There was lots of discussion on different ways to raise the numbers at the Speed shows. Because the Posse show seems to attract a good number of people, we decided to offer a $20 discount to all Lee Posse and Lee Posse Junior members if they would like to join PGHA. This is similar to the discount given to 4H members. Only one discount can be used per membership. We did have one PeeWee rider from the Posse at the Oct. 17th Speed show and hopefully those numbers will continue to improve. Rena is working to improve attendance at all our shows by placing the show bills on lots of social media sites. She is also bringing in lots of sponsors. Please feel free to place our show bills in your local feed and tack stores. Also keep working on bringing in sponsors as the more sponsor money we have, the better year end awards we can offer. We are going to have a fun show on Sunday, Nov 15, Registration will open at 9:00 am and the show will start at 10:00 am. This fun show is not part of the year end circuit awards. There will also be a tack sale at this show. Please buy your raffle tickets for the Horseshoe Christmas Tree made by Gilbert Holland. Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5 and can be purchased at the shows. Year end Banquet will take place on Sat. June 25, Next meeting 1/11/16 Laura St John

2 Page 2 Page 2 S E C R E T A R Y S R E P O R T The meeting was called to order and the secretary s report was accepted by Brian Dunleavy and seconded by Pam D Amore. T R E A S U R E R S R E P O R T Checking and Savings account balances were given as of the end of September. The savings account is still owed $4000 which we will transfer in after a few shows. D I R E C T O R S R E P O R T Field Maintenance & Improvements to the show grounds: a few panels in the clay arena have been replaced. A bid for fencing has been put in but was not correct. The County is waiting on other bids. County/Sports Council: If anyone knows of any fence company that would like to put a bid in, please contact Kim Kreller at The fencing may not be replaced until May 2016 since the show season has started.

3 O L D T H E N N E W B U S I N E S S: Sponsor Money: Rena briefly brought up that she has some sponsorship money ($500-$600) that is being offered to help supplement year end awards for Performance. We discussed whether the money would be used for better prizes for each class or if an additional overall highpoint and possible reserve highpoint award would be given with this money. It was also brought up that since PGHA is three disciplines under one organization, it would not be fair to just offer this to the Performance riders even though the sponsor has stipulated this is what they want their money used for. The members present were assured that H/J and Speed exhibitors would receive the same benefit even if PGHA has to cover the costs. This will be further discussed at the next Board meeting. Changes: it was voted on and passed to allow the English riders in the Performance shows to wear Polo shirts instead of the traditional show shirt and jacket, if they choose. They must still wear proper breeches/jodhpurs, riding boots and properly fitting helmet. Performance Awards: Grand and Reserve awards for all age/open divisions, will continue. These may be ribbons or PGHA Bucks. 27 Grand ribbons were ordered and there are plenty of Reserve ribbons on hand. Speed Show Attendance: attendance numbers are way down and it was discussed how we could bring in more riders. The Lee Posse has about people that attend their shows and many are junior riders. We addressed giving them a discount of $20 to join PGHA, similar to what we offer to 4H members. Voted and passed. Rena got in touch with the Posse President by telephone and briefly discussed cross promotions between our club and theirs. Amy was given the contact information to follow up and to try to get a member list. Credit Cards: There will be a $5.00 fee for this type of payment. We are going to give it a try and see how it works. Fun Show: November 15th with a start time of 10 a.m. Contact Marlene Tehrani for more information. Peggy Santor has volunteered to work registration and Mary Beth Fox will help with the show. Raffle Item: we have a beautiful horseshoe Christmas tree made by Gilbert Holland. He is currently selling them for $100 each. You can purchase a raffle ticket for $2.00 (3 for $5.00) at any of our shows and try to win one for yourself or as a gift. The winning ticket will be dawn on Dec. 5th at the Performance show. You do not need to be present to win. Coggins: the Department of Agriculture will be checking Coggins at all of our horse shows. You must make sure you have a printed copy of your Coggins. A picture of the Coggins on your telephone is NOT sufficient. It is a State law that you must have the Coggins with you anytime you are trailering a horse. 3

4 Page 4 H U N T E R / J U M P E R The Hunter / Jumper show had 34 riders entered to make a total of 145 class entries. With memberships and sponsorships, $ was brought in!! Next show is Oct 24th 11/21/15 12/19/15 1/23/16 2/27/16 3/26/16 4/23/16 P E R F O R M A N C E 11 riders entered to make 62 class entries bringing in $ which includes memberships and sponsors. The English portion of the show was cancelled due to rain and people scratched their classes and left.
