Liberty (33-16, 15-3 ASUN) and Radford (22-27, 12-9 Big South) renew their rivalry with a single game Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Kamphuis Field at Liberty Softball Stadium. Liberty and Radford were conference rivals from , so it was fitting that they met in the 2018 Big South Softball Championship final, which Liberty won 5-1 at Radford, May 12, The Highlanders downed Liberty 3-2 in nine innings on April 13, 2018, which was the first game of the three-game series. Liberty won games two and three of the series, sparking a program-record 19-game winning streak that was snapped in the NCAA Columbia Regional final. Both Liberty and Radford celebrated Senior Day over the weekend with series sweeps. Liberty outscored Jacksonville 14-1 in the sweep, while Radford swept Hampton by a combined Liberty has swept each of its last four ASUN opponents and is currently on a program-record 12-game conference winning streak. In conference play, Liberty bats.301 as a team, scoring 4.8 runs per game. The Lady Flames have posted a 1.09 ERA in ASUN games. Sixth-year head coach Dot Richardson needs one more win to reach 200 career victories. Richardson s 100th win came at Gardner-Webb, April 14, 2017, just over two years ago. Liberty (1.56 ERA) is currently ranked sixth in the nation in team ERA, and the Lady Flames have tossed 15 shutouts. Liberty has thrown two no-hitters, including a perfect game from Julia DiMartino versus Princeton and a four-pitcher no-hitter versus Quinnipiac. Liberty returns eight all-conference players from last year s team, led by two-time Big South Pitcher of the Year Julia DiMartino, 2019 ASUN Preseason Player of the Year Autumn Bishop and Amber Bishop. All three were named to the NFCA All-Region team each of the last two years. Autumn Bishop was named to the 2019 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Top 50 Watch List. Autumn Bishop was named ASUN Player of the Week on Monday, the fourth Lady Flame to earn the honor this season. She batted.583 with five runs scored and five RBI last week. DiMartino, a two-time NFCA All-Region pitcher, is 17-7 with a 1.11 ERA,.192 opponents batting average, three shutouts and four saves. Chase Cassady is 10-2 with a 1.37 ERA and a.204 opponents batting average. DiMartino (11th nationally) and Cassady (23rd) are ranked first and third in the ASUN in ERA. Liberty, UCLA, Alabama and Oklahoma are the only teams in NCAA Division I softball to have two pitchers ranked in the top 25 nationally in ERA. Amber Bishop bats.387 and leads the ASUN in hits (63) and home runs (10), also leading the team in runs (35), doubles (12) and RBI (30). Her twin sister, Autumn Bishop, hits.376 and leads the ASUN with a.480 on base percentage. Jaclyn Amader (.328) is second on the team with 27 RBI, while Madison Via (.320) leads Liberty with 16 stolen bases. Sarah Robertson (.319) carries a.416 on base percentage. Player Quick Hits and 2018 Big South Pitcher of the Year Julia DiMartino holds the program s career records in seven different categories while also holding seven program single-season records. - DiMartino has posted a 6-1 record and 0.58 ERA in 48 2/3 innings pitched so far this month. She has gone 10-1 with a 0.44 ERA at home this season, allowing just four earned runs in 64 innings. - Chase Cassady has gone 3-1 with a 0.65 ERA in 32 1/3 innings pitched this month. Cassady is 4-0 with a team-best 0.82 ERA in conference play. At home, Cassady is 6-0 with a 0.54 ERA. - Seniors DiMartino ( ) and Cassady ( ) have both improved their ERA every year that they have been at Liberty. - Emily Kirby pitched her third career complete game on March 16 at Kennesaw State. She has batted a teambest.462 with seven doubles, seven homers and 17 RBI in 21 home games this season. - Sarah Robertson and Amber Bishop are two out of six Lady Flames all-time with 200+ career hits, 100+ RBI and 100+ runs scored. - Robertson has batted.420 with four doubles and 12 RBI at home this season. - Robertson is the first player in program history with 40 career steals and 40 career doubles. - Autumn Bishop is riding a 13-game hitting streak, and has two hits each in three out of her last four games. Last year, Bishop went on a 20-game hitting streak that was the third longest hitting streak in program history. Autumn Bishop recorded her sixth career two-double game against Duke. - Madison Via is fourth on the team with a.360 average in 15 ASUN games this season. She hit an inside-the-park home run against Stetson on April 6, the first Lady Flame to hit an inside-the-park homer inside Liberty Softball Stadium. - Jaclyn Amader went 4-for-4 against BYU on Feb. 8, becoming the first player in program history with four hits in a season opener. She homered and tied a career high with four RBI on March 16 at Kennesaw State. Amader leads the conference with a.426 batting average in ASUN play this year. - Amader has batted.403 with six doubles, two homers and 18 RBI in the last 22 games. - After batting 2-for-21 as a freshman, sophomore Alexis Erich has a.379 OBP and 18 RBI this year. Erich was Liberty s first-ever ASUN Softball Player of the Week honoree, March 4. - Erich s two-out RBI single tied the game at 5-5 in the seventh inning at Duke, March Freshman Kara Canetto posted two doubles March 27 at Duke, including a go-ahead two-run double in the ninth before sustaining a season-ending injury. - Kaitlin McFarland hit.500 (4-for-8) during the North Florida series, posting back-to-back two-hit games in the final two contests. She is batting.353 (6-for-17) in six games started this month. - Kayla Harris, who played catcher at Liberty as a freshman in 2017, before playing the 2018 season at Northwest Florida State College, has returned to the Lady Flames this season. Harris hit her first two career homers April 6 in a 5-3 win over Stetson.

Liberty is the only school to have both its baseball and softball stadiums recognized by NCAA.com that year. Liberty Softball Stadium Named No. 10 College Softball Stadium Through a fan vote conducted by FloSoftball.com, Liberty Softball Stadium was voted the sixth best college softball stadium in the nation in 2017, and is 10th this year. Louisiana Lafayette s Lamson Park was voted No. 1. In 2016, Liberty Softball Stadium appeared second on the list, trailing only LSU s Tiger Park. Stadium Dedication Liberty officially dedicated its new facility prior to the Lady Flames doubleheader against Presbyterian on April 3, A pregame ceremony took place, as former Liberty head coach Paul Wetmore provided the invocation. Liberty President Jerry Falwell, along with current head coach Dot Richardson, threw out the ceremonial first pitches. Becki Falwell and Liberty Director of Athletics Jeff Barber were also a part of the ceremony. The highlight of the pre-game ceremony was the announcement of naming rights of the field, which will now be called Kamphuis Field at Liberty Softball Stadium. Dwayne Kamphuis, a financial supporter of Liberty University and the softball program, is a legendary fast pitch softball pitcher. Kamphuis traveled the world playing in exhibition softball games as part of the renowned King and His Court team, headed up by Eddie The King Feigner. Extra, Extra Liberty downed Coastal Carolina, 5-4 in 10 innings on April 18, 2015 the first extrainning game in Liberty Softball Stadium history.
