If so, this trip is just for you! Come with us to Publix Apron s Cooking School, where you will sit back and relax while you watch the Apron s chef prepare an American Regional menu of fried green tomatoes, California cobb salad, pecan encrusted port tenderloin with mashed potatoes and spinach, and chocolate macadamia nut pie. Nan Colton Coffee Talk: Frida Kahlo Don t miss this opportunity to see Nan Colton: a playwright, director, storyteller, actress and arts educator who has performed and lectured professionally on stages throughout South Africa, Great Britain and the United States. Nan will perform an original drama based on the life of Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo, a surrealist artist who expressed her feelings and thoughts through her paintings. Senora Frida was probably the most idolized female artist of her time and is today a figure of legendary power whose work inspires excitement throughout the world. Trip cost includes an abbreviated docent tour or your choice of current exhibits. On-your-own lunch afterward at MFA Café. Choices include unique appetizers, salads, and a selection of panini accompanied by greens or Greek potato salad. Vicki s Back O The Mill Tea Room, Largo Vicki's Back O' the Mill Tea Room is a bit of the old country. As in England, all the tablecloths are different and cream tea and afternoon tea are specialties. Your Victorian Tea will include your tea, tea sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and lemon curd, and desserts. The Owl and the Pussycat at Early Bird Dinner Theatre The Owl is Felix, an intellectual aspiring author (the evidence is the number of rejection slips he's received!) The Pussycat, Doris, is an aspiring model and actress who entertains gentleman callers to pay her bills. Having noticed the traffic at Doris apartment through his binoculars, Felix complains to the landlord, has her evicted, and finds he has trouble pounding on his door. Now the pussycat has nowhere to spend the night! Why not get revenge by imposing on The Owl for a bed? Through a battle of wits, words, and wisdoms Felix and Doris then begin to 'educate' each other in ways they never knew they could. Early Bird dinner buffet includes a full salad bar, mini Italian meatballs, carved top round roast beef, stuffed chicken breast, and assorted sides, rolls, tea or coffee, and dessert. The Woman s Exchange, Sarasota The Woman s Exchange was founded in 1962 as a way to raise funds for the Florida West Coast Symphony. The Exchange is currently housed in the former Sarasota Herald Tribune building, which has been on the National Register of Historic Places since Specializing in teak, rosewood and contemporary furnishings, fine Persian rugs, fine arts and antiques, and fine jewelry, the Exchange also offers ladies apparel and shoes, household items, china and glassware, and music and movies CDs. This is a shopping trip you won t want to miss! After leisurely shopping we will stop for a Dutch treat lunch at Citrus Café, a restaurant noted for its fresh and healthy sandwiches and salads.

Pulled by Percheron draft horses, Cinderella and Vis-à-vis coaches will carry us around Demen s Landing, The Pier, Vinoy Park, and Coffeepot Bayou. On-your-own dinner before the ride at Moon Under Water, a British Colonial restaurant that serves curries, specialty salads, fish and chips, fresh chicken, salmon and tuna, as well as Cuban, gyro, and hamburger sandwiches. Desserts include Chocolate Volcano, homemade cobbler and key lime pie. Mystery Trip Rovers, we saved this cool mystery for what may be one of the hottest days of the summer! Nunsense A-Men at The Show Palace Dinner Theatre A version of the Broadway show Nunsense, which prompted five sequels, Nunsense A-Men (the original show with all the characters portrayed by men in drag), was first staged in Brazil before transferring to New York City in A whole new layer of comedy surfaces when some of the Show Palace s funniest male performers decide to tackle temptation with a time step. Think of it as Mrs. Doubtfire enters the convent! As most of you know, the Show Palace s dinner buffet is consistently first-rate, with a wide choice of entrees, sides, a full salad bar and desserts. Lakeridge Winery August Stomp, Clermont The highlight during Lakeridge Winery s August stomping festival is jumping into a vat of grapes and pounding away. Just like a horse race, step up to the gates and then wait for the green light. After a countdown, everyone stomps in place inside barrels filled with green grapes. Pound. Smush. Stomp. For two minutes you dance in a two foot by two foot bucket, hoping the juice you've created with your toes flows out of a little hole and adds up to make you the winner. The winner of each heat walks away with a T-shirt. Live bands and artists selling their latest creations are also on hand. Inside, tours of the winery take place every few minutes.
