The Lady Flames and Camels will contest a doubleheader on Friday, starting at 5 p.m., before playing a single game, Saturday at 1 p.m. Liberty and Campbell both dropped non-conference doubleheaders on Wednesday, with the Lady Flames falling twice to Marshall and the Camels losing two at NC State. The Lady Flames went 2-1 in last year s series at Campbell, shutting out the Camels in back-to-back games to start the weekend. Campbell leads the all-time series, Lady Flames at a Glance Liberty ranks third in the Big South with a.282 batting average. Mickey Loveridge s.386 average leads the Lady Flames. Rylee Reynolds bats.337. Jaclyn Amader (.331) entered the week tied for third in the Big South with 11 doubles, while Alexia Taylor (.321) has posted a team-leading 29 RBI. Tori Zavodny (.273) is the conference leader in triples (5) and ranks fourth with 19 stolen bases, while Sarah Robertson hits.320. The Lady Flames lead the Big South with six shutouts this season, while also registering a 3.29 team ERA. Chandler Ball (4-4, 2.93 ERA) leads the Big South with three saves. Julia DiMartino (9-9) holds a 3.08 ERA, averaging 7.6 strikeouts per seven innings. Chase Cassady (7-7) averages 7.7 strikeouts per seven-inning game. (4/18/15) Kamphuis Field at Liberty Softball Stadium Liberty Softball Stadium Named No. 2 College Softball Stadium Through a fan vote conducted by FloSoftball.com, Liberty Softball Stadium was voted the second best college softball stadium in the nation. LSU s Tiger Park, where Liberty played last weekend, was voted voted No. 1, followed by Liberty Softball Stadium and Alabama s Rhoads Stadium, in that order. Stadium Dedication Liberty officially dedicated its new facility prior to the Lady Flames doubleheader against Presbyterian on April 3, A pregame ceremony took place, as former Liberty head coach Paul Wetmore provided the invocation. Liberty President Jerry Falwell, along with current head coach Dot Richardson, threw out the ceremonial first pitches. Becki Falwell and Liberty Director of Athletics Jeff Barber were also a part of the ceremony. The highlight of the pre-game ceremony was the announcement of naming rights of the field, which will now be called Kamphuis Field at Liberty Softball Stadium. Dwayne Kamphuis, a financial supporter of Liberty University and the softball program, is a legendary fast pitch softball pitcher. Kamphuis traveled the world playing in exhibition softball games as part of the renowned King and His Court team, headed up by Eddie The King Feigner. Opening Games Liberty posted a 3-2 record at the Liberty Softball Classic, March 19-21, The Lady Flames opened their new Liberty Softball Stadium with a 9-2 win over Rider on March 19, and picked up wins over Princeton and Quinnipiac as well. Firsts for All During the first game in Liberty Softball Stadium history, March 19 against Rider, Megan Robinson recorded the first hit, Madison Kotchey the first double and RBI, Mickey Loveridge the first triple, Tori Zavodny the first stolen base and home run and Chandler Ball the first pitch, strikeout and first victory. One feat that has not been obtained during the history of Liberty Softball Stadium is a grand slam. Extra, Extra Liberty downed Coastal Carolina, 5-4 in 10 innings on April 18, 2015 the first extrainning game in Liberty Softball Stadium history. At three and a half hours, it was also the longest game in stadium history. The Lady Flames are 2-0 in extra-inning contests at Liberty Softball Stadium Lights, Camera, Action The new stadium is equipped with the latest technology, making it ready for television broadcasts. A majority of Liberty s home games are scheduled to air either as full TV broadcasts and/or as live video webstreams. With a home radio booth available, most home games will air on 90.9 FM The Light as well.

