2 Parks and Recreation Department Registration Information & Procedures Avoid Disappointment Register Early! Classes fill up quickly! All programs are on first come first service basis Receipts: Keep qualifying receipts for income tax purposes The charge for reprints is $5.00 per receipt/max $20.00 Four Ways to Register: 1. CASH CHEQUE DEBIT/ CREDIT CARD Cheques are made payable to Town of Ingersoll. Please Note: NSF cheques have a $25.00 charge. Class Cancellations Class will be held open up to 3 working days prior to the start Date. Insufficient registration may necessitate the cancellation of a program. We reserve the right to change or cancel programs if necessary. Fee Assistance The Town of Ingersoll is committed to providing subsidy to Ingersoll residents who cannot afford to pay for programs that we directly offer. For more information please call. Refund and Withdrawal Policy: Refunds must be requested before the 3 rd class unless there are extenuating circumstances, in which case, the request must be approved by the Program Supervisor. A $20.00 administration fee will be applied to all refund requests. Customers can leave a full credit on their account, provided the request is made prior to the 3 rd class in which no administration fee will apply. Credit Policy: All credits are pro-rated and are valid for 1 (one) year from date of issue. No administration fee charged for credits. Membership Refund Policy: Refunds are only granted due to medical reasons (with a doctor s note) or relocation. Any money paid up front at time of purchase is not refundable. All refunds are subject to a $20.00 administration fee. Weight/Cardio Room Restrictions: Ages 14-16, who purchase a membership, must participate in an orientation before using the weight room. Ages 12-13, who are part of a Family membership, must participate in a Pre-Teen orientation. Transfer Requests Class transfers must occur prior to the 3 rd class and will be based on class availability. After the 3 rd class, transfers will only be allowed at a Program Coordinator s direction. Cancellation of membership is with 30 day notice. All memberships include HST. 6 Parks and Recreation Department 2018 Fall Programs Registration begins August 31 st Children s Age Policy: We specify ages with every Children s Program. We will accept registrations providing the child will attain the minimum age prior to the start of the program. Program age ranges are set to meet both the capacity of the child and the course content. Children MUST be toilet trained unless otherwise noted. Time for Tots Ages 2 3 years (*without parents) Your child will create new friendships and explore their independence. Each week includes story / sharing time, crafts, music and play time, games and more. Program will include outside play (weather permitting) or gym time. Children are to bring a peanut free snack and a drink. Location: VPCC Time: 9:00 am 11:30 am Dates: Tuesdays, September 11 December 11 Fee: $182.00/14 classes Dates: Thursdays, September 13 December 13 Fee: $182.00/14 classes Kinder Kids Ages 3-4 years (*without parents) In this recreational program, your child will gain independence, self-confidence, discover their imagination and much more. Activities include crafts, reading, listening to music, story/sharing time and lots of friendship building. The program will include outside play (weather permitting) or gym time. Supervision will be provided during bathroom breaks but children must be able to use the washroom independently. Parents are encouraged to participate one on one with the guidance of the instructor. 8 Activities for Youth Baking Bonanza Ages years Have your cake and eat it too! Baking Bonanza is for anyone that wants to learn or already loves to bake. Look forward to baking cookies, cupcakes, muffins and more! Learn kitchen safety and basic cooking skills with your friends. Location: Fusion Youth Centre Time: 4:30 pm 6:00 pm Date: Wednesdays, Sept. 19 Oct. 24 OR Nov. 7-Dec. 12 th, 2018 Fee: $37.25/course Music Time Guitar Level 1 (basic) Ages years The program teaches youth the basics including chords, strumming techniques and tablature reading. You will also learn some basic songs! Please bring your own guitar. 9 Activities for Youth & Adult Babysitter Training Grades 5+ This is course covering babysitting and child care skills, safety/injury prevention, professional conduct as a babysitter, etc. Bring a peanut free lunch and snacks. Wear comfortable clothes and bring a teddy bear or doll for diapering practice. Updated First Aid content will be covered. Location: VPCC Date: Sunday September 30 th or November 18 th Time: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Fee: $50.00/course At Home Alone + First Aid Grades 5-6 This program will help you to understand why the setting of rules and following them is important for your safety when staying home on your own. Learn the importance of responsibility and respect while being accountable for yourself at home and within your community. Also, learn how to prepare, recognize and respond to unexpected situations. Updated First Aid content will be covered. Location: VPCC Date: Sunday October 14th Time: 9:30 am - 1:30 pm Fee: $40.00/course P.A. Adventure Days Ages 4-12 years (JK Grade 6) Location: VPCC Dates: September 28, October 26 or November 16 Time: 8:30 am 5:00 pm Fee: $40.00/first