadership and strength to bounce back with our strong core values that align with the TEAM goals. Bottom 80 Thinkers and Teams waiver when the going gets rough, thus compromising core values which have a direct impact on the team goals. GIRLS BASKETBALL JV Alexandria 69 Rocori 27 The Alexandria Girls Basketball team traveled to Cold Spring Friday night to battle the Rocori Spartans. Alexandria sprang out to an early lead from the tip with their full court pressure causing mayhem for the Spartans. As Rocori began to figure out the Alexandria full court pressure they were able to close in on the Cardinals lead. The Cards made some adjustments on their half court and full court pressure defense and again were causing troubles for the Spartans. The Cardinals didn t look back from there. Every lineup the Cards had in was too much for Rocori and Alexandria s depth proved to be too much for the Spartans. In the end all 15 Cardinal players: Kennedy Quinn, Nikki Botzet, Taylor Partington, Flora Kvale, Addison Rodel, Matie Wirtjes, Alison Amundson, Courtney Gould, Emily Aker, Callie Craig, Mac Duwehoegger, Franny Palmer, Kaye Paschka, Ella Grove, and Emily Jones were able to score at least one basket against Rocori. It was a fun night
3 on the road for the Cardinals as they were able to coast to a victory. The win pushes the JV s record to 13-2 on the year. The Cards next game is Tuesday night as they host the Little Falls Flyers. GIRLS BASKETBALL 9 TH GRADE Alexandria - 39 Rocori - 33 On Friday, the Alexandria girls basketball team road their chariot to Rocori to take on the Spartans. At the beginning of the game, the Alex girls jumped out to an early lead and it appears like it was going to be a good game in Alex s favor. However, the Spartans were well equipped with shields and armor, and wouldn t lay down quietly. It was a solid and physical game the rest of the way. The Cardinals played tough defense, forcing an awesome amount of turnovers, which kept Rocori from scoring on many possessions. On top of that, our girls were uncharacteristically cold and had a hard time getting things to drop around the basket. Even with that happening, the girls put their hearts into the game and played as hard as they have all season to pull off the win. It brings the girls to 16-0 on the season. The next time they play is on Tuesday, at home, against Little Falls. BOYS HOCKEY VARSITY Alexandria 7 Willmar 0 BOYS HOCKEY JV Alexandria 5 Willmar 0 The JV Cards closed their busy 4 game week against a team that they opened with on Monday. Willmar came to Alexandria with the mindset that they would put up more of a fight as the JV Cards beat them Alexandria scored just a 2:15 into the game as Foster scored from Clayton and Treat. Alexandria scored yet again another just two minutes later as Loken scored from Lind. Alexandria wasn't done yet as Willmar took four penalties total in the first period and finally the JV Cards took advantage of one of them. The third goal for the Cardinals came from Wessel on the power play. The second period got pretty chippy as Willmar started running around trying to hit everyone they could but Alexandria fought through it and scored another to make the score 4-0 (scored by Zastrow from Rebrovich). Although the third period brought three penalties for Alexandria, they still managed to shut out Willmar and put one last power play goal on the board, scored again by Loken from Zastrow. The JV Cards go into the final few weeks with a record of On Tuesday they travel to St. Cloud to take on the combo team from St. Cloud (Tech/Apollo). Good luck boys! GIRLS HOCKEY VARSITY Alexandria 2 Willmar 1 The Lady Cards took home ice on Saturday night for just the 2nd time since December 15th. A night back on home ice for the 4th game week this week, sure made for a close and exciting game for the spectators. The Cards battled through injuries, low energy, and fatigue from a long week to grind out a 2-1 victory. Anna Doherty lead the way offensively, scoring both goals for the cards. Josie Minnerath, Ashten Oberg, and Taylor Breitkreutz all with an assist. Senior goalie, Madi Gay took to the pipes for her first Varsity start, and recorded her first varsity win. What a great performance and step up by Madi. Proud of the way the girls battled through fatigue and found a way to come together and finish sweeping the week! GIRLS HOCKEY JV Alexandria 11 Willmar 0 On Saturday night the Lady Cardinal JV hockey team took on Willmar for the second time this week. From the drop of the puck it was a total team effort, and an offensive outpouring at the same time. When all was said and done we had defeated Willmar by a score of The scoring was spread around nicely with every player getting onto the score sheet in some fashion. It was another game that saw us implementing what we have been working on all season; it was a game that was fun to watch because of the way we were playing. DANCE TEAM CLC CHAMPIONSHIP

A & B Days if School is Closed We apologize for any confusion there may have been regarding A & B Days at AAHS following the snow day last Friday, November 18 th, when school was closed. Due to the fact that AAHS interacts with many business partners and we have many speakers set up to come into the classrooms, the A & B Day schedule is set and remains the same regardless of snow days. For example, Monday, November 21 st was scheduled to be a B Day. AAHS was closed on Friday, November 18 th due to the snowstorm and it was an A Day. Therefore, Monday, November 21 st remained a B Day. If we have a number of snow days and they all happen to be on A Days (or all on B Days), then administration will re-evaluate and may change the AB schedule near the end of each semester to make sure students are receiving the same number of A & B Days. You will be informed if the AB schedule changes near the end of the semester. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the office at LOOKING AHEAD January 24th Time Event Location Dismiss Leave Return Basketball: Boys 10th 5:45pm Tech Tech HS 3:45pm 10:30pm Basketball: Boys 9th 5:45pm Tech South JH 3:45pm 10:30pm Basketball: Boys JV 6:00pm Tech Tech HS 3:45pm 10:30pm Basketball: Boys Varsity 7:30pm Tech Tech HS 3:45pm 10:30pm Basketball: Girls 9th 5:45pm Little Falls AAHS Basketball: Girls JV 6:00pm Little Falls AAHS Basketball: Girls Varsity 7:30pm Little Falls AAHS Gymnastics: Varsity 6:30pm Moorhead American Gold 1:45pm 2:30pm 11:00pm Hockey: Boys JV 5:30pm Tech/Apollo MAC 2:45pm 3:15pm 10:30pm Hockey: Boys Varsity 7:15pm Tech/Apollo MAC 2:45pm 3:15pm 10:30pm Hockey: Girls JV 5:30pm Ice Breakers MAC 2:30pm 3:00pm 10:30pm Hockey: Girls Varsity 7:00pm Ice Breakers MAC 4:15pm 10:30pm January 25th Time Event Location Dismiss Leave Return Math League: Varsity TBD CLC Championship SRRHS Solo Ensemble Vocal Brainerd HS One Act Play 7:30pm Public Performance AAHS - PAC January 26th Time Event Location Dismiss Leave Return Basketball: Girls 9th 5:45pm Apollo AAHS Basketball: Girls JV 6:00pm Apollo AAHS
