Five of Bowling Green s final seven conference weekends will be on the road. For the second-straight season, the Falcons are off to a 3-3 start in Mid-American Conference play. Half of the league, including BGSU, is 3-3 in MAC play. Miami is one of three schools with 4-2 records, while Northern Illinois (2-4) and Western Michigan (1-5) sit in the bottom two slots within the conference. Bowling Green ranks third in the conference with 235 hits. The Falcons are fifth in the MAC in doubles (43) and walks (104). BGSU is tied for second in the conference in saves (7) and runners picked off (6). Head Coach Danny Schmitz earned his 700th win at BGSU on March 25. Schmitz is at BGSU all-time. Through the first six games of league play, senior Randy Righter leads the conference in batting average (.522) and slugging percentage (.913). Righter is tied for first in MAC play with 12 hits, while he sits second with a.542 on-base percentage. Freshman southpaw David Stopp struck out a career-high six batters in last Saturday s start versus Eastern Michigan. Senior Kody Brown owns a 2.36 ERA over a team-high 34.1 innings pitched. He ranks fifth all-time with 84 appearances. He needs eight more appearances on the season to break the school record. Zac Carey sits fourth all-time in innings pitched (263.2). On the season, he ranks second in the category with 33.1 innings pitched.
