HIGHLIGHTS: Shawn Tolleson settled down after a rocky first inning and struck out 11 in 6.0 innings. Joey Hainsfurther s RBI triple provided winning run. Josh Turley allowed one hit in 3.0 innings to pick up save in first outing of career. Gregg Glime and Landis Ware both went 2-for-4 with two RBI. #22 GEORGIA 7, BAYLOR 5 FEB. 19 BAYLOR BALLPARK WACO, TEXAS GEORGIA BAYLOR WP: Earls (1-0). LP: Verrett (0-1). Sv: McRee (1). HIGHLIGHTS: Georgia jumped out to a 4-0 lead, but Max Muncy s two-run homer cut it in half in the fifth, and Joey Hainsfurther s tworun single tied it in the sixth. The Bulldogs added on three more, and though Muncy led off the ninth with his second homer, Baylor fell short, stranding the tying run on second base. Logan Verrett took the loss, allowing six runs in 7.0 innings. BAYLOR 3, DUKE 2 FEB. 20 BAYLOR BALLPARK WACO, TEXAS DUKE BAYLOR X WP: Blank (1-0). LP: Grisz (0-1). Sv: Pinckard (1). HIGHLIGHTS: Craig Fritsch held Duke to two runs, one earned, in 5.0 innings, and the Baylor bats finally broke through when Gregg Glime doubled home Jake Miller, and two innings later, Brooks Pinckard drove in Glime with the game-tying run. Pinckard scored the winning run on Logan Vick s RBI single, and then moved to the mound to pick up his first save of the season. BAYLOR 5, #22 GEORGIA 2 FEB. 21 BAYLOR BALLPARK WACO, TEXAS GEORGIA BAYLOR X WP: Kempf (1-0). LP: Dieterich (0-1). Sv: Pinckard (2). HIGHLIGHTS: Willie Kempf allowed one hit in each of his 6.0 innings of work, but he held Georgia to just an unearned run. The only two baserunners to advance past second base against Kempf did so on failed pickoff attempts. Joey Hainsfurther tied the game with a fifth-inning RBI single, and Landis Ware gave the Bears the lead for good when he drove in Raynor Campbell. Georgia put two on with one out in the ninth, but Brooks Pinckard recovered for his second save in as many days. BAYLOR 3, TEXAS STATE 2 FEB. 26 BAYLOR BALLPARK WACO, TEXAS TEXAS STATE BAYLOR X WP: Turley (1-0). LP: Smith (0-1). Sv: Pinckard (3). HIGHLIGHTS: Raynor Campbell tied the game with a RBI single in the sixth, and Gregg Glime s eighth-inning sacrifice fly plated pinch runner Don Lambert with the game-winning run. Shawn Tolleson struck out six and allowed two runs over 6.0 innings, and freshman Josh Turley worked a pair of scoreless innings of relief to get the win. Brooks Pinckard earned the save for the third consecutive game. WESTERN KENTUCKY 6, BAYLOR 2 FEB. 28 BAYLOR BALLPARK WACO, TEXAS WESTERN KY BAYLOR WP: Cameron (1-0). LP: Kempf (1-1). Sv: none. HIGHLIGHTS: Western Kentucky scored five runs against Willie Kempf, and the Baylor offense was stagnant until the fourth inning when Logan Vick and Joey Hainsfurther led off with hits, and Dan Evatt delivered a two-run single. Josh Turley gave up a solo homer to the first batter he faced, but the Baylor bullpen held the Hilltoppers scoreless the rest of the way. Kolt Browder allowed just one hit over 3.0 innings in his first collegiate appearance. Shane Cameron struck out eight Bears in 6.0 IP. BYU 7, BAYLOR 5 MARCH 2 BAYLOR BALLPARK WACO, TEXAS BYU BAYLOR WP: Hardesty (1-1). LP: Kempf (1-1). Sv: McKnight (1). HIGHLIGHTS: Baylor quickly took a 2-1 lead when Max Muncy and Raynor Campbell both delivered RBI singles, but the Bears offense plated only one more run before its last at-bat. Campbell drove in a pair of runs