Moore Field Auburn, Ala. Liberty (9-5) travels to Auburn, Ala., for the Wilson/DeMarini Classic, hosted by No. 2/3 Auburn. The Lady Flames will face the Tigers on both Thursday and Friday, while also taking on Texas State and College of Charleston on the weekend. The Lady Flames are 3-1 all-time against College of Charleston, and 0-2 versus Texas State. This will be Liberty s first meeting with Auburn. Liberty has posted one win over an SEC opponent in program history, defeating Arkansas, 5-2, Feb. 13, Lady Flames at a Glance Liberty went 4-1 at the Citrus Classic 1 last week, downing Oakland, Syracuse, Ball State and Morgan State while falling in a 10-inning heart-breaker to No. 3/3 Florida, 2-1. The Lady Flames lead the Big South in both batting average (.331) and team ERA (2.55). Freshman shortstop Amber Bishop ranks second in the Big South with a.413 batting average, also adding two homers and 16 RBI. Bishop s twin sister, Autumn, the reigning Big South Freshman of the Week, bats.386 with a conference-leading 15 runs scored. Jasmeen Click bats.393 with a team-leading six stolen bases, while Tori Zavodny hits.370. In the circle, Julia DiMartino (2-1, 1.02 ERA) and Kenzie Friesen (3-0, 1.84) rank first and second in the Big South in ERA. Chase Cassady (2-3, 2.87) is fifth in the conference in ERA, while Cassady and Friesen have tossed one shutout apiece. The Lady Flames were two outs away from knocking off No. 3/3 Florida, last Saturday, taking a 1-0 lead in the top of the ninth before falling to the Gators, 2-1, in 10 innings. Liberty went 0-4 against ranked opponents last year, falling to No. 17/17 UCF (Feb. 11), No. 5/5 Alabama (Feb. 14), No. 21/21 Baylor (Feb. 19) and No. 5/6 LSU (March 5). In 2007, Liberty knocked off No. 23 Hawai i, No. 10 Baylor and No. 6 Michigan. (4/18/15) Kamphuis Field at Liberty Softball Stadium Liberty Softball Stadium Named No. 6 College Softball Stadium Through a fan vote conducted by FloSoftball.com, Liberty Softball Stadium was voted the sxith best college softball stadium in the nation in Louisiana Lafayette s Lamson Park was voted No. 1. Last year, Liberty Softball Stadium appeared second on the list, trailing only LSU s Tiger Park. Stadium Dedication Liberty officially dedicated its new facility prior to the Lady Flames doubleheader against Presbyterian on April 3, A pregame ceremony took place, as former Liberty head coach Paul Wetmore provided the invocation. Liberty President Jerry Falwell, along with current head coach Dot Richardson, threw out the ceremonial first pitches. Becki Falwell and Liberty Director of Athletics Jeff Barber were also a part of the ceremony. The highlight of the pre-game ceremony was the announcement of naming rights of the field, which will now be called Kamphuis Field at Liberty Softball Stadium. Dwayne Kamphuis, a financial supporter of Liberty University and the softball program, is a legendary fast pitch softball pitcher. Kamphuis traveled the world playing in exhibition softball games as part of the renowned King and His Court team, headed up by Eddie The King Feigner. Opening Games Liberty posted a 3-2 record at the Liberty Softball Classic, March 19-21, The Lady Flames opened their new Liberty Softball Stadium with a 9-2 win over Rider on March 19, and picked up wins over Princeton and Quinnipiac as well. Firsts for All During the first game in Liberty Softball Stadium history, March 19, 2015 against Rider, Megan Robinson recorded the first hit, Madison Kotchey the first double and RBI, Mickey Loveridge the first triple, Tori Zavodny the first stolen base and home run and Chandler Ball the first pitch, strikeout and first victory. One feat that has not been obtained during the history of Liberty Softball Stadium is a grand slam. Extra, Extra Liberty downed Coastal Carolina, 5-4 in 10 innings on April 18, 2015 the first extrainning game in Liberty Softball Stadium history. At three and a half hours, it was also the longest game in stadium history. The Lady Flames are 3-2 in extra-inning contests at Liberty Softball Stadium. Lights, Camera, Action The new stadium is equipped with the latest technology, making it ready for television broadcasts. A majority of Liberty s home games are scheduled to air either as full TV broadcasts and/or as live video webstreams. With home and visting radio booth available, most home games will air on 90.9 FM The Light as well.

