The victory matched Binghamton s largest of the season, as did the 11 runs scored. Brock Peterson enjoyed his first multi-homer game in over two years, going back-to-back with Josh Rodriguez on the second one. Robert Gsellman allowed two unearned runs in his five innings to notch win number five. The win gave Binghamton the series. BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Rainy Lara is making his third start since returning to Binghamton. He s coming off a loss against Trenton, where he worked a season-high eight innings and allowed three runs. Lara also allowed a seasonhigh nine hits in the outing. It will be his second start against Richmond this season, shutting them out for 5.2 innings in the first go-round at The Diamond. RICHMOND STARTER: RHP Edwin Quirarte is making his 18th appearance and fifth start with Richmond. He will be facing Binghamton for the first time and making his first start in two weeks. Quirarte allowed a run in 2.2 innings of relief against Altoona in his last outing, three days ago. He threw 56 pitches. He has a 2.88 ERA at home this season. RECORD SETTING WIN: The B-Mets matched season-high s in their Wednesday win over New Britain in runs scored (11), home runs (3), and margin of victory (7). Brock Peterson also matched a B-Met season high by hitting two homers, while Gavin Cecchini matched a season-high with four hits. BROCK STAR: Brock Peterson hit multiple home runs in a game Wednesday for the first time since June 15th, He became the third B-Met to hit multiple home runs in a game this season. He was also a part of the second back-toback home runs hit by Binghamton this season, when he did so with Josh Rodriguez. MILESTONES: Brock Peterson has now hit 199 career home runs, while Josh Rodriguez sits at 97. ALLEY CAT STRIKEOUTS: The B-Mets pitching staff has struck out multiple batters in each of their last three games, including a season-high (14) in Tuesday s win. It s just the second time this season that Binghamton has reached double digits in three straight games. FIRST IMPRESSION: Former Rock Cat Joe Benson has reached base in his first 16 games with the B-Mets, recording a hit in 13 of them.
