This means that 4-H season is in full swing. There are lots of clinics for various 4-H projects all over the great state of Kansas. Kansas 4-H local units do an amazing job of offering educational opportunities for youth. Be sure you are taking advantage of these! It s important to remember that 4-H is more than just the beloved county fair. 4-H is an educationalbased organization, helping youth prepare for everyday life events; responsibility, deadlines, conflict resolution, teamwork, public speaking, money and record management, and many more. Reminding youth to be aware of vital dates and requirements that affect their 4-H projects being exhibited at the County Fair, helps teach them at a young age vital life skills. Sometimes missing deadlines and learning the hard way, are the best educational experiences in preparing youth for real-world deadlines. I can confidently say, 4-H grows strong leaders, who are prepared for the challenges life can create. Hosting or attending educational events, helps deepen knowledge for project areas youth are passionate about. How are your projects providing educational opportunities for all youth in the Wyandotte County community? Sincerely, Nicole Crosson 4-H Youth Development Agent 1 P a g e
