The previous time the Cubs followed a skid of at least six-straight games with at least five victories was in 2013 (0-6, May then 5-0, May 26-31). Last night s setback also snapped Chicago s eight-game home winning streak dating to May 23 it was the team s longest winning streak at Wrigley Field since a nine-game winning streak last August 16-September 2. Following this four-game set, the Cubs on Monday embark on a stretch in which 17 of 20 games through July 2 are on the road that begins with a six-game trip at the Mets (three games starting Monday) and at the Pirates (three games beginning June 16). Monday also begins a stretch in which 21 of Chicago s next 24 games are outside its own division.
