1 September October 2011 NEWSLETTER Country Lovers Western Dance Club HELLOOOOOOOOO Country Lovers! At our July Krazy Daze of Summer dance Jim Potter taught the line dance Lazy. We had two 50/50 winners: Louie Ladd and Maria Kilgore. Our raffle prize winners were Leona Lunt, Linda Gundrum and Christine Tolli. We want to thank those that brought in dessert and snacks, Winny, Leona, Christine, Sue, Rey and Gloria. And also thank you to Monica and Ernie for the delicious chocolate dipped strawberries. On Saturday August 6th our Club participated in the Ventura Fair Parade. Early that morning many club members worked hard decorating the truck and along the parade route several members danced in front of the judges. A big thank you to Mike Stark for organizing the parade entry project. Mike, Rey and Jesse worked together to create and build brand new seating for the parade float. Thank you to everyone who participated. I m very proud to say that our Club won 1st Place in the Adult Club category. Our Club dance team performed at the Ventura County Fair on Sunday August 14th. The dancers were Christine, Lan, Sue, Barbara, Mike, Terry, DuWayne, Leona, Michael, Collette, Rey, Gloria, Chuck and Becky. Many, many thanks to Carol Rogers for her time and expertise to once again lead the demo team to another successful performance. We had our colorful Fiesta dance on Saturday, August 20th. Jim Potter taught the Viva La Fiesta line dance. Marie Gariss won the 50/50 drawing. Our raffle prize winners were Sandy Osier, Chip Schleben and Ernie Johnson. Thanks to Gloria, Rey, Christine, Monica and Ernie for bringing in appetizers for all of us to enjoy. So, let s have fun & keep smiling on that dance floor...becky Blanchet...
