WHITE SOX: The Braves and White Sox open a three-game weekend series tonight, as both clubs close out the first half of the season before the All- Star break...the Sox own a 7-5 advantage in the all-time series and won two-of-three games in Chicago in the last meeting in Tonight the Braves play the 11th game of the 20-game portion of their 2016 interleague slate... The Braves have gone 2-8 so far against Boston (1-3), Kansas City (1-2) and Cleveland (0-3). While the Braves own a record in 20 seasons of interleague play, they have gone just vs. the American League since Braves designated hitters have gone just 2-for-21 (.095) with no home runs or RBI in five games this season and have hit.243 with 14 home runs in 163 games in AL parks since The Braves are just 5-11 since they had a seasonbest six-game winning streak snapped on June 22. COMEBACK KIDS: Last night s 4-3 extra-inning win at the Cubs marked the Braves 15th come-from-behind win this season and their eighth in their last 10 victories. ROAD TRIP ODYSSEY: In the original version of the 2016 schedule released by Major League Baseball, this was slated to be a six-game road trip for the Braves (to PHI and CWS), with an off day in Chicago on today... The addition of Sunday s Fort Bragg Game (originally schedueld to be played at Turner Field) and a subsequent rainout at the Cubs on April 30 (re-scheduled for today) have turned the trip into an eight-game journey against four teams in four different ballparks. From last Saturday through tonigh, the Braves will have played in five different parks in a span of seven days: Turner Field, Fort Bragg Field, Citizens Bank Park, Wrigley Field and U.S. Cellular Field. CALLING ALL STARS: Major League Baseball announced the rosters for the 87th All-Star Game on Tuesday and RHP Julio Teheran will represent the Braves at this season s Mid-Summer Classic...This marks Teheran s second career selection (2014). Teheran returned to Atlanta on Monday to be treated for an infection on his right thigh...the club is hopeful that he will be able to start tomorrow. BRIAN SNITKER: In his 40th season in the Braves organization, Brian Snitker was named Atlanta s interim manager on May 17...He earned his first win on May 18 (at PIT) and his first home win on May 27 vs. MIA... TWO KAKES: OF Nick Markakis hit two home runs in last night s extra-inning win over the Cubs, with a two-run shot in the first inning and game-tying solo homer in the ninth...it doubled his 2016 home run output and was his third career multi-homer game and his first since Sept (vs. MIN). LENDING AN ASSIST: OF Ender Inciarte recorded his NL-leading 10th outfield assist of the season last night at the Cubs when he nailed Kris Bryant at second in the fourth inning...since breaking into the league in 2014, his 30 outfield assists rank T3rd in the majors behind Yoenis Cespedes (34) and Leonys Martin (31)...Adam Eaton also has 30. Since he broke into the league in 2005, Jeff Francoeur leads all Major League outfielders with 131 assists...teammate Nick Markakis, who broke in in 2006, ranks second in the span with 100 assists. Despite playing in just 51 games (169 at-bats), Flowers ranks second on the club with six homers. Flowers homer last Friday vs. MIA was the fourth of his career in the ninth inning or later that tied the score or gave his team the lead. NINE STRAIGHT: LHP Dario Alvarez fanned an Atlanta franchise record nine consecutive batters over a three-game stretch, July 2-July 7...He struck out the last two batters he faced on July 2 vs. MIA before allowing a single in the 11th inning last night to end the run.
