1 The Peach Beat August 11, 2018 Weekly Newsletter We had a great crowd on Saturday with multiple visitors! At our 8-18 meeting: 1) We will learn the Stroll-along-cha-cha line dance at 6pm. We will dance this at Shag-a-rama line dance exhibition. The class will be repeated on Sept 29. 2) We are giving away a free ticket to our Christmas party! You must have already paid for your ticket before 8-18 to be eligible for the drawing. 3) We will be drawing 6 names (from last year s Shag-a-rama event attendees) that will win tickets to the event this year. You do not have to be present to win. Thank you to Debbie Hicks for taking our photos. Nice to see Ronnie Hall back at ShagAtl after recent surgery.

2 In the category of it s a small world one of the visitors turned out to be Don Hicks junior high history teacher from South Carolina. Congrats to Betty Kane for winning second place in the Sandra Schwartz Mixed Doubles dance contest!

3 Congrats to Barbara Sullivan for winning split the kitty! She won $127. Thanks to June and Gary Jackson for selling split the kitty tickets!

Put this date on your calendar for the "STROLL ALONG CHA-CHA". This will be the line dance for the Panama City exhibition. Shag lessons will resume on September 1st. Remember this is one thing that is helping our club grow. Mention it to your friends. I have a few ShagAtlanta bags left - $5.00 each. I sold our last JACKIE & CHARLIE DVD but will have more soon. They are $10 each and with that $10 you might win $7,500 with the first drawing or $2,000 on the second draw or $1,000 on the third draw or $500 on the fourth draw or $250 on the fifth draw. The $10 gets you a chance to win five separate times. The money raised goes toward funding the Fun Monday s at SOS and the money left over is donated to Caring For Kids. Camp Sunshine Amount YTD: Thanks everyone for your donations to Camp Sunshine! $1, Camp Sunshine Fundraiser Debbie Avery is selling cups with ShagAtl on them. Cost $30 with $5 going to Camp Sunshine. Cups can be personalized.