in the bottom of the ninth, but Abel Baker grounded out with the tying run on first base to end the game. Trent Blank took the loss despite working a career-best 6.2 innings and striking out eight. LOUISIANA TECH 14, BAYLOR 6 MARCH 3 BAYLOR BALLPARK WACO, TEXAS LA TECH BAYLOR WP: Stefan (1-2). LP: Fritsch (0-1). Sv: none. HIGHLIGHTS: Joey Ford s Grand Slam helped the Bulldogs build a 6-0 lead, but the Bears answered with five runs to cut the deficit to one. Max Muncy and Raynor Campbell both hit two-run homers, and Jake Miller s sacrifice fly brought the Bears within one, but the Bulldogs put the game away with eight runs over the last three innings against the Baylor bullpen. Muncy had three hits for the second consecutive game. ORAL ROBERTS 6, BAYLOR 5 MARCH 5 BAYLOR BALLPARK WACO, TEXAS ORU BAYLOR WP: Burleson (1-0). LP: Tolleson (1-1). Sv: Smolen (1). HIGHLIGHTS: ORU plated four unearned runs in sixth to saddle Shawn Tolleson with loss. Raynor Campbell hit pair of RBI doubles, Brooks Pinckard went 2-for-3 with two walks and a steal, but he was left stranded on first base in the ninth. Tom Filip worked out of basesloaded, one-out jam in eighth, but Bears unable to mount rally. BAYLOR 14, ORAL ROBERTS 2 (7 INN.) MARCH 6 BAYLOR BALLPARK WACO, TEXAS ORU BAYLOR X WP: Verrett (1-2). LP: Torrence (0-1). Sv: none. HIGHLIGHTS: Logan Verrett struck out career-high 11 and turned in Big 12 s first complete game of season. Verrett allowed just a pair of unearned runs. Max Muncy s two-run double and Gregg Glime s threerun homer gave Bears big lead in first, and Chris Slater homered on consecutive swings in fifth and sixth. Joey Hainsfurther went 4-for-4. HIGHLIGHTS: Bears rallied from five down to tie, then rallied from three down to take series. Raynor Campbell tied game with RBI single in fifth, hit game-winning homer in sixth and added two insurance runs with another homer in eighth. Jon Ringenberg retired first 10 batters of game before running out of gas. Josh Turley earned win by allowing one run over final 4.0 innings; struck out five. HIGHLIGHTS: Bears used eight pitchers to get win. Six relievers combined to hold LTU scoreless over final 7.2 innings. Chris Slater drove in game-winning run with sacrifice fly in second. Brooks Pinckard had three-hit game to extend career-best hitting streak to nine. Landis Ware hit two-run homer, and Logan Vick hit first career homer and scored three times. LP: Riegler (0-1). Sv: Pinckard (5). HIGHLIGHTS: Max Muncy s Grand Slam gave Baylor an early lead, but UIC rallied against Shawn Tolleson. Bears overcame second deficit of night with three-run eighth inning. Gregg Glime tied game with RBI single, and Landis Ware put the Bears ahead with RBI triple. Brooks Pinckard worked around a walk, single and hit batter to escape basesloaded jam in ninth; earned fifth save in as many outings on the year. BAYLOR 10, ILLINOIS-CHICAGO 1 MARCH 13 BAYLOR BALLPARK WACO, TEXAS ILL.-CHICAGO BAYLOR X WP: Verrett (2-2). LP: Heesch (1-2). Sv: Fritsch (1). HIGHLIGHTS: Logan Verrett settled down and held UIC to three hits between second and sixth innings. Chris Slater broke tie with two-run homer in sixth, and Craig Fritsch came on with two on and no out in seventh. Fritsch retired the next three batters to escape the jam, then stranded five over next two innings for the save as Bears added on. BAYLOR 15, ILLINOIS-CHICAGO 2 (7 INN.) MARCH 14 BAYLOR BALLPARK WACO, TEXAS ILL.