The Cubs have won 20 of 24 games within a single season for the first time since July 1-22, 1945 this run includes a six-game winning streak, a season-high nine-game winning streak and the current five-game run. The Cubs own the best road record in all of baseball with a mark, good for a.569 winning percentage, just ahead of the St. Louis Cardinals (33-26). Bryant has now hit 20 homers this season, the most in franchise history by any player in his first big league campaign he is only the fifth rookie in franchise history to reach 20 homers. Bryant leads all major league rookies in RBI (75), on-base percentage (.366), slugging percentage (.481), OPS (.847), game-winning RBI (11) and runs scored (70). HAVING A BLAST: Anthony Rizzo Saturday recorded his 25th homer of the season to become just the fifth left-handed hitter in franchise history to reach 25 home runs in multiple seasons (Anthony hit 32 home runs last year) Rizzo joins Billy Williams (10 times), Bill Nicholson (five), Henry Rodriguez (two) and Rick Monday (two) as franchise lefties with at least two seasons of 25 homers. Anthony has also reached 20 homers for the third-straight year he is the first Cubs left-handed hitter to reach 20 homers in threestraight years since Leon Durham s four-year run from in the last 55 years, Billy Williams is the only other Cubs lefty to turn the trick, as he did so in 13-straight years from THIS IS HIGHLY OFFENSIVE: The Cubs have hit 52 home runs since the All-Star break, tied with New York for most in the National League and one shy of Seattle for most in the majors in the team s last 12 games, Chicago has belted 29 long balls for an average of 2.4 homers per contest the Cubs rank second in the majors with 37 homers in August (the Mets have 38). Chicago is batting.270 (166-for-605) with 111 runs scored in its last 19 games since August 4, good for an average of 5.8 runs per game that includes a.307 average (47-for-153) with runners in scoring position. CROSSING THE PLATE AT A RAPID RATE: Dexter Fowler ranks third in the N.L. with 83 runs scored, trailing only Arizona s A.J. Pollock (89) and Washington s Bryce Harper (86) the 83 runs are just one shy of Fowler s career mark of 84, done in 2011 with the Rockies. Fowler has a.452 on-base percentage since the All-Star Break, the third-best OBP in the N.L. in that span his 31 walks since the start of the second half are second in the majors, trailing only Joey Votto (46). In his last 11 games, Fowler is 18-for-42 (.429) with 12 runs, five doubles, two triples, three homers, six RBI and seven walks he has posted a OPS thanks to a.529 on-base percentage and an.857 slugging mark in this stretch.