Last week, she batted.412 with three runs scored, one double and four RBI. She also posted three two-hit games on the weekend. So far this season, Bishop leads the Big South with 15 runs scored, ranking sixth in both batting (.386) and on-base percentage (.481). Pitching Shines at Citrus Classic 1 Liberty went 4-1 at the Citrus Classic 1 last weekend at ESPN Wide World of Sports. The Lady Flames pitchers allowed just two earned runs all weekend, good for a 0.39 ERA and.142 opponents batting average. Julia DiMartino tossed 16 2/3 innings over three games, yielding no earned runs while striking out 16. Kenzie Friesen allowed no runs in 11 innings pitched, including a one-hit shutout on Sunday against Morgan State during which she struck out a career-high seven. Arguably Liberty s most impressive pitching performance came on Saturday, as Cassady (4 IP) and DiMartino (5.2 IP) held No. 3/3 Florida hitless through the first six innings and allowing just two runs (both unearned) in a 2-1, 10-inning setback. Blazing the Basepaths In their first three years under the direction of Head Coach Dot Richardson, the Lady Flames averaged 85 stolen bases per year. So far this year, Liberty has averaged 2.0 steals per game, good for 30th in NCAA Division I. Jasmeen Click leads the way with six stolen bases, followed by four by Taylor Hoffman. Zavodny, a two-time all-conference selection, led the team in stolen bases each of the last two years. She is now ranked fifth in program history with 55 career steals. Round and Round We Go The Lady Flames have averaged a Big South-leading 5.57 runs per game, and the Bishop twins, Amber and Autumn, have been key catalysts to the offensive explosion. Autumn Bishop has averaged 1.07 runs scored per game, while Amber Bishop averages 1.14 RBI per contest. Spreading the Wealth Kenzie Friesen leads the team with three wins this season, while Chase Cassady, Julia DiMartino and Elizabeth Engler have two victories apiece. This is the first time since 2007 that four Lady Flames have posted multiple wins in the same season. Engler, a freshman, became the first Liberty pitcher since Katie Phillips in 1996 to win each of her first two collegiate pitching appearances. Making Sacrifices Liberty leads the Big South with six sacrifice flies this season. On Sunday, the Lady Flames tied a single-game program record with two sacrifice flies in a 7-0 win over Morgan State. The Lady Flames got sac flies from Deidra See and Amber Bishop, Sunday. Holding it Down Liberty has held each of its last five opponents to two runs or fewer. The last time that occurred was May 2-13, New Position, No Problem Last year, Sarah Robertson split the season between shortstop and second base, starting all 59 games. She never led off once during the 2016 season, but has started all 14 games this year at third base, leading off. Robertson has continued to produce at the plate, batting.313 while ranking third on the team in both RBI (10) and runs scored (9). Click-ing on all Cylinders Jasmeen Click has started all 14 games in center field, making a team-high four outfield assists and 23 putouts, several of the highlight-reel variety. Additionally, Click bats.393 (second on the team) with a team-high six stolen bases.

Two-time defending Big South champion Longwood was voted first in the preseason coaches poll. Three for Me Four Lady Flames have recorded a three-hit game so far this season, in Amber Bishop, Autumn Bishop, Sarah Robertson and Alexia Taylor. DiMartino ended the 2016 season with a record, 2.45 ERA, 187 strikeouts and seven shutouts, setting Liberty freshman records in wins, strikeouts, shutouts and nohitters. K Zone The Lady Flames set a program single-season record with 377 strikeouts in Chase Cassady averaged 8.05 strikeouts per seven innings, good for 34th in the nation. She struck out a career-high 11 batters in five innings pitched versus La Salle, March 12. Julia DiMartino struck out 7.76 batters per game, good for 45th among NCAA Division I pitchers. DiMartino set a career high with 13 K s against Sacred Heart, March Alexia Taylor registered 119 hits in her first two seasons as a Lady Flame. She became the first Lady Flame since Ashley Williams in 2006 to reach 100 career hits as a sophomore. Taylor was the fourth Liberty sophomore all-time to register 100 career hits, joining Williams, Cheryl Wyrick ( ) and Stacy Radulovich ( ). Family Matters Freshmen Amber and Autumn Bishop are twin sisters. They are the first sisters to play for Liberty softball team during the same season since Claire and Michelle Fridey in Sophomore pitcher Chase Cassady, last season s opening-day starter in the circle, is the younger sister of current Liberty assistant coach Paige Cassady.