Rylee Reynolds hit her first career homer in game one, while Tori Zavodny also homered during the 10-5 setback. Reynolds and Sarah Robertson both went 2-for-4 with an RBI during Liberty s 5-3, game-two loss. The doubleheader lasted six and a half hours, with game one taking 2:51 and game two lasting 2:57. It was Liberty s longest doubleheader since April 18, 2015 against Coastal Carolina, when the Lady Flames won game one, 5-4, in 2:22, while Liberty took game two, 5-4, in 10 innings, a game that lasted 3:30. Week in Review Liberty went 3-3 during six road games last week. The Lady Flames started the week by going 1-2 at defending Big South champion Longwood in a first-place battle. The Liberty bats caught fire during a 2-1 series victory at Presbyterian, batting.326 with six homers in three games. The Lady Flames outhit PC, 14-4, in a 7-1 win on Saturday. Liberty then broke a 5-5 tie with a five-run seventh inning in game two, downing PC, The team launched a season-high three homers during the second game. The Blue Hose salvaged the series finale, 6-3, Sunday. As a result of last week s action, Liberty (8-4) is one game behind conference leader Longwood (9-3) and ahead of both Coastal Carolina (9-5) and Radford (7-5). Three for Me Jaclyn Amader recorded her fifth three-hit game of the season, Sunday at Presbyterian. Her five three-hit games are the most by a Liberty freshman since Ashley Williams six in Nine Lady Flames have recorded a three-hit contest this season. Following Amader are: Mickey Loveridge (2), Alexia Taylor (2), Tori Zavodny (2), Katie Han, Kassidy McCoy, Rylee Reynolds, Sarah Robertson and Deidra See. 100 With her RBI single at Longwood, April 5, sophomore Alexia Taylor recorded her 100th career hit. She is the first Lady Flame since Ashley Williams in 2006 to reach 100 career hits as a sophomore. She is the fourth Liberty sophomore all-time to register 100 career hits, joining Williams, Cheryl Wyrick ( ) and Stacy Radulovich ( ). Three additional players, Dawn Jeffs ( ), Jessica Moore ( ) and Shannon Tanski ( ), all transfers, also recorded 100 hits in their first two years at Liberty. Freshman Julia DiMartino has recorded 111 strikeouts so far this season. Her 111 strikeouts are the most by a Liberty freshman since 2004, when Sarah Swor had 126 K s. Power Surge After hitting just 14 homers during the team s first 34 games, Liberty has exploded for nine home runs during its last six games played. This included six long balls during a series victory at Presbyterian. Madison Kotchey and Kassidy McCoy launched back-to-back homers during game one at PC. It was the first time since March 14, 2014 vs. Campbell (Kelby Allen and Sammi Shivock) that the Lady Flames had hit back-to-back home runs. Jaclyn Amader led off Saturday s 10-5 win over Presbyterian with a home run. The last Lady Flame to lead off a game with a home run was Alexia Taylor, April 18, 2015 against Coastal Carolina. Kassidy McCoy homered in back-to-back games at PC, boosting her team-leading home run total to four. Kotchey (March 18 vs. Winthrop) and Deidra See (March 31 vs. Hampton) have both homered in consecutive games once this season. Triple the Fun Tori Zavodny is tied for sixth in the nation with five triples this season, and is ranked fifth in program history with eight career triples. Sarah Robertson hit her third triple of the season at Longwood, last Wednesday, and she is tied for second in the league. Zavodny ranks fourth in the conference with 19 stolen bases this season, and sits sixth in program history with 42 career steals.

Youth Abounds Liberty s 12-member freshman class is the largest in program history, surpassing 11 freshmen from Five freshmen started the season opener this year, in Chase Cassady, Rylee Reynolds, Sarah Robertson, Jaclyn Amader and Katilin McFarland. In Liberty s last game at PC, six freshmen and three sophomores started. Moving on Up Chandler Ball, a 20-game winner last season, has posted 43 career wins. Big Comebacks Liberty trailed Lamar, 4-1, with one out in the bottom of the seventh, Feb. 27, before rallying to tie the game, 4-4. The Lady Flames then won the game, 6-5, in the 10th inning with a walk-off squeeze bunt, as Kassidy McCoy drove in Sarah Robertson from third. Then, facing a 6-4 deficit to Louisiana Tech with two outs in the seventh on March 4, McCoy hit a game-tying home run. Robertson s two-run blast in the eighth sparked Liberty s five-run spurt to an 11-6 win. Lady Flames Down Virginia Tech in Marlowe s Collegiate Debut Liberty split a doubleheader at Virginia Tech, March 30. The Lady Flames won game two, 2-1, behind a three-hitter from Stephanie Marlowe. Making her collegiate pitching debut, Marlowe allowed one unearned run on three hits. Liberty s win over Virginia Tech was its first at Tech Softball Park since May 4, 2006, and also gave the Hokies their first loss at home this season. DiMartino and catcher Alexia Taylor are the first Liberty battery to complete a no-hitter since Tiffani Smith tossed a no-hitter to Keely McMillon at Winthrop, May 13, DiMartino is just the second Liberty freshman to pitch a no-hitter, joining Leslie Inge (1997). Home Run Notables Madison Kotchey is the lone Lady Flame to hit a collegiate grand slam, hitting one during an elimination game against Coastal Carolina, May 8, Kassidy McCoy hit a career-high two homers at Charleston Southern on April 12, 2015, making her the only current Lady Flame to hit two homers in a game. Family Matters Freshman pitcher Chase Cassady, a two-time all-state pitcher from Orlando, Fla., is the younger sister of current Liberty assistant coach Paige Cassady.
