2 Track season is in full swing The Howells Dodge track team has had a great amount of success this season. They are approaching the end of the season which means districts will be coming soon. This year districts will be May 12 at Wisner Pilger High School. The Jaguars have been preparing for this all year. A few members of the track team got the honor of participating at the Norfolk Classic track meet. For the boys, Luke Renter ran the 100 and placed fourth and Dylan Kucera got 7th in shot put and discus. For the girls, the 4x400 team of Haley Eikmeier, Kalli Brester, Sam Brester, and Tessa Brester got 5th place. Haley Eikmeier competed in the 800 and received 7th place. Lastly, the girls 4x800 team of Sam Brester, Tessa Brester, Jessi Brester and Haley Eikmeier got 3rd place. At the East Husker Conference Track meet the girls 4x400 team was the champion. Congratulations to all members of the track team and good luck at districts! Mallory Rolf

3 Golf team is swinging away The Jaguar Golf Team has been hard at work. They attended the the HSF Invite, on April 28th. At this meet the golfers finished 6th out of 11 teams with 401. Individual results; Nolan Lund 83 (4th place medalist), Brett Fiala 95, Connor Blum 103, Zach Lund 120, and Darren Hegemann 144. On May 3rd, they also attended the Logan View Invitational. The Jaguars were very successful, Nolan was the overall champion of the day. They were runners-up at North Bend on May 5 and travel to Stanton on May 6th. 4 Dance team is twirling into a new season Dance team practice for the season is on its way. Tryout practice was held on April 21, in the Howells gym. This years dance team members are: Chelsea Bayer, Kalli Brester, Hailey Coufal, Katelyn Steffensmeier, Jordyn Brester, Grace Dvorak, Mckenna Jedlicka, Alyssa Coufal, and Callie Jackson. This summer the dancers will be attending the Colfax County Fair to compete in the dance competition. Good Luck, dancers! -Caitlin Klosen

5 Music program ends their year As the school year comes to a close, the music program is also finishing up their year. On April 22nd, the high school band and chorus traveled to Norfolk for the District Music Contest. There many different students performing, whether it be solos, duets, or group performances. As a group, the band received a III and the choir received a II. The women s choir group received a II and the men s group a I. Hailey Coufal performed a vocal solo and was awarded a II. Carter Bracht s vocal solo received a I. Elizabeth Sindelar sang a solo and received a II. Carter Bracht and Hailey Coufal sang a vocal duet, receiving a I. Phoebe Chi s piano solo was awarded a perfect score and a I. Carter Bracht had a saxophone solo that earned a I. Elisia Vogel performed a bass clarinet solo and earned II. Congratulations to all of those who performed at the District Music Contest.

6 FCCLA and FFA Banquet was a success This year's FCCLA and FFA banquet was a huge success. The parents provided a bountiful meal for all who attended. The FCCLA officers handed down their leadership spots to Carter Bracht, Dax VanLengen, Elizabeth Sindelar, Sam Brester, Brett Fiala, Tessa Brester, and Emily Ritzdorf, Joey Kratochvil, Ryan Molacek, and Chelsea Bayer. The new FFA officers are Elisia Vogel, Hailey Coufal, Tessa Brester, Miles Kulhanek, Joey Kratochvil, Emily Wragge, and Jordyn Brester. Thank you to Mrs. Prusa and Mr. Brabec for making this banquet such a successful event! Congratulations to all of the new officers! - Mallory Rolf