child/day; $35.00/additional child/day Backpack checklist: A healthy lunch, indoor and outdoor footwear, and all the appropriate clothing for weather conditions. Please label all belongings. Please register early! Registration will be held until Wednesday prior to each date. Should required numbers not be met by this date, the program will be cancelled. * TBA A Special event will be planned for each day No swimming Karate This course focuses on the basic physical benefits of Karate-Do along with valuable life skills to help them succeed. Sensei Jones teaches respect and discipline in a safe, energetic environment. The style of Karate-Do studied is Go Ju-Ryu. The emphasis is on harmonizing, neutralizing and redirecting offensive force to your advantage. This class introduces the basic skills of Aikido in a safe and fun manner, simple Japanese terminologies will be used in class to preserve the heritage of the art. Parental permission form must be signed at drop off for children 6-9 yrs to attempt swim test. An unlimited amount of year olds will be admitted year olds will receive a green band and will be allowed to swim in the pool without a PFD Friday Night Fun is a drop in program Children are signed in for ratio purposes and supervised by program staff Children must abide by all rules Snacks/beverages are available for purchase during the program Children are responsible for their own belongings. Equipment: Players must supply all equipment. Eye protection is mandatory at all times to avoid eye injury. Eye glasses are not considered proper eye protection. Squash is available to clients aged 7 years or older without a parental supervision. Children 4-6 years must be playing with an individual 14+ years. At least one game per week at a mutually agreed upon time How it works: The ladder lists members in ability order and players move up the ladder by challenging and beating those listed above them. If you successfully challenge another member (i.e. you win), then you move up to your opponents position on the ladder, and your opponent will fall by one place. TUESDAY 9:30-10:30am Three segments of your favourite fitness components all wrapped into one class. A different combination each week! 6:45-7:45pm Muscle Up Tone and strengthen all major muscle groups with high reps in this full body workout with the use of barbells and/or hand weights. Modifications for all fitness levels. WEDNESDAY 9:30-10:30am? Surprise Wednesdays! A different class each week 7:00-8:00pm Tabata HIIT High Intensity Interval Training using timing for a hard core cardio and muscle conditioning workout. THURSDAY 9:30-10:30am Body Tone A class that combines both cardio and muscle conditioning segments. High repetitions using hand weights, tubes, stability balls and one s own body for a great endurance conditioning class. FRIDAY 9:30-10:30am Step Cardio/ Muscle Up Tone and strengthen all major muscle groups with high reps in this full body workout with the use of barbells and/or hand weights. Step Cardio added in for a complete workout. SUNDAY 9:30-10:30am No Class Oct. 7th Muscle Up Tone and strengthen all major muscle groups with high reps in this full body workout with the use of barbells and/or hand weights. 20 Victoria Park Community Pool Admission Standards RED BAND - 5 YEARS OF AGE OR UNDER Children 5 years of age or under may not be admitted to the swimming pool unless they are accompanied by a parent/guardian who is responsible for their direct supervision(within arm s reach) One parent/guardian required per two children. YELLOW BAND YEARS Yellow bands are to be worn by children who are between 6 and 9 years of age. Must be accompanied by a parent/guardian that is responsible for their direct supervision (in the same area of the pool). Ratio is a maximum of 4 bathers to 1 parent/guardian. Ratio may be increased to 8:1 if lifejackets are worn by all yellow band swimmers. GREEN BAND YEARS Children 6-9 years of age who are able to pass the facility swim test may be admitted to the pool unaccompanied but must have a guardian present. Swim test = swim 2 widths of the pool with face in the water using a comfortable breathing pattern Children 6-9 years of age will be required to take the facility swim test each visit if they want to receive a green band years of age may be admitted to the pool unaccompanied, no swim test required, green band required. Must have a guardian present. NO Band Required- 12 Years+ 12+ years of age considered as a guardian in the pool, no swim test, no band required. Guardians are responsible for the children in their care while in the facility and must directly supervise the children at all times.

21 WATER AEROBICS Water is the best location for all fitness levels and ages. Whether you are just starting out in classes or you like a challenge, water aerobics may be the place to start. No swimming skills are needed. All exercises can be modified for your fitness level. Aqua Fit: A high energy aquatic program that focuses on cardiovascular conditioning and muscular toning. Deep Water: A no impact aquatic workout in the deep end. Focuses on endurance, cardio, and tones. Float belts supplied. Shallow Joint Together: A low intensity aquatic program of motion, flexibility, cardiovascular conditioning & balance. Deep Water Walking: For those wanting to and are able to go into deep water.