-CHICAGO BAYLOR X WP: Kempf (3-1). LP: Kovacevich (0-4). Sv: none. HIGHLIGHTS: Bears jumped out to early lead and put game away in fourth when they sent 12 batters to the plate. Steve DalPorto doubled twice in the inning as part of a 3-for-3 effort, and Joey Hainsfurther added a three-run homer in his 3-for-3 game. Hainsfurther collected 4 RBI for second straight game. Jon Ringenberg worked two shutout innings. TEXAS A&M 4, BAYLOR 2 FEB. 27 BAYLOR BALLPARK WACO, TEXAS TEXAS A&M BAYLOR WP: Stripling (2-0). LP: Verrett (0-2). Sv: Stilson (1). HIGHLIGHTS: Logan Verrett worked 7.0 innings for the second consecutive outing, but John Stilson held the Baylor offense hitless in 4.0 innings to notch the save. After falling behind 4-0, Max Muncy drove in the Bears first run with a RBI single, and three batters later Raynor Campbell drew a bases-loaded walk to get the Bears within two, but Stilson struck out the next two batters, and the Bears had just one baserunner the rest of the way. Craig Fritsch worked a pair of scoreless innings in relief, running the Baylor bullpen s streak to 17.0 consecutive innings without allowing an earned run to start the season. BAYLOR 7, ORAL ROBERTS 6 MARCH 6 BAYLOR BALLPARK WACO, TEXAS ORU BAYLOR X WP: Blank (2-1). LP: Roberts (0-2). Sv: Pinckard (4). HIGHLIGHTS: Bears used same lineup in second game of doubleheader. Raynor Campbell went 2-for-2 with HR and four RBI. Campbell gave Bears lead with HR in first, gave BU lead again with sacrifice fly in third, and tied game with RBI single in fifth. Trent Blank worked 4.1 innings and allowed one run to get win in relief. Logan Vick went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Brooks Pinckard stranded tying run on first base in eighth and ninth innings for fourth save in as many outings. #13 OKLAHOMA 7, BAYLOR 6 MARCH 19 L. DALE MITCHELL PARK NORMAN, OKLA. BAYLOR OKLAHOMA X WP: Rocha (3-0). LP: Tolleson (1-2). Sv: Erben (1). HIGHLIGHTS: Bears rallied, but couldn t overcome five unearned runs in second inning. Josh Turley turned in 2.2 innings of shutout relief, and Logan Vick and Landis Ware each homered. Joey Hainsfurther was left standing on second base as potential tying run in ninth. Shawn Tolleson gave up two home runs, as both teams struggled to keep the ball in the park with a 25 mph wind blowing out to left-center. 48

HIGHLIGHTS: Bears rallied from two runs down just in time, as rain ended game during seventh-inning stretch. Brooks Pinckard s homer tied the game, and Dan Evatt came around to score winning run on wild pitch after reaching on walk. Logan Vick homered for third consecutive game, extending his hitting streak to nine straight. Seven different BU pitchers worked 1.0 inning each, holding Roadrunners to one earned run with 12 Ks. KANSAS 9, BAYLOR 8 MARCH 26 BAYLOR BALLPARK WACO, TEXAS KANSAS BAYLOR WP: Walz (4-2). LP: Tolleson (1-3). Sv: Bochy (4). HIGHLIGHTS: Max Muncy s two-run single helped Bears overcome early deficit, but BU lost four-run lead due to four unearned runs in fifth. Bears were hitless from fifth through eighth innings, and Joey Hainsfurther was left standing on first base as potential tying run in ninth. Kansas top four hitters in lineup all had multiple hits, including Tony Thompson s 3-for-4 day with a homer and two runs. HIGHLIGHTS: BU lost an early three-run lead, but the