In the early game, Jake Arrieta allowed two runs in 6.2 innings en route to his team-leading ninth win of the season Anthony Rizzo belted his team-leading 16th home run and Chris Denorfia drove in three runs. In the nightcap, Taylor Teagarden delivered a go-ahead RBI single while Chicago plated three runs in the seventh inning thanks to an Addison Russell RBI single, a Dexter Fowler RBI fielder s choice and error, and a Rizzo sac fly Dallas Beeler made the start and allowed two runs in 5.0-plus innings of work.
