The Lady Flames (13-15, 2-1 Big South) split a doubleheader with Hampton on Tuesday, while the Camels (18-13, 1-4) swept Appalachian State at home on Wednesday. Campbell holds a 16-2 advantage in the all-time series, winning the last 10 meetings. Liberty s last victory over the Camels was on April 27, Lady Flames at a Glance Liberty has reached the midway point of the regular-season schedule. The Lady Flames have gone 9-5 in their last 14 games, during which the team is batting.306 while also posting a 2.04 team ERA. Megan Robinson, in the midst of a 12-game hitting streak, leads the team with a.353 average. Kelby Allen bats.352, while Tori Zavodny (.330) paces Liberty with 23 runs and 15 stolen bases. Alexia Taylor (.329) has recorded a team-best 17 RBI, while Mickey Loveridge (.299) has hit six doubles. The Lady Flames opened their new Liberty Softball Stadium with a 9-2 win over Rider on Thursday, and picked up wins over Princeton and Quinnipiac as well. Then, on Tuesday, the Lady Flames split a doubleheader at Hampton, winning game one, 6-2, before falling, 2-1, in the nightcap. All nine Lady Flames starters recorded a base hit in game one, as Liberty tied its season high with 12 hits. Firsts for All During the first game in Liberty Softball Stadium history, last Thursday against Rider, Megan Robinson recorded the first hit, Madison Kotchey the first double and RBI, Mickey Loveridge the first triple, Tori Zavodny the first stolen base and home run and Chandler Ball the first pitch, strikeout and first victory. RBI Time Alexia Taylor leads the Lady Flames with 17 RBI this season, including a career-high five RBI on March 14 at Gardner-Webb. Taylor s five RBI were the most by a Lady Flame since Jamie Crisp drove in five runs against East Tennessee State, April 24, Shutting Down Opponents Liberty has gone 9-5 over its last 14 contests, due in part to a strong showing from the pitching staff. During that span, Liberty s ERA is 2.19 and opponents have hit.242. Chandler Ball is 6-0 with a 0.99 ERA and.223 opponents batting average in her last 11 appearances. Kenzie Friesen has gone 3-4 with a 3.53 ERA and.220 opponents average since March 6, pitching two three-hitters in the process. Earlier this year, Ball was named Big South Pitcher of the Week after throwing two four-hit shutouts in one week. Ball is the first Liberty pitcher to throw multiple shutouts in a season since 2011, when Tiffani Smith threw three shutouts and Katrina Johnson had two. Heating Up Megan Robinson has batted.462 (18-for-39) during a career-high 12 game hitting streak. Hers is the longest hitting streak since Katie Zavodny tied the program record with a 23-game hitting streak, from Feb. 24 through April 3, In the last 10 games, Alexia Taylor and Madison Kotchey have both batted.400, with Taylor posting six two-hit games and 12 RBI during that stretch. Mickey Loveridge (.385) and Kelby Allen (.313) are batting.300 or better during the last 10 games. Off and Running Liberty is off and running again this season, stealing 47 bases in 28 games. The Lady Flames lead the Big South with 1.68 stolen bases per game. Tori Zavodny paces the team with 15 stolen bases, while Blair Lawrence has swiped 14 bases. This is Lawrence s third straight season with 10+ steals. The Lady Flames led the Big South and ranked 23rd nationally with 92 stolen bases last season. The program record of 93 was set in Liberty is on pace to swipe 94 bases this season. 100 RBI for Allen Kelby Allen recorded her 100th career RBI on March 14 at Gardner-Webb, becoming the eighth player in program history with 100 or more career RBI. With 104, Allen needs six more RBI to pass former teammate Sammi Shivock ( ) into seventh place alltime at Liberty in career RBI. 3-Hit Club So far this year, Tori Zavodny has posted four three-hit games, while Megan Robinson and Kelby Allen have registered two three-hit games apiece and Jamie Crisp, one. Allen leads current Lady Flames with eight career three-hit games. The other current Lady Flames to post a three-hit game during their time at Liberty are: Megan Robinson (5), Zavodny, (4), Crisp (2), Katie Han (2), Kassidy McCoy (2) and Blair Lawrence. No current Lady Flame has recorded a four-hit game while at Liberty.

Good First Impression Freshman RHP Abby Tincher made her first career start Feb. 13 against Arkansas, and pitched a complete game, as Liberty downed the Razorbacks, 5-2. She allowed two runs on five hits, walking six and striking out five. Tincher is the first Lady Flame with a complete-game win in her first career start since Dana Wheeler went all seven innings in a 14-1 win over Rhode Island, March 3, Top of the Class Senior second baseman Megan Robinson was named to the Big South All-Conference first team and Capital One Academic All-District third team last season. She became the first Academic All-American in program history. Those Names Sound Familiar Freshman outfielder Tori Zavodny, a three-time all-region player at Jay M. Robinson High School, is the younger sister of Katie Zavodny, who was a 2013 NFCA All-Region outfielder and holds Liberty s records for career and single-season stolen bases. Freshman pitcher Abby Tincher, the 2014 Timesland District Pitcher of the Year is the younger sister of former Virginia Tech pitcher Angela Tincher. Angela was a three-time NFCA All-American pitcher and 2008 USA Softball National Player of the Year. Freshman Madi Clarke s father, David Clarke, played baseball at Liberty from David Clarke appeared in 133 career games, hitting.241 with 19 doubles, nine homers and 60 RBI for the Flames. Welcome Newcomers Nearly half of Liberty s 17-player roster is comprised of newcomers. The Lady Flames welcomed seven freshmen and junior college All-American, transfer Mickey Loveridge for Seven newcomers (Loveridge and freshmen Jessica Cicerchia, Madi Clarke, Cassie Gingerich Madison Kotchey, Alexia Taylor and Tori Zavodny) all started in the Lady Flames 2-1 win over Loyola Chicago, March 8. Around the Bases On Feb. 14 against South Dakota State, Mickey Loveridge celebrated her birthday by hitting a two-run inside-the-park home run during the first inning.