Bears rallied to win on Joey Hainsfurther s eighth-inning sacrifice fly. Hainsfurther had three hits and two RBI. Max Muncy s two-run HR in second gave Baylor an early lead, and Craig Fritsch turned in 3.1 innings of solid relief. Kevin Winter notched the first win of his career by needing just two pitches to get two outs in eighth. KANSAS 12, BAYLOR 6 (14 INN.) MARCH 28 BAYLOR BALLPARK WACO, TEXAS KANSAS BAYLOR WP: Bochy (2-0). LP: Pinckard (0-1). Sv: none. HIGHLIGHTS: Bears overcame early deficit with big third inning for the third straight game, but like the series opener, BU gave the lead back. Max Muncy s three-run homer was one of seven Baylor hits in the third inning, but the Bears went hitless over the last 11 innings. Brett Bochy earned the win with 6.0 perfect innings of relief, and Brooks Pinckard took a tough-luck loss by allowing four unearned runs in his fifth inning of work. Pinckard threw out the potential go-ahead run at the plate from center field in the ninth, then worked 4.1 innings on the mound. BAYLOR 20, MISSOURI 6 (8 INN.) APRIL 3 TAYLOR STADIUM COLUMBIA, MO. BAYLOR MISSOURI WP: Browder (2-0). LP: Hardoin (1-2). Sv: none. HIGHLIGHTS: Shawn Tolleson (5 IP, 2 R) got no decision after Baylor bullpen blew early five-run lead, but Bears rallied for 15 runs against four Missouri relievers. Raynor Campbell s RBI single in the seventh put Bears on top for good. Logan Vick and Gregg Glime both homered in second inning. Landis Ware doubled twice in the seventh and Campbell doubled twice in the eighth. Glime and Ware both drove in four runs. BAYLOR 7, MISSOURI 3 APRIL 3 TAYLOR STADIUM COLUMBIA, MO. BAYLOR MISSOURI WP: Verrett (3-2). LP: Tepesch (2-2). Sv: Pinckard (7). HIGHLIGHTS: Logan Verrett worked 6.2 innings and struck out eight to give Bears sweep of doubleheader. Verrett didn t allow a runner to reach third base until there were two outs in the seventh inning. Max Muncy, Raynor Campbell and Landis Ware all hit solo homers for the Bears. Four different Baylor relievers allowed a pair of earned runs. Willie Kempf dominated through his first three innings, striking out seven, but he was pulled after allowing hits to five of the first six batters in the fourth. Max Muncy and Logan Vick both hit solo homers for the Bears. BAYLOR 12, TEXAS STATE 3 APRIL 6 BAYLOR BALLPARK WACO, TEXAS TX STATE BAYLOR X WP: Browder (3-1). LP: Borski (1-5). Sv: Fritsch (2). HIGHLIGHTS: Kolt Browder turned in longest outing of career to earn win in 5.0 innings of relief. Tyler Collins and Jon Ringenberg delivered back-to-back RBI singles that put the Bears on top for good in the fifth, and Baylor added on against the TSU bullpen. Jake Miller hit an eighthinning, pinch-hit 3R homer for the first of his career. Max Muncy extended his hitting streak to 10 by going 2-for-3 with 2 runs and 2 RBI. BAYLOR 15, NORTHWESTERN STATE 3 APRIL 7 BAYLOR BALLPARK WACO, TEXAS NW STATE BAYLOR X WP: Kempf (4-1). LP: Adams (1-3). Sv: none. HIGHLIGHTS: Willie Kempf delivered 3.2 innings of one-run relief to get Bears through middle innings. Joey Hainsfurther s two-run single in the third put the Bears on top early, and Brooks Pinckard s RBI single in the sixth gave them the lead for good. Pinckard went 3-for-4 with 2 R, 2 RBI and 2 SB. Andrew Cooley, Jake Miller, Wes Mercurio and Cal Towey delivered consecutive pinch hits in four-run eighth. #23 TEXAS A&M 4, BAYLOR 