1 Steps Dance Center - Recital 2015 It s that time of year we all look forward to! Time to celebrate the hard work and dedication of our students. It s a busy, but an exciting time of year. Please let us know if you have any questions about any of this information! Mandatory Dress Rehearsal Dates Show A - May 30, 4:00PM Show B - May 31, 1:00PM Show C - May 31st, 5:00PM More information: Dancers must be dressed in costume with hair and make-up DONE by dress rehearsal start time. Please do not arrive earlier than 30 minutes before the start time. Please go directly to the auditorium located in the Neuqua Valley HS Fine Arts wing and look for your designated seats in the auditorium for your first dance. The classes will be indicated by a sign at the end of a row in the main seating area. We will run through the show in order from the beginning, excluding company pieces. Costume changes during dress rehearsal can be made in the restroom located in the lobby or in the black box. Dancers will watch the dress rehearsal in the auditorium. When the dancers finish their last dance, they will be allowed to go home. We welcome picture taking and video taping during dress rehearsal ONLY. Please do not block the area directly in front of the stage - that area must be kept clear due to fire and safety regulations. CeeCee Nedrow of Payton s Photography will be taking action photos that will be available for purchase following the recital. Recital Dates June 7pm (Show A - Please arrive by 6pm) June 1pm (Show B - Please arrive by 12pm) June 7pm ( Show - Please arrive by 6pm) June 3pm (Show C - Please arrive by 2pm) Please do not arrive earlier than the time stated above. More information: Dancers will stay BACKSTAGE during the entire show. DANCERS IN DANCE EXPLORATION, BASIC LEVEL & LEVEL 1 CLASSES: One female family member will be given a backstage pass with your child's name on it. You will use this to go back to the dressing room before the show and drop them off. The backstage pass will also allow you to get your child from the dressing room at the conclusion of the Finale. For security reasons, you will NOT be allowed in back during the show or intermission. If you feel your child needs you, you are welcome to volunteer in his/her dressing room. Please check in and out with the backstage volunteer in charge of your child's class.

2 Location All dress rehearsals and recitals will be held at Neuqua Valley High School th Street, Naperville (1/2 mile east of Rt 59 and 95th St) Food & Snacks There is NO EATING in the auditorium or the auditorium lobby. There will be a designated eating area. Please look for the signs. We also have concessions - everything will be sold for $1. If you pack food to bring with, please pack healthy, non-messy snacks. Water is the only beverage allowed in the dressing rooms. ALL SNACKS MUST BE FROM OUR APPROVED SNACK LIST ENCLOSED. We do have dancers with severe peanut and egg allergies! Ticket Office at Neuqua Valley The ticket office in the foyer of Neuqua Valley auditorium will be open and available for you as follows: First Aid Buying tickets (NO REFUNDS) Picking up your pre-ordered t-shirts Ordering your DVD or dropping off DVD order form with payment Picking up Steps Summer Schedule/Accepting Summer Registration Inquiring about Auditions Lost and Found Show Order The show order is included in this packet. Costume Details Costume details (tight color, shoes, accessories, etc.) can be provided by your dancer s teacher. Make-Up Members: Please use make up kit provided. Dance Exploration: pink blush, brown/tan eyeshadow, red lipstick Basic, Level 1 through 5: foundation, brown/tan eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, pink blush, red lipstick* *The SDC Parent Association is offering Recital Essentials kits that include bun kits, and other recital necessities. There is also an option to purchase recital makeup in this kit. NO JEWELRY OR NAIL POLISH PLEASE!! Hair Dance Exploration and Storybook dancers will wear their hair half up/half down. Your teachers can explain this style if you are uncertain. All other classes will wear a slicked back high bun. We will be sending a link to a tutorial for those of you who are not experienced in creating this style.

3 Class Pictures Class pictures will be taken during classes on the following dates: May 18th through May 23rd (at Steps) The order form for class pictures will be available at the studio. Please wear your costume to class on the day of your class pictures!!! If you have more than one recital class that day, wear the first one and bring the others to change. Individual Pictures If you wish to take individual pictures in costume, please sign up for a 10 minute time slot at the studio. The dates for individuals are May 17th, 9am - 5pm and May 24th, 11am - 5pm. Order forms are available at the studio. Recital Tickets Tickets go on sale May 2nd, 9:00am, at Ticket prices are: Adult $18 & Child/ Student $12 Text Shout Outs & Ads We are offering the opportunity to give a shout out to your favorite dancer in the recital program. Each ad will run in all four show programs. Order forms must be turned in to Steps by Saturday, May 16th. For a text shout out, the ads are $11 per line with a two line limit. If you want something bigger or would like to add a picture, you can purchase an ad. The order forms are found in this packet. Payment and order forms are due May 15th. Recital T-Shirts & DVDs DVD and T-shirt order forms are included in this packet. DVD s can also be ordered at dress rehearsal or the day of the show. T-shirt orders must be turned in by May 20th. We will have a limited number of shirts available at the recital. Shirts are $14 pre order and $17 at the recital.