3 APRIL 9 OLSEN FIELD COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS BAYLOR TEXAS A&M X WP: Loux (5-2). LP: Tolleson (1-4). Sv: Stilson (5). HIGHLIGHTS: A two-out error led to three unearned runs in the sixth that proved to be the difference as Shawn Tolleson suffered another tough-luck loss. Error allowed tying run to score, and Brodie Greene hit next pitch for two-run homer. Joey Hainsfurther cut the deficit to one when he drove in Brooks Pinckard in the eighth, but the Bears couldn t push any more runs across. BAYLOR 13, #23 TEXAS A&M 1 APRIL 10 BAYLOR BALLPARK WACO, TEXAS TEXAS A&M BAYLOR X WP: Verrett (4-2). LP: Stripling (3-2). Sv: none. HIGHLIGHTS: Logan Verrett s 13 strikeouts set a new record for most by a Baylor pitcher at Baylor Ballpark. Verrett pitched first 9.0-inning complete game of season - a full 2.0 innings longer than any previous outing in his career. Landis Ware s RBI single gave Bears lead, and Gregg Glime s three-run homer broke it open. Glime finished 3-for-3 with a homer, triple, two walks, three runs and four RBI. Joey Hainsfurther went 3-for-5, and Cal Towey hit first homer of career. It was the largest win for Baylor in the history of the Battle of the Brazos. HIGHLIGHTS: Willie Kempf allowed one run in 5.1 innings, and Jon Ringenberg worked 2.0 hitless innings to get the win. Brooks Pinckard tied Baylor sophomore record by working a scoreless ninth for his eighth save. Joey Hainsfurther s RBI single tied it in the sixth, and Gregg Glime knocked a two-out RBI double to score Tyler Collins with the game-winning run in the seventh. BAYLOR 5, UT ARLINGTON 4 (10 INN.) HIGHLIGHTS: Gregg Glime drove in go-ahead run with sacrifice fly in 10th after putting Bears on top earlier with two-run triple. Craig Fritsch kept the Bears in the game by allowing just an unearned run on one hit in 4.2 innings of relief, and Kolt Browder and Brooks Pinckard held UTA scoreless over last 3.0 innings. Max Muncy tied the Baylor freshman home run record with his ninth, and Pinckard set a new Baylor sophomore saves record by posting his ninth. HIGHLIGHTS: Max Muncy s homer in the third gave Baylor the lead for good and gave him sole possession of the BU freshman home run record. Four Baylor relievers combined to hold UTA to one earned run over final 6.2 innings. Logan Vick tied Baylor Ballpark record by scoring five times, Joey Hainsfurther hit a three-run homer and a RBI double, and Chris Slater went 3-for-3 with three RBI. HIGHLIGHTS: Kansas State chased Shawn Tolleson after 0.1 inning, but Craig Fritsch turned in 5.1 innings of shutout relief to keep the Bears within striking distance. Landis Ware s RBI single and Brooks Pinckard s run-scoring groundout got the Bears halfway back, but Kansas State s bullpen turned in 5.0 innings of perfect relief. KANSAS STATE 5, BAYLOR 2 APRIL 17 TOINTON STADIUM MANHATTAN, KAN. BAYLOR K STATE X WP: Hunter (7-0). LP: Verrett (4-3). Sv: Allen (5). HIGHLIGHTS: Brooks Pinckard and Joey Hainsfurther delivered back-to-back doubles to start the seventh inning, breaking up Kyle Hunter s no-hit bid. Logan Verrett allowed just one earned run while striking out eight in 7.0 innings, but the Wildcats put the game out of reach with two runs off Tom Filip in eighth. Cal Towey s RBI double gave Bears lead in 3rd, and after SHSU answered, Towey again put the Bears on top with a two-run triple in fourth.
